Jackson Wellsprings Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" with a unique twist, Jackson Wellsprings located at 2253 OR-99 N, Ashland, OR 97520, presents an interesting option. This establishment combines camping facilities with the renowned Jackson Wellsprings, known for its mineral-rich waters and healing environment. You can reach them at (541) 482-3776 or +1 541-482-3776 for inquiries. Based on recent customer feedback, let's explore the environment, services, and features of Jackson Wellsprings to help local users determine if it aligns with their camping and wellness needs.
Location and Accessibility:
Jackson Wellsprings is situated in Ashland, Oregon, a location known for its natural beauty and vibrant cultural scene. Its address on OR-99 N suggests relatively easy access from the main road. This accessibility is a significant factor for local campers looking for a convenient getaway. However, one review highlights a potential issue with the internal road conditions within the campground, particularly during the rainy season.
Environment and Ambiance:
The environment at Jackson Wellsprings appears to be multifaceted. One reviewer described the "back meadow" as a "magical place," suggesting a serene and potentially beautiful natural area within the property. This positive comment hints at the potential for a tranquil camping experience in certain sections of the grounds. The presence of a "Master" named Graelynn and the description of her as a "beautiful vessel of light" associated with this meadow suggests a spiritual or healing aspect to this particular area, which might appeal to those seeking more than just a traditional camping experience.
However, another review paints a less idyllic picture of the camping conditions. This reviewer stayed during March, the rainy season, and reported "huge potholes" that created "horrible conditions." These potholes apparently made driving around the campground difficult and walking nearly impossible without proper footwear like "knee high rubber boots." This suggests that the infrastructure of the camping area might be susceptible to significant degradation during wet weather, impacting the overall usability and enjoyment of the camping experience.
The stark contrast between the "magical" back meadow and the problematic road conditions indicates that the environment within Jackson Wellsprings might vary significantly depending on the specific location and the time of year. Potential campers should be aware of the possibility of muddy and difficult terrain, especially during or after periods of rain.
Services and Features:
The most prominent feature of Jackson Wellsprings, beyond its camping facilities, is its "hot springs pool." One reviewer described this amenity as "very nice." The presence of a hot springs pool offers a unique opportunity for relaxation and potential therapeutic benefits, setting this campground apart from more traditional camping locations. This could be a major draw for local users seeking a camping experience combined with wellness amenities.
The reviewer also mentioned a "locker room" associated with the hot springs pool, noting that it was "clean." This is a positive aspect regarding the hygiene and maintenance of at least one of the facilities. However, the same reviewer pointed out that the locker room was "very cold" and apparently lacked heating. This is a significant comfort issue, especially during cooler months, and potential visitors should be aware of this when planning to use the hot springs pool.
Beyond the hot springs pool and locker room, the provided reviews do not offer specific details about other camping services or amenities. Information regarding the availability of restrooms, showers (separate from the hot springs locker room), water sources, fire pits, picnic tables, or waste disposal is not included. Based on the limited information and the issues reported with the road conditions, it's possible that the camping facilities are somewhat basic and may not include all the amenities found in more developed campgrounds.
The mention of the "back meadow" being a "magical place" and the association with healing practices suggest that Jackson Wellsprings might also offer other wellness services or activities, although these are not detailed in the provided reviews. Local users interested in such offerings might want to inquire directly with the establishment.
Promotional Information and Target Audience:
While there isn't explicit promotional material in the provided text, the combination of camping and hot springs access is inherently a unique selling point. The positive description of the hot springs pool as "very nice" serves as a strong implicit promotion for this amenity. The mention of the "magical" back meadow and its association with healing could attract individuals interested in spiritual or wellness retreats in a natural setting.
However, the negative feedback regarding the muddy and pothole-ridden camping area during the rainy season is a significant factor that potential visitors need to consider. This suggests that the ideal time to camp at Jackson Wellsprings might be during drier periods of the year.
