Griffin Lakes Campground Introduce
For local residents and travelers seeking a "camping near me" experience centered around a picturesque lake in the Guyton, Georgia area, Griffin Lakes Campground, located at 180 Lakeshore Dr, Guyton, GA 31312, USA, offers a charming, privately owned retreat. You can contact the campground by phone at (912) 772-7411 or +1 912-772-7411. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground provides a beautiful lakeside setting with a focus on RV camping and water-based recreational activities, fostering a friendly community atmosphere.
One visitor enthusiastically described Griffin Lakes Campground as an "awesome place" with a "beautiful view of the lake," highly recommending it to others. This immediately highlights the scenic appeal of the campground, suggesting that the lake is a central and attractive feature for guests. Waking up to or relaxing with a beautiful lake view can significantly enhance the camping experience, offering a sense of tranquility and connection with nature.
Another more detailed review provides further valuable insights into the specific features and environment of Griffin Lakes Campground. It is noted that this is a "cute privately owned little campground" that appears to cater exclusively to RV sites, as "it looks like only RV sites, no tents." This is important information for potential visitors to be aware of, as tent campers will need to seek alternative campgrounds in the area. For RV owners, however, this focus suggests that the sites are likely well-equipped to accommodate recreational vehicles.
A significant draw of Griffin Lakes Campground is its direct access to the lake and the recreational opportunities it provides. The presence of a "boat ramp" makes it convenient for guests to launch their boats and enjoy activities on the water. Additionally, the campground features a "swimming area with beach sand," offering a dedicated and enjoyable space for swimming and sunbathing, particularly appealing during warmer months. The reviewer clarified that while the lake is "not huge," it is "big enough to put the boat in and do some laps with a raft behind it," indicating that it is suitable for various boating and water-based fun.
Griffin Lakes Campground also offers specific pricing for lake activities, with a mention of "$5 to swim $10 for jet skis $15 for boats." This provides transparency regarding the costs associated with using the lake for these activities, allowing visitors to plan their budget accordingly. The availability of jet ski and boat access suggests that the lake is of a sufficient size and suitable for these motorized water sports, adding another layer of recreational options for guests.
Beyond the lake itself, the campground offers other amenities for relaxation and socializing. The reviewer noted that "swings are nice" and that "the residents of the campground are sweet and kind," indicating a friendly and welcoming community atmosphere among the campers. This can be a significant positive aspect, especially for those who enjoy interacting with fellow travelers and creating a sense of community during their stay. The presence of "picnic tables" and a "cute area to hang all day and spend time on the water!" further supports the idea of a comfortable and enjoyable environment for outdoor leisure.
It is also important to consider the surrounding local area, as described by the reviewer. The area is characterized as "country" with "not many stores around," and local restaurants are mentioned as being "about 25 to 30 minutes away." This suggests that while Griffin Lakes Campground offers a peaceful and nature-focused setting, visitors should be prepared for a somewhat remote location with limited immediate access to shopping and dining options. It would be advisable for guests to bring necessary supplies and plan for transportation if they intend to dine out or visit local stores.
In summary, Griffin Lakes Campground in Guyton, Georgia, offers a beautiful lakeside "camping near me" experience, primarily catering to RV owners. Its key features include direct lake access with a boat ramp and a sandy swimming area, opportunities for boating and jet skiing (with associated fees), a peaceful environment with nice swings, and a friendly community of campers. The campground's location provides scenic lake views and a tranquil atmosphere, although it is situated in a rural area with limited nearby amenities, requiring guests to be somewhat self-sufficient or prepared for a short drive to reach stores and restaurants.
For local RV enthusiasts and those seeking a lakeside retreat with a focus on water activities and a strong sense of community, Griffin Lakes Campground appears to be an excellent choice. The positive reviews highlight its natural beauty and recreational offerings. However, potential visitors should note that tent camping may not be available and that the surrounding area is rural with limited immediate conveniences. Planning accordingly will ensure a pleasant and enjoyable stay at this "awesome" lakeside campground.

Lake is not huge, but it's big enough to put the boat in and do some laps with a raft behind it. Only $5 to swim $10 for jet skis $15 for boats. Swings are nice and the residents of the campground are sweet and kind. Picnic tables and cute area to hang all day and spend time on the water! The local area is country and not many stores around. Local restaurants will be about 25 to 30 minutes away.
Jul 02, 2023 · Toni Lyn ColemanI absolutely love it. My daughter loves the swings. I love the view. Great management. Very nice people here. Well kept maintenance. Washer and dryer, bathrooms, and a spot to swim and much more.
Apr 15, 2023 · Charlene WilsonI went out to go fishing a couple weeks ago and the facilities were pretty nice. The office was closed and there is a note there on what to do when that is the case. I did what was asked and away I went. The water was very clear, there is a lot of grass and slime from the bank out about 20-30 feet so beware of that. I did catch this one little beauty and had a couple other strikes but that was it.As I returned to the landing and my truck i noticed a note on my truck. I got it and read it saying that it cost $5 to put my small boat in and $5 per person to fish at the lake. So take note of that when you go out there.
