Hub City RV Introduce
For local residents and travelers searching for "camping near me" in or around Yoakum, Texas (zip code 77995), Hub City RV, located at 1305 Carl Ramert Dr, presents a camping option with both positive aspects and areas noted for potential improvement by recent visitors. Contactable by phone at (361) 293-5682 or mobile at +1 361-293-5682, Hub City RV appears to cater to both tent campers and RV travelers, with a significant presence of long-term residents.
The environment of Hub City RV is not extensively described in the provided reviews. However, the fact that a bicycle traveler with a dog found it to be an "excellent tent camping" location suggests that there are suitable areas for tent setups. The presence of long-term residents implies a more established park setting rather than a purely transient campground. One reviewer mentions an issue with an "excessive amount of trash around their RVs" among some long-term residents, indicating that the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the park might be inconsistent depending on the area. This suggests that while some parts of the park may be well-maintained, others could benefit from more attention to cleanliness.
In terms of services, Hub City RV offers at least basic amenities for campers. The positive experience of the tent camper implies the availability of suitable ground for tents and potentially access to water and possibly electricity, though this is not explicitly stated. The mention of needing to call to have the electricity box unlocked suggests a somewhat unusual procedure for accessing power, at least in some areas of the park. One reviewer noted that the "Officer that helped us was very nice and informative" in this process, which is a positive aspect of the service provided during that specific interaction. However, this system of requiring a call for electricity access might be inconvenient for some guests.
The reviews also highlight concerns regarding the cleanliness of the restrooms. One visitor stated that "the restrooms were not clean" and, more concerningly, that "someone has removed the shower heads from the lady's showers." These comments point to potential issues with the maintenance and upkeep of essential facilities, which could significantly impact the comfort and satisfaction of campers. The lack of shower heads in the women's restroom is a serious deficiency that needs to be addressed. The suggestion of having a "Park Hosts camped at the entrance of the park" indicates a perceived need for a more visible on-site presence for management and potentially security or assistance for guests.
Features of Hub City RV appear to include both short-term and long-term camping sites, catering to different needs. The park accommodates tent camping, as evidenced by the positive review from a bicycle traveler. It also serves as a longer-term residence for some individuals with RVs. The location in Yoakum provides proximity to local amenities, as one reviewer who visits family nearby mentions spending an average of $500 per visit in Yoakum, primarily at HEB (for food and gas) and Dairy Queen, indicating that the park is conveniently located for accessing local businesses and supporting the local economy. This could be seen as an indirect feature for those who value access to these services during their stay.
Promotional information is limited and somewhat mixed. The positive review from the tent camper ("Excellent tent camping... we both had a fine time") serves as a positive testimonial for those specifically interested in tent camping. The mention of friendly and informative assistance from a local officer regarding electricity access is also a positive interaction. However, the concerns raised about trash, restroom cleanliness, and missing shower heads present significant drawbacks that potential visitors should be aware of. The fact that one family camps there regularly due to proximity to family and contributes to the local economy might appeal to others visiting family in the area, but it's not a general promotional aspect of the park itself.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Yoakum, TX, Hub City RV offers a location within the town, providing easy access to local services and businesses. This could be a significant advantage for those needing to run errands or wanting to explore Yoakum. The park accommodates both tent and RV camping, making it a versatile option. However, the reported issues with cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms, and the unusual procedure for electricity access are important considerations. Potential visitors might want to inquire about the current status of these issues before booking a stay.
The suggestion for a Park Host at the entrance indicates a perceived lack of on-site management presence, which could affect the overall guest experience and the timely resolution of issues. While the park serves a purpose for those with local connections or those needing a stopover in Yoakum, the feedback suggests that improvements in maintenance and potentially management oversight could enhance the quality of the camping experience for all visitors.
In conclusion, Hub City RV in Yoakum, TX, offers a convenient location for "camping near me," accommodating both tent and RV campers and providing access to local amenities. While one reviewer had a positive experience with tent camping, other feedback highlights concerns regarding the cleanliness of the park, particularly around long-term RV sites and in the restrooms, as well as an unusual procedure for accessing electricity. Potential local users should weigh these factors and consider inquiring about the current conditions and management practices at Hub City RV before making a decision for their camping needs.

Excellent tent camping. I rode in on a bicycle with my little dog, and we both had a fine time.
Apr 19, 2025 · Mike AustinLots of "long term residents " have an excessive amout of trash around their RVs. Park needs to be cleaned out. Maybe if the local law enforcement came around a few times a day6 months later:City has made a change. You now have to call and request someone to come out and unlock the electricity box for you. The Officer that helped us was very nice and informative. 👍👍This park could really benefit by having a Park Hosts camped at the entrance of the park. The restrooms were not clean. Someone has removed the shower heads from the lady's showers. We camp here because we have family in the Home across the street. We spend on average 500.00 per visit in Yoakum. Mostly at HEB (food and Gas) and DQ. We try to help your locak economy when we are there. We plan to be back around August 4th, to go to St. Joseph's Church Picnic.See ya there
Jun 28, 2024 · Marie GuardiolaSpent a week here. There is a circle of paved sites that are full hookup 30amp. Separate from the park are about 20 sites that are full hookup 50amp but are on grass. We parked in the 50amp area and were concerned about soft spots especially after half inch of rain. The entrance to the 50amp area has a drop off from the highway blacktop and then a steep decline. We will have to leave by driving across the grass to the 30amp area because it'll too much stress trying to drive the coach out the way we came in. Nice stay, prices very fair, although road noise during the daylight hours. Update - yes it was soft. Coach front wheels had to be placed on boards to get out. Then stay off all the grass.
