Being a no-wake lake is its standout environmental characteristic, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere undisturbed by the noise and waves of motorboats. This calm water surface is perfect for a variety of gentle water sports and for simply enjoying the natural beauty of the lake. The presence of a day-use recreation area indicates that the location is equipped to handle both overnight campers and day visitors looking to enjoy the lake and its immediate surroundings. The presence of a boat ramp facilitates access to the lake for those wishing to engage in boating activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. For accessibility, the campground offers an accessible restroom located at the center of the one-way loop near the boat ramp. However, it's important to note that the parking area, which consists of four sections forming one large lot, does not have designated disabled parking spaces. The features of Lake Alva Campground are particularly geared towards those who appreciate a quieter lakeside experience and enjoy non-motorized water activities. The no-wake nature of Lake Alva is its prime feature, distinguishing it from other potentially busier lakes in the vicinity. This characteristic makes it exceptionally suitable for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, and leisurely floating. The availability of a boat ramp enhances access for these activities. While the "swimming beach" is described as a small, somewhat grassy area without a true sandy beach, it still provides a designated spot for swimming, albeit with the caveat of no lifeguard. The limited beach area might mean it's less crowded than other swimming spots, which could be a benefit for those seeking a more secluded experience.

While the swimming area is not a traditional beach, its potential for being less crowded could be framed as an advantage for those who prefer a quieter swim. The great feedback regarding the camp hosts suggests a welcoming and helpful staff, which is always a significant positive aspect to promote.

Lake Alva Campground Reviews
Lake Alva Campground has a day use recreation area on this quiet no-wake lake, featuring a swimming beach, picnic tables, and a boat ramp.Accessibility info and site description: From Hwy 83 ten miles north of Seeley Lake, turn west at the signs for Lake Alva campground, then turn left at the fork. There are four parking areas that make up one large parking lot, and no disabled parking. The accessible restroom can be found at the center of the one way loop near the boat ramp. One picnic site is located on the far side of this loop, and the other is at the second parking area on the right. The path to the swimming beach is at the corner of the first parking area on the left, marked with a sign. There's a short paved path, followed by a step down onto a graveled trail that leads downhill to a somewhat grassy spot with a sign that says "no lifeguard". This is the designated swimming site, but note that there is no true "beach" here. The distance from the parking lot to the swimming beach is about 100 feet.Lake Alva's best feature is that it's a no-wake lake, which means it will be more peaceful than other lakes nearby. This is a great spot for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, fishing, or even floating on an inner tube. The swimming beach leaves much to be desired, as there is no actual beach, and the small grassy area won't fit many people. However, it sounds like this spot might also be less busy than other nearby sites, so it may provide an opportunity to recreate on the water without the crowds!
Jun 08, 2022 · Disabled in the WildWe had a great time here. The lake was beautiful and it was amazing getting a spot here. Camp hosts were great. Wish there was more beach area for the lake. Only thing stopping 5 stars.
Jun 24, 2022 · David RamosClean facilities, a beautiful lake, some potable water, a picnic table and plenty of trees to hang a hammock, what more could one ask for? Would definitely return.
Aug 22, 2018 · Samuel FrensGreat campground. Good swimming. Lots of open sites on a Tuesday in July. Tons of free campfire wood.
Jul 18, 2021 · Benjamin FriesenOne of the most peaceful campgrounds on the planet. Tim, the host, was friendly and helpful. The birds here are amazing. We rolled in on motorcycles so I wished there were bear lockers. Thankfully our bike cases acted as impromptu food containers.
