Nestled in the scenic beauty of Rhododendron, Oregon, Paradise Trail Christian Camp offers a unique camping experience for local users seeking a getaway in nature. If you're searching for "camping near me" and desire a location that blends rustic charm with opportunities for outdoor adventure, look no further. Paradise Trail Christian Camp, easily accessible at 39 Rd, Rhododendron, OR 97049, provides a distinctive setting for individuals, families, and groups looking to explore the wonders of the Mt. Hood area.
For those utilizing platforms under the category "camping near me," Paradise Trail Christian Camp stands out with its inviting atmosphere and diverse offerings. While not a traditional tent or RV campground in the conventional sense, the centerpiece of the camp is its awesome old lodge, a historic building that provides a comfortable and communal space for accommodation. This lodge offers a unique alternative to typical campsites, making it particularly appealing for larger groups or those seeking a more sheltered experience, especially during the colder months or for gatherings.
The environment surrounding Paradise Trail Christian Camp is truly captivating. Situated in the heart of the Mt. Hood region, visitors are treated to breathtaking natural beauty. The area is renowned for its lush forests, pristine rivers, and of course, the majestic Mt. Hood itself. Whether you're looking for a tranquil escape to relax and rejuvenate or an adventure-filled weekend exploring the mountain, this location serves as an excellent basecamp. Reviews highlight the wonderful setting, emphasizing its appeal for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
The services and features of Paradise Trail Christian Camp cater to a variety of needs. The lodge itself is equipped to host large groups, featuring numerous bunk beds and two private bedrooms, making it ideal for family reunions, church groups (as mentioned in a review by Meadow Springs Community Church), or gatherings of friends. While the lodge is described as rustic, it offers essential amenities for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is large and well-equipped with two refrigerators and two stoves, providing ample space for preparing meals for larger parties. However, guests are advised to bring their own cooking pots and pans beyond the very basics provided, as well as all the food they intend to cook.
Recent renovations have brought modern comforts to the historic structure, particularly in the bathrooms, which are noted as being nice, clean, and spacious. This blend of updated facilities within a rustic setting offers a unique charm. While the lodge retains its original design, including steep stairs to the bedrooms which may pose a challenge for those with limited mobility, a downstairs sofa bed provides an accessible sleeping option. The owners are reportedly undertaking ongoing improvements to the property, balancing the preservation of its historic character with the desire to enhance guest comfort.
For those who appreciate staying connected, the lodge does offer a TV and WiFi. However, many visitors, as suggested in the reviews, find the location to be an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse themselves in the natural surroundings. The camp truly offers a chance to "get away from life for a weekend" and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature and camaraderie.
The features of Paradise Trail Christian Camp extend beyond the lodge itself. Its prime location on Mt. Hood provides access to a plethora of outdoor activities. Depending on the season, visitors can enjoy hiking, snow play (as mentioned in a customer review), skiing, snowboarding, and exploring the scenic trails and attractions that the Mt. Hood National Forest has to offer. Whether you're an avid outdoor enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful stroll in nature, the area surrounding the camp has something for everyone.

Paradise Trail Christian Camp Reviews
Meadow Springs Community Church meets here annually for an outdoor service. The lodge is rustic but in such a wonderful place to visit and relax. We enjoy visiting for a weekend to play in the snow.
Jan 23, 2022 · Mark NicholsonAwesome old lodge. Steep stairs inside to bedrooms. So not great for limited mobility. But there is a sofa bed downstairs. Lots of bunks for large groups. And two nice private bedrooms too. Once fireplace is rebuilt and functional, it will be a perfect getaway. If your looking for luxury, keep searching. If you are up for an old lodge adventure this is the place for you. The owners are slowly making improvements. But it is an historic building. So they have to keep things originally designed. Bathrooms are nice as the latest remodel. Clean and spacious. Kitchen is large and has two fridges and two stoves. Bring your own cooking pots and pans beyond the very basics which are on hand. And bring all you will want to cook. Lodge is a fun blend of updated and rustic. Lots to do on Mt.Hood once your there. There is a tv and WiFi if you must have it. But it's great to get away from life for a weekend.
