Mt. Hood Village Campground Introduce
For local users in Oregon searching for "camping near me," Mt. Hood Village Campground, located at 65000 US-26, Welches, OR 97067, USA, offers a compelling option for a getaway in a beautiful mountain setting. You can reach them at (503) 622-4011 or +1 503-622-4011 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on customer reviews, Mt. Hood Village Campground boasts a fantastic environment for those who appreciate "the wood and mountains." Its proximity to various outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, and fishing makes it an ideal basecamp for adventure enthusiasts. One visitor noted, "The proximity is great for skiing, hiking, fishing, etc." This suggests that regardless of the season, there are ample opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the Mt. Hood area.
The campground itself is described as "neat, clean, and orderly," indicating that the management takes pride in maintaining the grounds. This can contribute significantly to a pleasant camping experience, providing a comfortable and well-kept environment for your stay.
In terms of amenities, Mt. Hood Village Campground seems to offer more than just basic camping facilities. One reviewer highlighted "the hot tub, sauna, and fitness center" as a "nice change." These features provide opportunities for relaxation and recreation beyond traditional camping activities. Additionally, there is a "heated outdoor pool" and a "rec room," further enhancing the recreational options available to guests. These amenities make it a potentially attractive destination for families and individuals looking for a blend of outdoor adventure and on-site comforts.
The presence of "walking/biking trails" directly accessible from the campground is another significant feature, allowing guests to easily explore the surrounding woodland and mountain scenery. The fact that the property is "gated" also suggests an added layer of security for campers.
However, it's important to note some discrepancies and areas for potential improvement mentioned by visitors. One review pointed out, "Do not be fooled by photo on website, however, there is no indoor pool," which might be disappointing for those expecting this amenity based on online visuals. It's always wise to verify specific amenities directly with the campground.
Another recurring concern in the reviews is the condition of the laundry room. While one visitor praised the employees for their hard work in keeping the place in order, they noted "an incredible amount of long dog hair in EVERY SINGLE MACHINE" due to the presence of permanent/semi-permanent residents with pets. This hair was also reported to be all over the floor, potentially affecting those using the laundry facilities. One guest mentioned resorting to sweeping the laundry room before each use. While this issue is not seen as a reflection on the staff's efforts, it's a factor to be aware of if you plan on using the laundry facilities during your stay.
Despite this issue with the laundry room, multiple reviewers commend the employees for their care, helpfulness, and friendliness. This positive feedback about the staff suggests that you can expect good customer service during your visit.

Mt. Hood Village Campground Reviews
This is one of the better TT we have been to. The proximity is great for skiing, hiking, fishing, etc. the campground is neat, clean, and orderly. The amenities are a nice change with the hot tub, sauna, and fitness center. Do not be fooled by photo on website, however, there is no indoor pool so our kids were a bit disappointed with that.My only criticism is that of the laundry room. And this is in no way reflective on the employees because you can tell they care and work hard to keep the place in order. But this is more of a reflection on the permanent/semi permanent residents. There is an incredible amount of long dog hair in EVERY SINGLE MACHINE. It’s all over the floor as well so if you happen to drop some clothing from the washer like I do every time, your stuff will be covered in someone’s pet hair. I have just chosen to sweep the place every time I do laundry now. No big deal but it is insanely difficult to get the hair out of the washers.Again, I can tell the employees really care about the place and they’re helpful and friendly.
Apr 06, 2025 · Justin WIf you like the wood and mountains, you will love it here!! The is a heated outdoor pool as well as a hot tub, rec room, walking/biking trails. To much to list. But I love it my family loves it!! Summer is the best. Oh also they have onsite laundry mat and it's also gated.
Apr 10, 2025 · Katie PoseyDO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE THOUSAND TRAILS PASS!! They make it seem like a decent deal for the year pass BUT fail to mention any where in their advertisements and info that you need an additional pass to stay at this park, that cost just as much as the whole membership!!!The park itself is nice and I would love to enjoy it but 100 bucks a night is to much for a camping spot.
Mar 22, 2025 · Drew JaegerMt. Hood is an awesome park to stay at if you enjoy the outdoors. It is connected to the park next door and the ridge you can climb is beautiful. The bike riding is awesome (Sandy Ridge MTB system is nearby, and the roadriding available with Barlow Rd heading up to Lolo pass is great. The facilities are great. The park sometimes attracts people who dont take care of the park - this isnt a TT issue, its an RV park user issue, and its hard to escape it no matter where you go. We've had great stays and bad stays due to the neighbors. The staff that I talked to were thoughtful and polite, and didnt have that 'burned out' vibe that lots of TT park staff have.Absolutely beautiful park with tons of stuff to do if you go outside.
Feb 09, 2025 · Zach JohnstonMy family and I had an excellent stay here. Perfect location for heading up the mountain. Lots of stores and restaurants near by. Rooms were clean and we'll kept.
