For local users seeking a relaxing getaway, Drummond Lake Campground offers a serene environment with access to a lake and a nearby charming town. Based on feedback from fellow campers, this campground provides a pleasant stop, particularly for those traveling through or looking for a quiet retreat. While it has some basic amenities, it's worth noting a few points raised by visitors to ensure it aligns with your camping preferences.
Environment:
The campground is described as "peaceful," suggesting a tranquil setting where you can unwind and enjoy nature. A notable feature is the "lake access with a little beach," providing opportunities for lakeside relaxation and possibly swimming or other water activities. The presence of a "nice hiking trail around the park" appeals to those who enjoy exploring the outdoors on foot. Additionally, the campground is conveniently located within "walking distance" of a "cute little town," offering a blend of natural beauty and easy access to local amenities.
The environment seems to cater to those who appreciate a quieter camping experience with natural attractions like a lake and hiking trails, along with the convenience of a nearby town for supplies or local exploration.
Services and Amenities:
Based on the reviews, Drummond Lake Campground offers essential services but has a few limitations compared to some larger or more amenity-rich campgrounds. Key points regarding services include:
- Lake access with a small beach.
- A nice hiking trail around the park.
- Electrical hookups are likely available, as one reviewer was traveling in a 30ft Class C Motorhome.
- Water hookups are also likely present for RVs and campers.
- A dump station is typically available at campgrounds catering to RVs, though not explicitly mentioned.
- Showers are available but require payment at a rate of $1.75 for 5 minutes, which one reviewer found "a bit ridiculous."
- There is no laundry room on-site.
- The location has addressed an outdated website concerning sewer hookups, indicating that some sites do offer this amenity, while others do not (as specifically noted, site 10 does not have sewer).
- Trash disposal is available, but one reviewer suggested the need for more dumpsters or bear-proof receptacles throughout the campground, as the existing one at the entrance was "rather far away" from some sites.
While the campground provides access to a lake and trails, potential campers should be aware of the lack of a laundry facility and the fee for showers. It's advisable to inquire about site-specific amenities like sewer hookups when making a reservation to ensure your needs are met.
Features:
The standout features of Drummond Lake Campground include its peaceful atmosphere, the direct access to Drummond Lake with a small beach, and the scenic hiking trail that loops around the park. The proximity to the town of Drummond, which is within walking distance and includes places like KD's Bear Den (recommended by a visitor), adds to its appeal by offering local flavor and convenience.
For pet owners, while not explicitly stated as a current feature, one reviewer suggested that "dog waste bags and receptacles throughout the campground, and an enclosed dog run would be great additions," implying that pets are likely welcome but with room for improvement in pet-specific amenities.
The fact that the management addressed the inaccurate website information regarding sewer hookups shows a responsiveness to customer feedback, which is a positive sign.
Promotional Information:
If you're a local user looking for a tranquil camping spot with lake access and hiking trails, Drummond Lake Campground could be a great option. Its peaceful environment and proximity to the charming town of Drummond offer a balanced experience of nature and local convenience. While you'll need to be prepared for paid showers and the absence of a laundry facility, the overall positive feedback regarding the campground's peacefulness and natural beauty suggests a worthwhile stay.

For travelers passing through, it seems like a pleasant and convenient stop. It's recommended to call ahead to inquire about site availability and specific amenities, especially regarding sewer hookups for RVs.

Drummond Lake Campground Reviews
My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights on our way to Minnesota (traveling in a 30ft. Class C Motorhome with no tow vehicle). The campground was peaceful and the hiking trail around the park was nice. There's lake access with a little beach. There is no laundry room and you have to pay for showers.Cute little town within walking distance. I'd recommend checking out KD's Bear Den. We'd stay here again if passing through.
Sep 25, 2024 · Kelly DresslerThis is a nice campground, with a few small caveats. The web site was not up to date with regard to which sites do and don't have sewer (hint: site 10 does not). There could also be another dumpster or two (or bear proof trash receptacles) throughout the campground, not just at the entrance which is rather far away. Dog waste bags and receptacles throughout the campground, and an enclosed dog run would be great additions. The shower price of $1.75 for 5 minutes is a bit ridiculous. Update: After we brought it to their attention, they did fix their web site so it's correct now.
Aug 08, 2022 · David BottomleyThis is a wonderful little campground. There are two loops (upper and lower). Lower is wooded. Upper is not. It seems to be geared to UTV riders with a trail right there. We used it as a base to tour the northern waterfalls, kayak out of Bayfield and ride moped on Madeline Island. It was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go.Its very clean, very quiet and reasonably priced.
Aug 12, 2024 · Debbe LHidden Gem. I stayed at this campground for 3 nights during an ATV trip in the Clam Lake area. This campground was very well kept. I appreciated the clean restrooms/showers and the 20/30/50A hookups options available at the sites. I stayed on site 13 and 16 for different nights and each was great.
Aug 03, 2021 · Dan LagroSmall, quiet city campground. If you like to hike or atv ride your in luck! Not much else to do unless you want to travel a little bit. We stay here for the relaxation!!
