One reviewer recounted their adventurous journey to Moonshine Mine, remarkably making it in a Challenger. They described the road from Richland as "a ride!" noting that while it didn't have a lot of potholes, it was "super rocky and has several deep inclines." This suggests that accessing Moonshine Mine can be challenging and might require vehicles with higher clearance, although the reviewer's experience indicates that even some cars can manage with careful driving. However, they humorously added that they would "definitely come out here again out with a 4x4 truck lol," implying that a four-wheel-drive vehicle would be more suitable for the terrain.
This same reviewer highlighted the rewards of the journey, mentioning the enjoyment of the Snake River and the remoteness of the location, which provided a sense of seclusion. Their visit was also motivated by looking for bighorn sheep, though they were unsuccessful in spotting them on that trip. However, they did note finding "great camp spots to assist my spotting in the future," indicating that the area is conducive to wildlife observation and offers promising locations for camping.
Another reviewer simply stated, "Definitely beautiful. You have to find a good spot and if you do your golden." This concise feedback reinforces the idea that the area around Moonshine Mine possesses significant natural beauty. The comment about needing to "find a good spot" might suggest that the camping areas are somewhat dispersed or that certain locations within the broader Moonshine Mine area are particularly desirable for their views or ambiance.
Considering the platform category of "camping near me," Moonshine Mine stands out for its remote setting and access to the Snake River. The journey to get there is part of the experience, with road conditions that are described as rocky and having deep inclines, suggesting that while accessible to some cars, it's more ideally suited for higher-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicles. The remoteness appeals to those seeking solitude and a connection with nature, and the area holds potential for wildlife viewing, such as bighorn sheep.
The environment around Moonshine Mine, based on these reviews, seems to be characterized by rugged terrain, proximity to the Snake River, and a sense of being far from more developed areas. This could be particularly attractive to local users who prefer a more adventurous and less crowded camping experience. The beauty of the area is also consistently mentioned, making it a place where finding a good campsite could indeed lead to a rewarding experience.
However, the reviews do not provide specific details about the services or features of the campground itself. We don't know if there are designated campsites, restroom facilities, water sources, or other amenities typically found in more developed campgrounds. The focus of the feedback is more on the journey to the location, the natural beauty of the area, and its remoteness. Therefore, local users considering Moonshine Mine for "camping near me" should likely expect a more primitive or dispersed camping experience.
As there is no information on specific services, features beyond the natural environment, or any promotional offers, this introduction is based solely on the interpretations of the two provided customer reviews. Local users interested in camping at Moonshine Mine might want to do further research, possibly looking for online forums or maps that could provide more details about the camping possibilities and any regulations for the area. Contacting the provided phone numbers might also yield more information, although it's unclear what kind of entity manages the "Moonshine Mine" as a camping location.
In conclusion, Moonshine Mine near Richland, OR, appears to be a remote and beautiful area along the Snake River, offering a more adventurous "camping near me" option. Access can be challenging, with rocky roads and steep inclines, making higher-clearance vehicles preferable. The area is noted for its scenic beauty, remoteness, and potential for wildlife spotting. However, information about specific campground amenities is lacking, suggesting a more self-sufficient camping approach might be necessary. Local users seeking a rugged and secluded outdoor experience will likely find the allure of Moonshine Mine compelling.

Moonshine Mine Reviews
I freaking made it to moonshine mine in a freaking challenger! I took the road from Richland and it was a ride! Not a lot of potholes. But it's super rocky and has several deep inclines. I took that road better than all the pickups out there!Def will come out here again out with a 4x4 truck lol. It's manageable with a higher hp car or sedan. It was worth the short bumpy ride. Enjoyed snake river and remoteness to smoke a joint. I came out here looking for bighorns. No luck, but I found great camp spots to assist my spotting in the future.

Jun 06, 2020 · Alex RamellaWater level was way up so the boat launch was incredibly easy and accessible, maybe a different story when the water is low. Facilities were clean with a handful of camp spots. I would definitely go back.
Jun 07, 2023 · Justin ParkinsDry camping only! There is a lack of "developed" campsites, but there is potable bathrooms. There aren't many trees, so I the summer it gets hot very quickly. Beware of rattlesnakes here too. This is one of the only places to launch a boat when Idaho Power lowers Brownlee Reservoir's water level, but there isn't a dock, so bring some help.
Mar 10, 2020 · Tesmond HurdI use the campground for the boat launch. The road getting to it is washboard and dusty. The ramp is super nice and easy in and out. There is no docks to tie to if you are by yourself. There is rings in the ramp if you don't mind beaching your boat.
