For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Bell, Florida area, Hart Springs RV Campground, located at 4183 SW 80th Ct, Bell, FL 32619, USA, offers a compelling option for RV enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Based on recent customer reviews, this county park stands out for its excellent amenities, natural attractions, and convenient location. You can reach them directly at (352) 463-3444 or their mobile number +1 352-463-3444 for inquiries and reservations.
The environment surrounding Hart Springs RV Campground is a significant draw. The park boasts a "big spring with swimming," indicating a natural water feature perfect for recreation and cooling off, especially during the warm Florida months. Furthermore, the campground borders the Suwannee River, providing access to this iconic Florida waterway for potential activities such as fishing, boating, and scenic viewing. The combination of a natural spring and river access offers a diverse range of aquatic experiences for campers. The reviews also highlight that the campsites are spacious, providing "plenty of space between the campsites," which enhances privacy and the overall feeling of being in nature without being crowded.
In terms of services, Hart Springs RV Campground is described as having a "really nice full hookups campground." This is a significant advantage for RV travelers, as full hookups typically include electric (likely both 30 amp and 50 amp service), water, and sewer connections at each campsite. These amenities ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for RVs of all sizes, allowing guests to utilize all their onboard systems without the need for frequent trips to dumping stations or water fill-up points. The mention of "courteous staff" in one review suggests a well-managed park where guests can expect friendly and helpful service, contributing positively to the overall camping experience.
The features of Hart Springs RV Campground extend beyond the immediate campsite. Its location is highlighted as being "close to many other springs and state parks," making it an ideal base for exploring the natural wonders of North Florida. This proximity allows campers to easily venture out and visit other nearby attractions, further enriching their stay. Additionally, the campground is conveniently located "just a few miles from Chiefland," a nearby town where visitors can access essential services such as gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores. This balance of natural beauty and accessibility to urban conveniences adds to the appeal of Hart Springs RV Campground.
One reviewer specifically praised the cleanliness of the park, stating it was "very clean." This is an important aspect for any campground, as it contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of the guests. Well-maintained and clean facilities ensure a pleasant and hygienic camping environment. The reviewer also noted the "moon light was great, campfire ambiance was awesome," indicating that the natural setting provides a wonderful backdrop for traditional camping experiences like enjoying a campfire under the stars.
However, one significant drawback mentioned in a review is the presence of "Dusk to Dawn lights that were shining all night long." The reviewer felt that these lights detracted from the natural nighttime environment, making it "lit up like a Walmart parking lot" and obscuring the night sky. For those who value a dark night sky for stargazing or simply prefer a natural transition from day to night, this could be a considerable issue. The reviewer explicitly stated that "there is no nighttime sky here" due to the bright lights and that this was a "deal breaker" for them, despite otherwise enjoying the park.
Promotional information for Hart Springs RV Campground is not explicitly provided in the reviews. As a county park, it likely operates on a fee schedule that may vary based on the type of site (e.g., full hookup vs. primitive), the length of stay, and potentially the time of year. Local residents might inquire about any potential discounts for county residents. It is recommended to contact the park directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about current rates, reservation policies, and any special offers that may be available. Information about seasonal availability and peak season pricing would also be beneficial for planning a trip.
To ensure a pleasant stay, local users should also inquire about any specific rules and regulations of the park, such as pet policies, quiet hours, and guidelines for campfires and waste disposal. Understanding these rules in advance helps ensure a respectful and enjoyable environment for all guests. Given the presence of a spring and river, it might also be useful to ask about any specific guidelines related to swimming or water activities in these areas.
In conclusion, Hart Springs RV Campground near Bell, Florida, offers a fantastic environment for local users searching for "camping near me," particularly those with RVs or an interest in natural springs and river access. The campground provides spacious full hookup sites, is praised for its cleanliness and courteous staff, and is conveniently located near other natural attractions and the town of Chiefland. The opportunity for swimming in a large spring and accessing the Suwannee River are significant features. However, potential visitors should be aware of the issue with bright nighttime lighting, which may detract from the natural night sky experience. Despite this concern, Hart Springs RV Campground appears to be a highly recommended destination for a comfortable and nature-filled camping getaway in North Florida. Contacting them directly at (352) 463-3444 or +1 352-463-3444 will provide the most up-to-date information on rates, reservations, and any current promotions.

Hart Springs RV Campground Reviews
This is a county park, but, wow, is it great! A big spring with swimming, it borders the Suwannee River. Really nice full hookups campground with plenty of space between the campsites. The park is located close to many other springs and state parks. Just a few miles from Chiefland where you can get gas, eat out, get groceries, etc. I suspect we will return here another year.
Mar 06, 2025 · Richard HarrisThis is a nice park with courteous staff and very clean. The only reason for 4 stars is the Dusk to Dawn lights that were shining all night long. There is no nighttime sky here, it's lit up like a Walmart parking lot. So if you prefer to be able to tell night from day and wake up with the sun rise, this isn't the place. The moon light was great, campfire ambiance was awesome but those street lights are a deal breaker for us.
Mar 14, 2025 · KJ BoydThis campground is a hidden gem! FHU sites, laundry, pool, quiet and a wonderful couple, Ann and Greg as camp hosts! What more could you ask for! We will definitely be back!
Mar 23, 2025 · Julie GramollWe spent a fantastic four nights at this beautiful campground and park. My family really enjoyed everything about this park. The sites are spacious and relatively private on the outside of the loop. The campground hosts were kind, personable folks who were very accomadating. We enjoyed playing in the spring (cold but you got used to it lol), having fun in the splash pad, and exploring the nature trails. There is a paved path, about a 10 or 15 minute walk, to the spring area and I recommend walking it at least once even if you have bikes or a golf cart. The wildlife and nature views are worth the extra steps! The bath house and laundry area were clean and well cared for and the pool was refreshing as well. I do wish they could come up with a better alternative to the paper bracelets we had to wear all weekend but I got used it, just my kids needed something more durable, and something they could take off at night. Nonetheless, pack sunscreen and get ready to have a wonderful time!
Jul 16, 2021 · Leann HarmsCampground? AmazingSprings? AmazingCamp hosts? AwesomeAmenities? Eh. The bathrooms in the campground need updating, 1 of the 4 men showers was the only 1 with hot water. The women's shower was ok except you had to go to the cold side to get hot water and vice versaCamp store? Very small and limited items, decent prices. They do need to communicate better the hours of operation at the store, went 4 times and it was only open once during the supposed 9 to 5 hours.Only down side to the trip is every interaction with Brian the store or manager of sorts at the store was very condescending and like one of those undercover rude people each of the 3 times we interacted with him. Not sure what his deal was but he needs a new job if that's how he treats and talks to paying customers. Maybe he can take a page out of the hosts manual because the Camp hosts were freaking awesome.
