Highwood Retreat Reviews
Can I just say that Highwood Retreat has absolutely raised the bar for glamping! This venue has it all figured out. Keeping you warm, well fed, and steeped in nature with the most luxurious touches, I am not only smitten but hooked. These glamping tents will make even the most anti-camping traveler into a fan. Glamorous bedding, crystal water decanters, and stunning fabrics make an overnight stay here rival any 5-star hotel stay. Seriously. Go... it's just that fabulous. 😍
Nov 22, 2024 · Colleen MulvihillWe spent a night at Highwood Retreat while on the way to northern Vermont and I wish we had spent more time there! It is truly magical. It’s not easy to create a spot where you feel like you’re living in luxury while also enjoying nature unencumbered, but the couple who runs this place have nailed it. Every little detail was so thoughtfully curated and we felt so well taken care of— even our pup was treated like a queen! Also, it stayed quite warm in the tent, even without a fire and temperatures dropping down into the 50s at night. I’m already daydreaming about a winter getaway.
Aug 30, 2024 · TalyaI truly can't say enough (like literally, can't stop telling everyone around me) about how amazing it is to stay at Highwood Retreat. My partner and I actually got engaged while staying there, and he worked closely with Katharine and Sam to create a really special surprise; and from the beautiful flowers and their handwritten note, to the Olympus worthy cheese board, I'll treasure those memories for the rest of my life. You can tell every single detail has been carefully thought about at the camp and it all comes together to create a stunning and romantic experience. Can't wait to go back!
Aug 06, 2024 · Grace MTruly a magical experience. The attention to detail was beyond measure, right down to the specially curated playlist and the coziest velvet bedding. The room service menu was everything we could have hoped for, and was impeccably executed and delivered in the cutest picnic baskets. The outdoor shower was magical. Most highly recommend!
Jul 29, 2024 · Allyson HarpleThis is such a special place. It's where rustic meets luxury in the most beautiful of ways. Everything in the "tent" has a charm and a moment intended for it. It just feels so thoughtfully curated. It's everything you need and more: private space, gorgeous view, cozy comfort. The owners are incredibly responsive and helpful. When we had an issue with the hot water in the shower, they were down there in less than 5 minutes and had it fixed and ready to go! And we stayed 3 nights and never ran out of water or firewood. There is great cell phone service there, but it's also a great opportunity to unplug and reconnect with your loved one. There's electricity and good lighting, but it's so lovely to sit by firelight and candlelight and talk, play cards, or eat a special treat.Notes:- We stayed at West Camp. Would love to come back and experience East Camp next time! They are a little different from each other but similar. You can see the other camp from where you are, but you're pretty far from one another and don't have any reason to cross paths, so you don't really notice they're there (though you could definitely interact if you wanted to visit with another couple and have both camps).- Their welcome guide was so helpful and informative!- They have a great menu of cocktails, wines, etc. as well as treats (we wanted to try their charcuterie but found ourselves out and about most days)!- We loved the outdoor shower. Water gets nice and hot!- There is a little bit of a walk to camp. It's not a long or strenuous walk, but it's worth mentioning it may not be ideal for those with disabilities (West Camp also has a lot of stairs). They do pick you up and drop you off when you're transferring your luggage!
