Shawnee Creek Horse Camp Introduce
Looking for the perfect camping escape near you? If tranquility, privacy, and the beauty of nature are high on your list, then Shawnee Creek Horse Camp, nestled at 18415 County Road 211 in Eminence, Missouri, might just be your ideal destination. Situated within easy reach for local adventurers seeking a peaceful retreat, this small and charming campground offers a unique experience, particularly for those traveling with horses or simply seeking a serene environment.
As the name suggests, Shawnee Creek Horse Camp caters exceptionally well to equestrians. The campground features covered stalls constructed with secure wire, ensuring the safety and comfort of your horses. These well-maintained stalls provide essential shelter, giving you peace of mind to relax and enjoy your time. Each site is also equipped with both water and electric hookups, adding a layer of convenience that enhances your camping experience.
While the initial campsites are conveniently located, the owners also indicate that there are additional sites situated across the creek. Although one visitor noted that their larger rig seemed too big for the crossing, the owners assure that many do traverse it. This potential for more secluded spots further emphasizes the campground's commitment to providing a sense of privacy and immersion in nature.
One of the standout features of Shawnee Creek Horse Camp, repeatedly highlighted by visitors, is its proximity to the area where wild horses roam freely. Imagine the delight of witnessing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat – a truly unforgettable experience. One reviewer excitedly shared that they encountered the wild horses on three separate occasions during their stay, making this campground a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike.
Beyond the equestrian facilities and wildlife encounters, Shawnee Creek Horse Camp offers a laid-back and friendly atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the welcoming nature of the owners, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable stay. The affordability of the campground is also a significant advantage, making it an accessible option for those seeking a budget-friendly camping experience without compromising on quality or natural beauty.
While the campground itself doesn't have a dump station, this is conveniently addressed by the proximity of state campground dump stations, easily accessible on your way to or from Shawnee Creek Horse Camp. This minor detail doesn't detract from the overall positive experiences reported by campers.
The location of Shawnee Creek Horse Camp strikes a balance between seclusion and accessibility. While situated near a gravel road, it still manages to maintain a sense of being somewhat secluded, allowing you to truly unwind and connect with nature. The campground is also conveniently accessible for larger vehicles, with one reviewer successfully navigating their 30-foot motorhome to the site.
Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects of this campground is its direct access to the river. The opportunity to camp right on the riverbank offers stunning scenery and the soothing sounds of flowing water, creating a truly tranquil ambiance. Whether you enjoy fishing, simply relaxing by the water, or taking in the picturesque views, the riverfront location adds an extra layer of charm to your camping experience.
It's worth noting that one past visitor mentioned the potential for dust in dry weather conditions. However, this was not an issue during their stay, and it's a common consideration for many campgrounds, particularly in drier seasons. Despite this minor point, the overwhelming sentiment from visitors is one of great satisfaction and a strong desire to return.
For local users searching for "camping near me" that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and specific amenities like horse stalls, Shawnee Creek Horse Camp stands out as a compelling option. Its friendly atmosphere, affordable pricing, proximity to wild horses, and riverfront location make it a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Whether you're an avid equestrian, a nature lover, or simply seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, consider Shawnee Creek Horse Camp for your next camping adventure. You can reach them at (646) 372-3536 or +1 646-372-3536 to inquire about availability and make your reservations. Shawnee Creek Horse Camp Reviews
This is a small little campground. If you want quiet and privacy....this is the place to go. Covered stalls are made out of covered wire were very safe. Water and electric. There are more sites across the creek but our rig just seemed to big for the. Though owners say lots cross it. This is right down the street from where the wild horses are...we saw them three times! Will definitely go back!
Oct 27, 2020 · Tami VromaMy wife & I went camping there Easter week. We had a great time. Its laid back & the people are very friendly and the price is great. There isnt a dump station but either way you get there, there are state camp ground dump stations so that was no hastle at all. Your close to a gravel road but still secluded somewhat. It was very convenient for a 30 foot motor home & You are definitely right on the river!!! Great owners, great scenery & a great relaxing time, couldnt ask for much more. It might be a bit dusty in dry weather but wasnt an issue for us. I'm sure we will go back someday