The target audience for Jackson Wellsprings appears to be diverse. It could attract local campers looking for a relaxing getaway with the added benefit of hot springs. It might also appeal to individuals interested in the healing or spiritual aspects associated with the back meadow. However, those seeking well-maintained camping infrastructure, especially during wet weather, might need to consider the reported issues.
The fact that one reviewer stated they "would not go back here" due to the camping conditions is a strong cautionary note that potential visitors should weigh against the positive aspects of the hot springs and the allure of the back meadow.
Objective Summary for Local Users:
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Ashland, Oregon, Jackson Wellsprings offers a unique blend of camping and access to a "very nice" hot springs pool. The presence of a "magical" back meadow with potential healing or spiritual significance adds another dimension to this location. However, potential campers should be aware of significant concerns raised about the condition of the camping area, particularly during the rainy season, with reports of "huge potholes" making driving and walking difficult.
While the hot springs pool and locker room are noted as clean, the locker room is reportedly cold. Information about other camping amenities is limited, suggesting a potentially basic level of service. The stark contrast in the descriptions of different areas within Jackson Wellsprings – the problematic camping area versus the appealing hot springs and the "magical" meadow – indicates a varied experience depending on location and potentially the time of year.
If you are a local camper primarily interested in the hot springs and are willing to potentially navigate challenging ground conditions during wet periods, or if the healing ambiance of the back meadow is a significant draw, Jackson Wellsprings might be worth considering, especially during drier months. However, if well-maintained camping infrastructure is a priority, it would be prudent to inquire about the current conditions of the camping area before making a reservation or visiting. The strong negative feedback from one camper regarding the camping experience should be taken into account when making your decision. Exploring other options within the "camping near me" category might be advisable for those seeking a more consistently positive camping environment.

Jackson Wellsprings Reviews
I wish I could give this place more than 2 stars. But our camping experience here brought the rating waaaay down. It was in March and the rainy season so I expect mud. But the huge potholes created horrible conditions. You could barely drive around and walking was nearly impossible without knee high rubber boots. It seems a truckload of gravel to go a long way to make this more hospitable. We honestly couldn’t wait to leave. The hot springs pool was very nice and the locker room there was clean. Very cold tho - I don’t think there is any heat in the locker room. I would not go back here.
Mar 29, 2025 · Carole MillerThe back meadow is a magical place. Graelynn is a Master of her craft & the most beautiful vessel of light. •*•+•°☆*•..☆+* °*+..•°☆°*•.•°☆+°•~
May 05, 2025 · Jennifer MarieTotally worth the $25 rent/car camping fee. 🚿 are hot and lithium strong!! Though small and no light in the only womens shower working 🤷♀️ so before dark and a water proof light helped!! No chair 🪑 to sit on either. So I used the toilet stall to get dressed. It's tiniest stall I've ever experienced (same as it was 10 years ago) but very clean!!!
Oct 14, 2024 · TwistedhippieAbsolutely amazing! Staff are friendly and have great energy. It's hard to take my son to some springs because clothing is optional, and hes not comfortable with that. Jackson Wellsprings is family oriented and suits are required during the day. Evenings are saved for the adults where clothing is optional and best yet, ladies night is on Monday!! The vibes are great. I can't wait to try one of the cabins by the little creek. Oh, my dogs love it too. They of course found the creek and had to do their own soaking. I also love how natural things are.
Apr 11, 2025 · Juniper SunThe hot pool is hot as is the steam room and sauna. The swimming pool is cool and a couple of laps makes for a manageable resetting cool dip so you can do it all over again. Changing rooms have lockers and space and Dr. Bronner in the soap dispenser. Family soak during the day and clothing optional soak in the evening mean there is something for everyone's preference. The grounds are interesting to wander around. I have paid to sleep in my truck here twice and had no issue. I use the bathroom when I soak and haven't used the campers bathrooms. This is not a luxury spa. It's a $10/soak wellsprings and it's a great price. No 90 minute restriction during my 2025 visit. Please bring your own towel and sit on it. Go to La Baguette in town for breakfast.
