Deadwood Acres Hideaway Reviews
Great little cabin in the woods. Close to town yet secluded. A few other cabins are nearby, but still nice privacy. Five of us fit comfortably, but beware - not much headspace in sleeping lofts. If you're older and less agile, I would opt for a different cabin with 1st floor sleeping quarters as the ladders to the lofts are a bit steep. It was an awesome place to stay and came well-furnished, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely recommend.
Jun 11, 2024 · DAWN QUIGLEY MCCLUREPeaceful little cabins in the trees. 15 acres to explore with a creek.Great location. Close to town yet far enough away to not have all the late night after float noise.
Aug 25, 2024 · Karen TetleyDepends on what you expect. We're on a budget and this was perfect and the least expensive. It says one bedroom, but it is more properly, a studio.....no interior walls except the bathroom which was great, modern, shower only, and clean. In and out was cowboy, rustic. Interior was plywood with a burned design from floor though ceiling. Bed was great for 2. Brought a single inflatable bed for sister on floor w/dog. Plenty of outlets if you look for them, but glad we brought extension cords for nebulizers and CPAPs....yeah, we're old. The futon could use some repair. There was only one teaspoon thanks to prior tenants, but we were ok with plastic ones we had from ice cream treats on the way...yeah, we're fat. But in this low priced, basic cottage here's what I found. The most unbelievable head board I've ever seen like a tree trunks or a long, thick root all sanded and varnished beautifully. Outside the deck was top drawer with heavy guaged deck fencing with thick and wide tree slabs on top, again, all sanded and varnished with random wavyness on the edges. It must have cost a bundle on this little cabin. Hummingbird feeder just off the deck that was always busy And...the best location of the group of cabins. Also, the cabins are not close together. You don't feel closed in. There is a microwave, about a 3 ft High fridge with 2 ice trays but it was a hundred degrees. 1 minute away is Dollar Genl so bought ice as needed. No stove. Cooking in? I'd recommend an electric skillet, and appropriate recipes. Also, it's very short on space to set things on. If you have some TV trays I'd bring them. Brought along an iron skillet and briquettes and made breakfasts outside. We weren't here for the cabin. We just wanted a clean place to sleep, get up and out to be on the river and tour the area for ponds and caves, etc. We thought it was all great. Wished we had our legs from 30 years ago!
Aug 27, 2023 · Skip GorzMeticulously clean. Picked (literally 2 days ahead) an area as a halfway point; ....rare find indeed. Completely understand why he is booked solid. Very close to town. Dollar General has fresh produce and only one ATM, the gas station is the liquor store with a surprisingly good variety, FYI. Myrtle Distilled Spirits, yep real moonshine, smooth and OMG. Deadwood Acres has a stellar owner who has the little things included that humans forget to bring. Nope, that is for you to be pleasantly surprised by if you stay. Will be back!
Nov 26, 2021 · Kellie BourgeoisVery friendly owner and staff. Was clean and nice. Set back in the woods and fairly private.
