Iron Mountain Campground Introduce
For local users actively searching within the "camping near me" category, Iron Mountain Campground, located at 198 Iron Mountain Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923, USA, presents a camping option in the Arkadelphia area. The contact phone numbers provided are (870) 246-5501 and +1 870-246-5501. It is crucial for prospective campers to carefully consider recent feedback from fellow campers before making a decision, as the reviews highlight some significant issues that may impact the overall camping experience.
Based on the available reviews, the environment of Iron Mountain Campground appears to have both positive and negative aspects. One reviewer mentions that the campground is "pretty," suggesting that the natural surroundings may be appealing. Arkadelphia is located in a region of Arkansas known for its natural beauty, likely featuring woodlands and possibly proximity to water bodies or other scenic features. However, this positive aspect is overshadowed by concerns raised in both reviews. One camper specifically points out being "flooded with light from the street light outside the bathroom," indicating a potential issue with nighttime lighting that could detract from the natural camping ambiance and interfere with sleep. This suggests that while the inherent natural environment might be attractive, the developed infrastructure within the campground could detract from a fully immersive outdoor experience. Local users who value darkness at night for stargazing or a more natural sleeping environment should take this into consideration.
The services and features of Iron Mountain Campground, as gleaned from the limited reviews, present a mixed picture. One positive note is that the "current camp host is very nice," suggesting that the campground management or staff are helpful and welcoming. This can significantly enhance the overall camping experience by providing assistance and addressing concerns. However, other aspects mentioned in the reviews raise concerns about the quality of the services and features. One reviewer noted that "Site 55 unlevel," which could pose challenges for setting up tents or leveling RVs, potentially leading to discomfort and inconvenience. The mention of "very narrow roads" within the campground could also be a significant issue, particularly for larger RVs or those towing trailers, potentially making navigation and maneuvering difficult and stressful. The layout of campsites is also questioned, with one reviewer noting that the "fire pit for the site next door is directly behind our parking spot," indicating a potentially awkward and unsafe arrangement. These comments suggest that while basic camping services might be available, the quality and design of the infrastructure and individual campsites may be inconsistent or poorly planned in certain areas. Local users should inquire about the specific site they are booking and the layout of the campground to avoid potential inconveniences.
The most prominent feature, unfortunately, is the significant problem with ants, as highlighted emphatically by one reviewer who stated, "BELIEVE WHAT EVERYONE HERE SAYS!! Massive ant problems at this campground!!" This strong warning, urging others to "do yourself a favor, and don't go" due to ants, suggests that this is not an isolated incident but a pervasive issue that could severely impact the comfort and enjoyment of any camping trip. Dealing with a massive ant infestation can be unpleasant, unhygienic, and potentially damaging to camping gear and food supplies. This issue appears to be a major drawback that potential visitors should seriously consider. Additionally, one reviewer reported issues with noise from other campers, including "loud" arrivals late at night, "dogs barking," and "music playing." This indicates a potential lack of enforcement of quiet hours or a generally noisy environment, which could be disruptive for campers seeking a peaceful retreat. The combination of ant problems, disruptive lighting, uneven sites, narrow roads, and potential noise issues paints a concerning picture of the overall camping experience at Iron Mountain Campground based on these recent reviews.
Currently, there is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals for Iron Mountain Campground. Local users interested in this campground would need to contact them directly at (870) 246-5501 or +1 870-246-5501 to inquire about pricing, availability, and any potential discounts for local residents or extended stays. However, given the significant negative feedback in the recent reviews, it would be prudent for potential campers to also inquire specifically about the ant problem and any measures the campground is taking to address it, as well as any policies regarding noise control and site leveling. Understanding the campground's response to these issues could provide valuable insight into the likelihood of having a positive camping experience.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" near Arkadelphia, AR, Iron Mountain Campground (198 Iron Mountain Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923, phone: (870) 246-5501 or +1 870-246-5501) presents a location with some potential for natural beauty. However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns that should not be overlooked. The presence of a "massive ant problem" is a major deterrent highlighted by one reviewer. Additionally, issues with disruptive nighttime lighting, unlevel campsites, narrow roads, a potentially awkward site layout, and noise from other campers are also reported. While the current camp host is described as "very nice," this positive aspect may not outweigh the numerous negative experiences shared by other campers. Local users are strongly advised to weigh these concerns carefully and potentially seek alternative campgrounds in the area that may offer a more comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. If considering Iron Mountain Campground, it is essential to contact them directly to inquire about the issues raised in the reviews and to get a clear understanding of the current conditions and policies.

Iron Mountain Campground Reviews
BELIEVE WHAT EVERYONE HERE SAYS!! Massive ant problems at this campground!! Do yourself a favor, and don't go. Site 55 unlevel. Very narrow roads. Current camp host is very nice. ANTS though!!
Oct 26, 2024 · Kirk BergerePretty, but flooded with light from the street light outside the bathroom. I understand you have to see, but do better ACOE. Campers were loud, coming in at almost midnight. Dogs barking, music playing. Ugh. Also, fire pit for the site next door is directly behind our parking spot. Weird layout and sooo much light!
Apr 07, 2024 · Jeannie CorpThe lot was very sloped and small. Many of the lots were infested with ants. We wound up moving to a vacant site. The music and noise from the boats was horrible. Not very crowded at all, but now I understand why.
May 05, 2024 · Rich HulswitSite 41 has an ants. I had an ant infestation, and it cut our camping trip very short. Got there at 7:30pm the night before and decided to leave at 4 am when I had ants crawling on me. Check your site before you park. I even sprayed everything, making contact with the ground.
Jun 22, 2024 · Matt PowellWe went with 7 adults and 2 young children and had a wonderful time. 5 of us stayed in lakefront cabin and the rest in camper. Everything was wonderful…The cabin, the lake, and the grounds around cabin. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back! The only negative was the bike trails were overgrown with brush and lots of poison ivy!
