Hemlock Lake Campground Introduce
For those in the Roseburg, Oregon area searching for "camping near me," Hemlock Lake Campground offers a scenic lakeside camping experience with access to trails. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground boasts a beautiful lake and easily navigable trails, making it an attractive option for nature lovers and those seeking outdoor recreation. However, potential visitors should be aware of certain limitations, such as the restrooms being locked during at least one visitor's stay and the absence of potable water on-site, requiring campers to bring their own supply. Additionally, the presence of numerous travel trailers may lead to generator noise, which could be a consideration for those seeking a particularly quiet natural retreat.
The environment surrounding Hemlock Lake Campground is a significant draw, with reviewers describing the lake as "nice" and "gorgeous." This suggests a picturesque setting ideal for lakeside activities and enjoying natural beauty. The campground also features "easy to navigate" trails, making it accessible for a variety of skill levels and perfect for leisurely walks or more extended hikes around the lake and surrounding area. The campsites themselves are described as "large" and equipped with "nice fire pits," providing ample space for camping setups and enjoyable campfires. The overall environment appears to be one of natural beauty centered around Hemlock Lake, offering opportunities for relaxation and outdoor exploration. However, the potential for generator noise from the travel trailers, as noted by one reviewer, might detract from the otherwise tranquil setting for some visitors.
Services and features at Hemlock Lake Campground appear to be somewhat basic, focusing on providing a natural camping experience. The presence of "large camp area with nice fire pit" at each site suggests that basic amenities for camping are provided. The availability of trails indicates a feature catering to hikers and those wishing to explore the area on foot. However, a significant drawback reported by one reviewer was that "the restrooms were locked," which is a crucial consideration for campers who rely on such facilities. Another important service-related note is that "there is no water so bring your own," indicating that potable water is not available at the campground. This necessitates that campers must be self-sufficient in their water supply for drinking, cooking, and hygiene. The presence of a "fair price" for a two-night stay suggests that the cost of camping is reasonable, considering the natural setting and basic amenities provided (or not provided, in the case of restrooms and water). The frequent presence of travel trailers implies that the campground can accommodate larger recreational vehicles and that generator use is common among these campers.
A key feature of Hemlock Lake Campground is undoubtedly its access to the "gorgeous" lake and the "easy to navigate" trails. These natural attractions make it a desirable location for those seeking outdoor recreation and scenic beauty. The large campsites with fire pits also enhance the camping experience, providing comfort and the opportunity for traditional campfire gatherings. However, the locked restrooms reported by one visitor are a significant negative feature that potential campers should be aware of, as access to sanitary facilities is a basic need. Similarly, the lack of available water requires campers to be well-prepared and bring an adequate supply. The potential for noise from generators, due to the prevalence of travel trailers, is another feature that could impact the overall camping experience, particularly for those seeking peace and quiet in nature. The "fair price" mentioned in one review suggests that the cost aligns with the level of amenities and the quality of the natural setting, despite the limitations.
Promotional information for Hemlock Lake Campground is not explicitly provided in the customer reviews. However, the positive descriptions of the lake and trails serve as a form of organic promotion, highlighting the natural attractions of the area. For local users searching for "camping near me" who prioritize a beautiful lake and accessible trails, these features would likely be the primary selling points. Any official promotions might emphasize the scenic beauty of Hemlock Lake, the ease of the hiking trails, and the spacious campsites. Given the limitations regarding restrooms and water, and the potential for generator noise, any responsible promotion would likely need to make these aspects clear to potential visitors. The "fair price" could also be a promotional point for budget-conscious campers willing to be self-sufficient in terms of water and prepared for potential noise.
The customer feedback provides a balanced view of Hemlock Lake Campground. The positive aspects include the beautiful lake, easy trails, and large campsites. The negative aspects include the locked restrooms (at least during one visit), the lack of available water requiring campers to bring their own, and the potential for noise from generators due to the presence of many travel trailers. The fact that one reviewer still described it as "a great campsite! Loved it" despite the trek to the site and the generator noise suggests that the positive attributes, particularly the lake and fishing (mentioned as "seemed to be good"), can outweigh the drawbacks for some. However, potential visitors should carefully consider their needs and preferences regarding restroom facilities, water availability, and noise levels before choosing to camp at Hemlock Lake Campground.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Roseburg, OR area who are drawn to lakeside camping with hiking trails, Hemlock Lake Campground offers a scenic option. The large campsites and fire pits provide a traditional camping experience. However, it is crucial to be aware of the reported issues with locked restrooms (which may or may not be a consistent problem) and the absolute necessity of bringing your own water. Additionally, if you are sensitive to noise, the potential for generator noise from numerous travel trailers should be taken into consideration. Despite these drawbacks, the beauty of Hemlock Lake and the accessibility of the trails appear to be significant attractions for many visitors. It would be wise to contact the managing authority (using the provided phone number if possible) to inquire about the current status of restroom facilities and any regulations regarding generator use before planning your trip.
In conclusion, Hemlock Lake Campground near Roseburg, Oregon, offers a camping experience centered around a "gorgeous" lake with "easy to navigate" trails and large campsites with fire pits. While the natural environment is a major draw, potential visitors must be prepared to bring their own water, and should be aware of a report of locked restrooms. Additionally, the presence of many travel trailers may result in generator noise. Despite these limitations, the scenic beauty and recreational opportunities may make Hemlock Lake Campground a worthwhile option for those seeking a rustic lakeside camping experience near Roseburg, provided they come prepared and are aware of the potential drawbacks.

Hemlock Lake Campground Reviews
The restrooms were locked, very sadly. The lake was nice and the trails were easy to navigate. Large camp area with nice fire pit. Fair price we stayed 2 nights.
Jan 01, 2021 · Jennifer McKnightWhat a great campsite! Loved it. A bit of a trek out to the site but the lake is gorgeous and the fishing seemed to be good. Be aware there is no water so bring your own. There is also a lot of travel trailers that perch up here so a lot of generators if you don’t mind the noise then this is a great spot!
Sep 05, 2018 · Sky FrostWe stayed for 9 days in mid to late Oct. Beautiful lake and lots of great trails. We saw mule deer and a black bear. I would go back for sure! Bring your own water.
Nov 10, 2020 · Tim HNice campground but primative, take lots of water, trash cans on site. The Lake is great, fully stocked with trout, most folks catch their limit quickly.I've only bank fished but I would imagine a boat would be handy. Boats are allowed on the lake, just NO GAS ENGINES! buttrolling motors ARE allowed. It is the perfect lake for working the vegetation along the shore.I've seen people trolling in the middle, haven't seen any caught.Enjoy it! It's Nice, Not usually crowded!
Jul 23, 2022 · Rogg58It's a beautiful place to visit! I pulled a few good sized cut throat trout out of there too!
