Broken Oak River Park Reviews
We just finished our second camping trip at Broken Oak. It is such a beautiful and serene place. The campsites are well spaced out and each has its own scenic views of the land. There is so much for the kids to explore from seeing cows, swinging in a secret garden, walking trails, playing in the creek, and a treasure hunt. The kids raved about the treasure hunt for weeks. On our second stay the owner had set up a new treasure hunt with a whole new map and theme. The property is also dog friendly and our dogs were able to be off leash the entire time, except after dark. It is a wonderful place to let your kids and dogs run free.Currently it is dry camping and you must pack in and pack out all garbage but the owner is working on installing bathrooms. You can see all the love the owner is pouring into this property. We are are so excited to keep coming back and seeing all the improvements and to see the beauty of the property through every season. This is one of our most favorite spots to get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston and relax in nature. Also there are multiple places to shop for needed supplies within a 10 minute drive.
Jan 23, 2025 · Christinea De ElloI want to Echo my wife's review. This is a fantastic place to go hang out with the family! It's very chill and quite and plenty of nature to take your time exploring with the kids. We ended up spending over an hour just in the river bed playing in the water and sand.
Jan 22, 2025 · Ruston RaybonOur family had so much fun hiking. We got sidetracked playing in the creek, so we did not get to finish the trail. I'm looking forward to going back again.
