If you're searching for "camping near me" and dreaming of a lakeside getaway with ample space, clean facilities, and access to exciting outdoor activities, then Alpine Ridge, located at 729 Channel Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923, is a destination worth exploring. Situated in the beautiful region of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Alpine Ridge offers a fantastic camping experience on the shores of the stunning DeGray Lake, catering to a variety of campers seeking natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
Based on the enthusiastic reviews from recent visitors, Alpine Ridge appears to be a truly enjoyable "camping near me" option. One first-time camper at Alpine Ridge described their experience as "really nice!" highlighting the overall positive impression of the campground. While they noted a specific issue with campsite 12 – the orientation of the camper relative to the amenities and some challenging terrain around the pad – their overall assessment of the place was "amazing." This suggests that while individual sites may vary, the general atmosphere and offerings of Alpine Ridge are highly commendable.
The abundance of trees for shade is a significant environmental feature appreciated by campers at Alpine Ridge. The reviewer specifically mentioned, "Love all the trees for shade," indicating that the campground provides a welcome respite from the Arkansas sun, creating comfortable and enjoyable campsites even during warmer months. This natural shade enhances the overall camping experience, making it more pleasant to relax outdoors throughout the day.
Cleanliness is a top priority at Alpine Ridge, as evidenced by the positive feedback regarding the facilities. The bathrooms were described as "very clean" and "stocked with soap and paper towels," indicating a commitment to hygiene and guest comfort. The availability of "nice clean showers" is another significant amenity that elevates the camping experience, providing a refreshing way to clean up after a day of outdoor activities. The heated bathhouse mentioned by another reviewer further underscores the attention to guest comfort, especially during cooler seasons.
For families and those looking for recreational activities within the campground, Alpine Ridge offers a "swimming area/play ground" that is described as "nice" with "good shady areas." This suggests a well-maintained space for both relaxation and fun for children, with shaded spots allowing families to comfortably spend time outdoors. The presence of "a couple bench seats and one swinging bench" adds to the amenities, providing comfortable places to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Water enthusiasts will appreciate the "nice and close" boat ramp at Alpine Ridge. This feature provides convenient access to the gorgeous DeGray Lake, opening up opportunities for boating, fishing, kayaking, and other water-based activities. The beauty of the lake itself was highlighted by one reviewer who stated, "The lake is gorgeous," further emphasizing the appeal of this lakeside campground.
Beyond the immediate campground amenities, Alpine Ridge's location offers access to a wealth of outdoor adventures. One reviewer enthusiastically mentioned, "there are so many things to go see, do, explore.... And enough trails to keep a mountain biker or hiker busy for a long, long time!" This suggests that Alpine Ridge serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring the natural wonders of the Arkadelphia area and the Ouachita Mountains region. The availability of numerous trails caters to both leisurely hikers and more adventurous mountain bikers, promising endless opportunities for exploration and outdoor exercise.
The campsites at Alpine Ridge are generally well-regarded, with one reviewer noting that they "are all quite spacious and most have a great view." This spaciousness is a significant advantage, providing campers with ample room to set up their gear and enjoy their outdoor living area without feeling cramped. The potential for great views from many of the sites further enhances the camping experience, allowing guests to soak in the natural beauty of the lake and surrounding landscape.
While the majority of feedback is positive, one reviewer did offer a practical tip, mentioning that campers "Might need a longer water hose and electric cord." This suggests that while the hookups are available, the distance from the utility connections to some campsites might be a bit further than average, so it's wise for RV and camper owners to come prepared with longer connections.

Alpine Ridge Reviews
First time camping at alpine ridge and it was really nice! The site we were at 12 wasn't my favorite. The camper sits facing the water with everything else like the fire pit, table and lamp pole are behind it. Kinda weird. Leaves not much room to walk in front of camper door due to lots of huge tree roots and camper pad has a big drop off. So I'd probably mark site 12 off my list to reserve. Other than that the place is amazing. Love all the trees for shade. The bathrooms were very clean. They are stocked with soap and paper towels. Nice clean showers. The swimming area/play ground is nice. With good shady areas. Has a couple bench seats and one swinging bench. The boat ramp is nice and close. We really enjoyed our stay here. Definitely will come back!!
May 23, 2023 · Audrey LWe chose Alpine Ridge because it was 1) available, 2) on Recreation.gov, and 3) about half-way home.We are sooooo glad we did! This place is great! Heated bath house, nice showers, and toilets.... very clean and well stocked.Camp sites are all quite spacious and most have a great view. Might need a longer water hose and electric cord. The lake is gorgeous. And there are so many things to go see, do, explore.... And enough trails to keep a mountain biker or hiker busy for a long, long time!
Oct 19, 2022 · Clay AuteryFull of locals ignoring the rules. Three to four vehicles on each campsite along with a trailer, boat and screen tent. Dogs pooping in swimming beach while smokers look on.Boats on trailers parked haphazardly. When we arrived, someone was parked in our site.Boats were tied to trees at campsites.Fair amount of lookylous driving around.Nice sites, clean bathhouse, pines. Power boats are allowed on Lake but it wasn't bad with the noise. This camp ground would be great if the rules were enforced and the people are not allowed to ruin it.
May 10, 2021 · Dee DeeWeather was bad so we had to leave early and wasnt able to spend alot of time on the water but the views were beautiful, people were nice and the best place to go if you want to look at cool rocks, we found crystal, quartz (smokey and rose), flint and red rock. Swimming area was okay for kids... loved the installed porch swing couples can sit on while kids swim.
Jun 08, 2022 · Anna SilerWe use to love it. Over the last few years, Alpine Ridge has needed things done & so far all they did was add water to each site.after this year's flood they didn't even clean it much. This place was beautiful a 1 time. Now it's not. Last year several of us in our group fell because of the pads you put your campers on having drop-offs from rainwater washing it out. What did they do to fix it? They piled crushed rock up to fix it! Yep it didn't work!
