Kiwanis Campground Introduce
For local users in search of a "camping near me" experience in the Weiser, Idaho area, Kiwanis Campground, located in Weiser, ID 83672, USA, offers a unique option for small groups of family and friends. Situated in the rolling hills of Washington County, this campground is presented as a "pretty sweet little retreat" ideal for those looking to gather in a single, dedicated camping spot. As part of the "camping near me" category, Kiwanis Campground caters to local residents seeking convenient and accessible outdoor spaces for recreational purposes, specifically highlighting its suitability for tent camping and group gatherings.
The environment of Kiwanis Campground is described as picturesque, with scenery that does not disappoint. Its location nestled in the rolling hills of Washington County suggests a natural setting with potentially scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere. A significant environmental feature is its adjacency to Mann Creek, which provides a "very pleasant and relaxing sound," enhancing the overall camping experience with the soothing presence of flowing water. This creek-side setting likely contributes to the natural beauty of the area and may offer opportunities for gentle streamside activities, although the depth and accessibility for such activities are not detailed in the provided reviews.
In terms of services, the information from the reviews is somewhat limited but provides key insights. Notably, Kiwanis Campground is described as a single spot, explicitly stating that RVs are not permitted. This makes it a dedicated area for tent camping groups. The capacity of this single spot is significant, with one reviewer estimating that it could easily accommodate up to three to four tents, depending on their size, and potentially more if the tents are smaller. This highlights its suitability for larger families or groups of friends wishing to camp together in close proximity. For basic convenience, the campground is equipped with an outhouse. However, one reviewer noted that the cleanliness of the outhouse could be improved, which is a point of consideration for potential users.
The primary feature of Kiwanis Campground, based on the available information, is its exclusivity as a single camping spot designed for group tent camping. This makes it ideal for those who value privacy and the ability to have a dedicated space for their gathering without other campers in close proximity. The picturesque scenery and the relaxing sound of Mann Creek further enhance its appeal as a natural retreat. The limitation to tent camping only might be a drawback for those with RVs but a benefit for tent campers seeking a more traditional outdoor experience.
Unfortunately, the provided reviews do not contain any information regarding promotional offers or discounts for Kiwanis Campground. As it appears to be a more informal or possibly publicly managed site (given the "Kiwanis" name, often associated with community organizations), information on pricing, reservations, and potential promotions might be obtained by contacting local authorities in Weiser or Washington County, or by searching for official websites or contact information related to the campground. Given the limited information online, direct inquiry would be the best approach to understand any costs involved and the process for securing the single camping spot.
An important point of concern raised in one of the reviews is the issue of littering. This reviewer noted the presence of trash, beer cans, broken glass, and nails at the site, expressing disappointment that some individuals do not respect the natural environment. While this feedback does not reflect on the inherent qualities of the campground itself, it serves as a crucial reminder for potential users to practice Leave No Trace principles and to be aware that the cleanliness of the area might vary depending on the behavior of previous visitors. It also suggests that regular maintenance and cleanup efforts might be needed at the site.
For local users considering Kiwanis Campground within the "camping near me" category, the key advantages appear to be its scenic location, the soothing presence of Mann Creek, and its capacity to accommodate a group of tent campers in a single, private spot. The availability of an outhouse provides a basic level of convenience. However, potential users should be aware of the reported cleanliness issue with the outhouse and the possibility of needing to bring their own solutions for waste disposal beyond this facility. The lack of RV access is also a significant factor for those traveling with recreational vehicles.
To make the most of a visit to Kiwanis Campground, local users should consider bringing ample trash bags to pack out all waste and perhaps even engage in a brief cleanup upon arrival to enhance their experience and contribute to preserving the natural beauty of the area. Being prepared for a more rustic camping experience, given the lack of mention of extensive amenities, would also be wise. The sound of Mann Creek suggests potential for wildlife viewing, so bringing binoculars might be a worthwhile consideration for nature enthusiasts. Finally, researching local regulations regarding camping and waste disposal in Washington County would be prudent to ensure a responsible and enjoyable visit.
In conclusion, Kiwanis Campground offers a unique "camping near me" option for local users in the Weiser, Idaho area who are looking for a single, picturesque spot to accommodate a group of tent campers. Its location in the rolling hills and proximity to Mann Creek provide a pleasant natural environment. While the availability of only an outhouse and the reported littering issue are factors to consider, the campground's exclusivity for group tent camping makes it a potentially ideal choice for families and friends seeking a private outdoor gathering space. Direct inquiry is recommended to obtain information on reservations, fees, and any specific guidelines for using the campground.

Kiwanis Campground Reviews
Kiwanis Campground, nestled in the rolling hills of Washington County, is a pretty sweet little retreat. This is a great place for family and friends to gather as it is only one spot, no RVs though. The spot would easily fit up to 3 to 4 tents depending on their size, maybe more if your tents are a smaller size. Mann Creek butt's up to the campground and makes for a very pleasant and relaxing sound. The spot also has an outhouse for convenience, although it could be cleaned a little more. Kiwanis campground was very picturesque, the scenery did not disappoint. I would stay here again.
Jul 12, 2020 · Karen DonderoCute little spot to stop while riding through manns creek, how ever because some people do NOT respect anything it is covered in trash, beer cans, broken glass and nails. Sad people have to ruin such nice areas.
Mar 24, 2022 · Mellissa CoonI agree with Melissa. What a treat to have a nice spot to stop. It has a biffy, fire ring, and a creek near by. What a shame that people don’t respect things, and leave such a mess. How hard is it to pick up your onion skins and put in a sack. Put the empty pop cans in your car and cigarette butts. Why would you shoot up a sign that doesn’t belong to you.? We won’t enjoy this spot much longer, because it’s possible that the National Forest or Kiwanis organization will close it. Pick up after yourself AND PACK IT OUT!!!!
