This addition underscores a commitment to safety and responsible wildlife management, ensuring campers can store their food and scented items securely, protecting both their belongings and the local bear population. The availability of "potable water" is another critical service, providing campers with safe drinking water, which is a significant convenience in a rustic setting. I was raised here. Many memories made. Gathered together this trip to remember and honer our mother Dixie Gale Allen. 7-18-2024 The six children spread her remains (Not in campground) around the place she loved. Camp ground has lots of shade, fire pits, picnic tables, Bear boxes are new( I have never seen a bear here in 44 years), potable water, brick pit toilet's. Make reservations early in the year for summer time. Bring supplies town is 13 miles away. Get out, get grounded. Great fishing and swimming. Some have not learned that this is home to many not just people. Please clean up trash, if others leave things about and your able please help keep it clean and safe.
Jul 21, 2024 · Roger MoellmanAnother great day to be alive and free riding dirt bikes at Cal-Ida campground. Never allow anyone or anything to steal your joy life's way too short not to. Godspeed.
Jun 11, 2024 · Darren Woodworththis campground is located near the town of Downieville California. It is a real beauty and has a tendency to fill up during the summer so be sure to make a reservation. There are plenty of camp spots and most are pretty spacious. They provide a bear box for storage and a fire ring/bbq. There are shady spots, sunny spots, creekside spots and a few in between. Many grassy areas as well. There are restrooms but no showers. Located close to small cafe and general store. Just past the camp grounds if you follow the road up only about 1/4 mile you will see the wonderfall waterfall and swimming hole. Do be advised that many choose not to wear clothes so if your shy probably not your swimming hole. For all others...DIVE IN!
Oct 26, 2018 · Julie SandumEnjoy this beautiful peaceful place 2 or 4 times a year every year with my family and the best part is no signal for any device no cellphone...
Jul 14, 2019 · Ramiro Abarca JrI was pleasantly surprised at this campground. The camp host was super nice, friendly and helpful. This was our first time staying at this campground and definitely not last. Each camp site has a metal Bear box, picnic table and fire ring with grilling rack over it. . Bathrooms are not flushable but surprisingly clean. And there's a water spigot in the general area along with two 2 yard trash bins. . Everything you need to get out and explore.
