Reviewers highlight the spaciousness of the campsites and the thoughtful spacing between them, ensuring that campers can enjoy a sense of seclusion and peace. The presence of large, beautiful trees throughout the campground contributes to a serene and natural setting, with some campsites even featuring a creek either nearby or running directly through them. This creek access adds a unique charm and the soothing sound of flowing water to the camping experience.

This attention to hygiene is a significant plus for any camping experience, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay for all visitors. The presence of two vault toilets that were "very well maintained" is specifically mentioned, indicating a commitment to cleanliness even with basic facilities.
Camp Creek Campground is also noted for being "very dog friendly." This is a significant advantage for campers who enjoy bringing their furry friends along on their outdoor adventures. One reviewer specifically mentioned staying at site 15, noting that while the sites were generally of decent size, their particular site was huge but had limited flat spots for pitching a tent. This suggests that while most sites are spacious, the specific topography of individual sites can vary, and tent campers might want to inquire about the flatness of their chosen site when making a reservation or upon arrival. Another minor downside mentioned was the distance of the car parking from some sites, indicating that campers might need to carry their gear a short distance. However, the reviewer still emphasized their overall positive experience.
The limited cell service at Camp Creek Campground could be seen as a benefit by those looking to disconnect and fully immerse themselves in nature. However, the reviewer also noted that the town is only a short five-minute drive away, providing convenient access to amenities and communication if needed. Furthermore, the campground's location is described as "centrally located to Mount Hood activities," making it an ideal base for exploring the broader recreational opportunities of the area, such as hiking, scenic drives, and winter sports during the appropriate seasons.
Promotional aspects of Camp Creek Campground, based on the reviews, would include its quiet and private campsites, the presence of a creek in many sites, the access to well-maintained hiking and mountain biking trails suitable for easy walking, the very clean restrooms, its dog-friendly policy, and its affordable pricing. The central location near Mount Hood activities further enhances its appeal to a wide range of local users seeking a convenient and enjoyable outdoor getaway.
In conclusion, Camp Creek Campground near Rhododendron, Oregon, appears to be a highly recommended "camping near me" destination for local users. Sep 01, 2024 · Donna SutherlandWe stayed at site 15. The sites were a decent size throughout the campground. Our site was huge, but there weren't many decent flat spots for a tent. Another downside was how far away the car was parked. There were two vault toilets that were very well maintained. The trees are huge and beautiful, not to mention the stream that goes through the camp. Not much cell service here but town is only a ~5 min drive. Centrally located to Mount Hood activities. Overall we loved out stay!!
Oct 03, 2023 · Megan DuncanAmazing camp spot! Quiet and spacious sites. We had #14 which on the creek and was large enough for 2 large tents and a kitchen area. Site #13 was smaller but had a secret area in the back that was perfect for a large tent right on the creek.Restrooms kept stocked and cleaned.
Jun 14, 2023 · Kelly KnightHighly recommend camp #25 it's near the entrance and has this historic gem. If you like cooking outdoors this camp is for you. This thing has amazing air flow and cooks like a grill and an oven! Pretty nifty and it's 87 years old! My friends played midevil tavern music and it was definitely a vibe. 👌
Jun 07, 2023 · Kathryn LyonsGreat location with well maintained sites! Stayed at site 16 which is right next to Camp Creek. Couldn’t even hear the road noise, just the Creek. Toilets are vault and the water is from a hand pump but still a great place.
