Based on recent reviews, potential campers should be aware of certain aspects related to site accessibility and customer service.
The environment surrounding Crown Point Camping Area in Perkinsville, Vermont, offers the natural beauty typical of the state. While specific details about the immediate landscape of the campground are limited in the provided reviews, Vermont is known for its picturesque scenery, including rolling hills, forests, and proximity to various outdoor activities. One reviewer noted that the area is about 30 minutes away from activities, suggesting that while the campground itself might offer a quieter setting, it requires a short drive to access regional attractions and recreational opportunities. The spaciousness of the individual camping spots was mentioned as a positive aspect by one reviewer, indicating that once settled, campers have ample room.
In terms of services and features, the reviews offer a mixed perspective. One positive note is that the campground was reported as clean by one visitor. The availability of "nice and big" spots is also a feature that could appeal to campers seeking more space. However, a significant concern raised by multiple reviewers pertains to the accessibility of the campground, particularly for those with larger trailers or campers, with one stating it was "very hard to drive a trailer" and another mentioning it being "tight to get into if you have bigger campers." This suggests that potential visitors with larger rigs should exercise caution and perhaps inquire about site accessibility before booking.
The reviews provide limited information about specific amenities offered at Crown Point Camping Area. One reviewer mentioned that the campground was "kinda old and not super well maintained," which might imply that facilities are basic. The staff were described as "nice" by one reviewer, offering a positive aspect of the service. However, another review paints a starkly different picture regarding the owner's interactions with guests. This reviewer expressed "super disappointment" with the service, detailing an unsettling experience where the owner allegedly monitored a large group of families who had booked together, enforcing a strict limit on gatherings even when they were not being loud. This reviewer also claimed that advertised activities were not followed through, with the exception of the owner's birthday, and that interactions with the owner were consistently rude from check-in to check-out. This negative feedback regarding customer service, particularly from the owner, is a significant point for potential campers to consider.
Features that might typically be expected at a campground, such as specific recreational facilities, were not detailed positively in the reviews. While activities were reportedly posted, there was a lack of follow-through, according to one guest. This suggests that relying on organized campground activities might lead to disappointment. The focus of the reviews is more on the site conditions, accessibility, and the nature of interactions with the management.
Promotional information is entirely absent in the provided reviews. There are no mentions of discounts, special offers, or unique packages being offered by Crown Point Camping Area. Local users interested in any potential promotions would need to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire.
The contrasting experiences shared in the reviews highlight the importance of considering different perspectives when evaluating Crown Point Camping Area. While one reviewer found the staff nice and the spots spacious, the other detailed significant issues with the owner's behavior and the campground's accessibility for larger vehicles. The cleanliness of the campground was noted as a positive by one of the dissatisfied reviewers, suggesting that while the physical environment might be acceptable in some aspects, other factors could detract from the overall experience.
For local users within the 'camping near me' category, Crown Point Camping Area in Perkinsville, VT, presents a location that may offer spacious campsites in a potentially quieter setting, being a short drive from regional activities. However, potential visitors, especially those with larger trailers or campers, should be aware of the reported difficulties in navigating the campground. Furthermore, the negative feedback regarding the owner's customer service is a serious consideration that may impact the overall enjoyment of the stay. It would be prudent for prospective campers to weigh these factors carefully and perhaps seek additional, more recent reviews or directly contact the campground to address any concerns before making a booking.
In conclusion, Crown Point Camping Area offers a camping option in Perkinsville, Vermont, with spacious sites noted as a positive. However, the campground has received negative feedback regarding the difficulty of maneuvering larger trailers and significant concerns about the owner's customer service and the lack of follow-through with advertised activities. Local users searching for 'camping near me' should consider these points and potentially seek further information to determine if this campground meets their needs and expectations for a pleasant camping experience. Contacting them at (802) 263-5555 or +1 802-263-5555 might provide additional clarity before making a decision.

Crown Point Camping Area Reviews
It's very hard to drive a trailer, and the place is kinda old and not super well maintained. However, it wasn't super full and the spots were nice and big. The area is about 30 minutes from activities. The staff were nice
Oct 14, 2024 · Jack KrupskiWas super disappointed at the service at Crown Point. The campground was clean but tight to get into if you have bigger campers. We camp with a large group and actually all booked together. The owner made sure to sit near our group to catch us talking after quiet hours and expected us to not gather on more than groups of 4. I could understand if we were loud but we weren’t. Was very unsettling and she was not kind. Activities were posted but never followed through with the exception of the owners birthday. Any interactions with the owner from check in to check out was met with rudeness. The 10 other families and I will not be back. We have never been treated like that at a campground.
May 27, 2024 · Kiernan OsgoodThis place is a hidden gem. The staff is awesome! They helped us get settled into our spot (we have a big rig and tow). The beach was extremely clean and lagoon was warm and relaxing. The entire campground was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff did a courtesy call the day before to make sure we didn't have questions getting into the area due to flooding in the area. If we come to Vermont we'll definitely stay again.
Jul 13, 2023 · Larry ThomasI don’t typically write reviews but felt others should be aware of how rude Bonnie is. We have camped for 20+ years and have never ran into owners like her. Yelling at kids , making kids bring in the campground rafts from the lagoon, ordering them around . Threatening them . She also walked in on one of our friends in the bathroom near the lagoon after he told her there was someone in there. Which mind you she’s lucky it wasn’t one of our kids . We have a group of kids with us and have been told for many yrs how respectful they are at campgrounds, she treated the adults and kids awful. Nothing to do here besides the lagoon which is nice but that’s all. The activities they post were either at different times or got canceled . Our group was not impressed and will not be going back. We wanted to give a heads up to campers with kids so you didn’t have to experience this .
May 27, 2024 · Miranda AndersonI used to go here every year as a child from a baby until I was in my teens. And again for my honeymoon. And will be going again this year for my five year anniversary. I have a favorite spot and have always been able to get it when I go. It’s quiet, it’s clean, there are places to swim and places to hike. Is by far my favorite campground, and I’ve been to quite a few.
