Kellettville Recreation Area Campground Introduce
For local outdoor enthusiasts seeking a tranquil "camping near me" experience focused on nature and simplicity, the Kellettville Recreation Area Campground, situated on The Branch Rd, Tionesta, PA 16353, USA, offers a unique setting along a creek. You can contact them at (877) 444-6777 or +1 877-444-6777 for information, although reservations for many federal campgrounds are often managed through recreation.gov. Kellettville Recreation Area Campground appears to provide a more rustic camping experience with limited amenities, appealing to those who prioritize quiet and natural surroundings.
Based on the available local reviews, the environment at Kellettville Recreation Area Campground is characterized by its peacefulness and proximity to a creek. One reviewer specifically mentions liking the "quiet and being on the creek," highlighting the serene atmosphere and the natural beauty of the creek-side location. This suggests that campers can expect a more secluded and nature-immersed experience compared to campgrounds with more extensive facilities and higher traffic. The sound of the flowing creek likely adds to the tranquil ambiance, making it an attractive destination for those seeking a relaxing escape in nature. However, potential campers should be prepared for a more primitive setting, as indicated by the limited services.
The services at Kellettville Recreation Area Campground are described as "limited" in one of the reviews. Specifically, it notes "no electric, no water & sewage at sites." This indicates that the campsites are primarily designed for tent camping and do not offer hookups for RVs requiring electrical, water, or sewer connections. For RV campers, this would mean relying on their onboard systems and being prepared for dry camping. The review also mentions that "there is water available and a dump station and restrooms," which are essential amenities for any campground. However, it's crucial to note the update provided in the review: "there is not water available this early in the season. So bring water. There is no water for the dump station." This highlights the importance of checking the availability of water and other services, especially during the early or late seasons. The absence of showers is also explicitly mentioned, which is a significant consideration for longer stays or those who value hygiene facilities. The closure of restrooms early in the season, with only a porta-potty available, further underscores the need for self-sufficiency and preparedness.
The features of Kellettville Recreation Area Campground are centered around its natural setting and the opportunities it provides for a more traditional camping experience. The primary feature seems to be its location "on the creek," which likely offers opportunities for activities such as fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the peaceful presence of the water. The quiet atmosphere, appreciated by at least one reviewer, suggests that the campground is not geared towards large-scale recreational activities or events that might generate noise. The presence of a dump station is a feature that caters to RV campers who are self-contained, allowing them to manage their waste properly. The availability of restrooms (when open) and the porta-potty offer basic sanitation facilities. The fact that it gets "kinda busy during early trout season" indicates that the creek is likely a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts, suggesting this as a key feature and attraction of the campground during that time.
Promotional information specific to Kellettville Recreation Area Campground is not provided in the reviews. Generally, campgrounds managed by federal agencies like the Forest Service (which is often the case for recreation areas) may not have extensive promotional campaigns in the same way as private campgrounds. However, they may participate in broader initiatives to encourage outdoor recreation. Local users might find information about seasonal availability, permit requirements, or any special regulations on the relevant government websites, such as recreation.gov, where reservations for Kellettville Recreation Area Campground are likely managed. It's also possible that local tourism boards or outdoor recreation groups in the Tionesta area might provide information about this and other nearby camping options.
In conclusion, Kellettville Recreation Area Campground offers a more rustic and quiet "camping near me" experience for local users who appreciate being close to nature, particularly along a creek. The limited services, including the potential lack of water early in the season and the absence of showers and on-site hookups, require campers to be self-sufficient and prepared. The key features are its tranquil environment and creek-side location, which is particularly attractive to those seeking a peaceful retreat and, potentially, fishing opportunities during trout season. Local campers should check the current status of amenities, especially water and restroom availability, and be prepared for a more primitive camping experience. For reservations and the most up-to-date information, consulting recreation.gov is highly recommended.

Kellettville Recreation Area Campground Reviews
There are limited services here, no electric, no water & sewage at sites, but I like the quiet and being on the creek. There is water available and a dump station and restrooms, no showers.Update: 4-20-21 there is not water available this early in the season. So bring water. There is no water for the dump station. But you can still use the dump station. The restroom are closed too. But there's a porta-potty. It is actually kinda busy during early trout season
Apr 21, 2021 · J ParkesVery nice camping spots, restrooms could use a good cleaning, other than that .loved it.
May 14, 2023 · Doug DaumOnly campers here. Quiet peaceful and very cool, but it is mid October.
Oct 12, 2022 · Linda RitchieIf you like a primitive type of camping then this is your spot! It's quiet mostly except for the occasional disrespectful jagoffs that let their generator run all day and all night long even when they're not around the camper but other than that it's pretty perfect! The issue with generators is that they echo off the mountains that surround the campground and with no other noise to help drown it out it's SUPER LOUD so people please keep this in mind as not everyone wants to listen to your ac running while we're trying to make a mountain pie or SLEEP at night! There are zero amenities there. Maybe an outhouse, maybe not. One pavilion and that's it. No water, no electric, no games, no stations to clean out the camper waist. But like I stated it's super quiet and 90% of the time and , 90% of the people are awesome. One of my favorite spots in the whole world is rite here!
Jun 25, 2022 · Cee EssWe spent a week at site 11. The hosts were super nice and helpful. Cougar Bob's sells ice, kinda expensive but close. There was plenty of access to the creek without taking away from nature. We've been going there for over 20 years and this was the nicest year. And don't tell your kids but we have Verizon and always had service.
