ROAM Adventure Basecamp Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Hayward, Wisconsin area? Consider ROAM Adventure Basecamp, located at 13622N Janet Rd, Hayward, WI 54843, USA. You can reach them at (715) 634-7626 or +1 715-634-7626. Based on several positive customer reviews, this basecamp offers a beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations including cabins, and convenient access to nature and recreational activities.
The environment at ROAM Adventure Basecamp is consistently described as beautiful and feeling like "being deep in the woods," suggesting a tranquil and natural setting. One reviewer specifically mentioned the "beautiful setting" and the large window in the cabins overlooking the forest, enhancing the connection with nature. The location is also praised for its proximity to trails, making it a fantastic base for hiking and outdoor exploration. Additionally, there's a nice swimming lake located just a few miles away, providing an option for water-based recreation during your stay.
In terms of services and features, ROAM Adventure Basecamp offers a range of amenities. They have "really nice, clean and efficient" cabins available for those who prefer a more structured accommodation. For tent campers, the campsites are described as nicely spaced and equipped with a large fire ring and a picnic table. It's important to note that the sizing of the campsites is not uniform, so if you are bringing a group or a camper, it's advisable to be aware of this when booking. One reviewer found site 11 suitable for two tents and an awning, but noted that a site across the road would have been too small. The traditional campsites do not have electric or water hook-ups and are very shaded, so campers should plan accordingly for their power and water needs.
The campground provides shower buildings that are reported to be clean and spacious with good water pressure. However, it's worth noting that the showers are pay-per-use. As a convenient addition, there is a free external pre-shower/bike wash station, essentially a hose, which is appreciated by visitors for rinsing off gear or themselves before using the paid showers. Bathroom facilities include either "the nicest pit toilet" one reviewer had seen or centrally located plumbed unisex restrooms, both of which are reportedly kept in good shape. All campsites are conveniently located relatively close to a bathroom.
For those planning to have campfires, ROAM Adventure Basecamp sells campfire wood at a reasonable price ($5 per bundle), and it is covered, ensuring it remains nice and dry, which is a thoughtful touch for campers. The overall atmosphere of the campground is described as quiet and friendly, contributing to a pleasant and relaxing stay.
For local users searching for "camping near me," ROAM Adventure Basecamp offers a compelling blend of natural beauty, well-maintained facilities, and convenient access to outdoor activities. Whether you prefer the comfort of a clean and efficient cabin with forest views or a traditional tent campsite nestled in the woods, this basecamp caters to different preferences. The proximity to trails is a significant advantage for hikers, and the nearby swimming lake adds another dimension to the recreational opportunities. The availability of clean shower and bathroom facilities, even with the showers being pay-per-use, contributes to a comfortable camping experience.
The fact that campsites are spaced nicely adds to the feeling of being immersed in nature. However, the non-uniform sizing of the sites and the lack of electric/water hook-ups at the traditional campsites are important considerations for those with specific needs or larger setups. The shaded nature of the campsites is beneficial for keeping cool but might affect solar charging for those relying on it.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the reviews. To inquire about any special offers, seasonal rates, or to get more details about cabin and campsite availability, it would be best to contact ROAM Adventure Basecamp directly at the phone numbers provided: (715) 634-7626 or +1 715-634-7626. In conclusion, ROAM Adventure Basecamp in Hayward, Wisconsin, is a highly regarded campground offering a beautiful and quiet setting ideal for nature lovers and those seeking outdoor adventures. With comfortable cabins and well-maintained campsites, along with clean facilities, it provides a pleasant experience for various types of campers. The proximity to trails and a swimming lake further enhances its appeal. Local users looking for a "camping near me" experience that combines natural beauty with convenient amenities should definitely consider ROAM Adventure Basecamp. It is recommended to call ahead to discuss campsite sizes if you have specific needs, and to inquire about any current promotions.

ROAM Adventure Basecamp Reviews
Love this place, we have stayed twice. It’s a beautiful setting, the cabins are really nice, clean and efficient with a large window on the back overlooking the forest. There is a nice swimming lake only a few miles away too.

Oct 19, 2024 · Jessica RiskedahlThis place is fantastic! Love that it is set off a dirt road in the country but still close enough to towns to run in for coffee, food or outings. The cabins are perfectly set up and can sleep up to 6 people! They are simple but well designed. The fire pit has a cooking rack and they provided chairs. We will definitely be back!
Oct 08, 2023 · Katie KiesowWell-maintained and quiet campsite nestled in the Cheq forest with close access to trails. I have stayed here multiple times and only had great experiences.I realized today that none of the other reviews show the facilities. The cleanliness of the bathrooms heavily influences my mom’s decision to go camping. I am attaching pictures of the inside of the bathrooms to show how clean they always are. It feels like I’m using a bathroom in someone’s house rather than in the middle of the woods. Mom approved!
Aug 24, 2023 · Milo AmbordI've stayed at this campground twice now and I can't say enough good things about it. The sites are spaced out enough to feel somewhat secluded. The bathrooms and shower houses are immaculate and feel great after a day on the trails. If you get a chance, the sauna is amazing! They have bike wash station and hydration fill up near the shower houses. I plan to check out the cabins this winter for some fat biking. I agree with all the other good reviews, this is a place to come back to time and time again. The owners are super friendly and full of knowledge. Highly reccomend this campground if you are going to be staying in the Seely/Hayward area.
