Lake Cody Introduce
For local residents in search of "camping near me" that offers a tranquil and well-maintained environment, Lake Cody in Elida, Ohio, presents an appealing option. Located at 5775 Ottawa Rd, Elida, OH 45807, USA, this campground has garnered positive feedback from visitors, particularly for its peaceful atmosphere and convenient amenities.
According to recent reviews, Lake Cody stands out as a "quiet, peaceful place to stay." This is a significant draw for campers seeking a relaxing retreat away from the noise and bustle of everyday life. The campground seems to foster a serene environment that allows guests to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. One reviewer specifically mentioned that despite the presence of many full-time residents, they are "very nice and keep their sites nice," contributing to the overall positive and orderly atmosphere of the campground.
The well-kept grounds are another frequently praised aspect of Lake Cody. This attention to maintenance suggests that the campground management takes pride in providing a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for their guests. For local campers who value tidiness and a well-cared-for setting, Lake Cody appears to be a commendable choice.
Interestingly, one reviewer passing through the area on a cross-country trip noted Lake Cody as one of their favorite one-night stops. This speaks to the campground's appeal to both short-term and potentially longer-term visitors. The positive impression left on a transient camper suggests that Lake Cody offers more than just a basic overnight stay; it provides a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
A notable feature of Lake Cody is its convenient location immediately off the freeway. This accessibility can be a significant advantage for travelers, making it easy to find and reach. However, despite its proximity to the freeway, reviewers highlight that they "don't hear freeway noise," indicating that the campground is effectively shielded from the sounds of passing traffic, preserving its peaceful ambiance.
The size of Lake Cody is described as "not too large," which could contribute to its intimate and quiet atmosphere. Smaller campgrounds often offer a more personal feel and easier navigation compared to larger, more sprawling facilities. This manageable size might appeal to local campers looking for a less overwhelming and more community-oriented experience.
A key amenity at Lake Cody is a "small lake for swimming." This feature adds recreational value to the campground, providing a refreshing way for guests to cool off and enjoy some water-based activity during their stay. The presence of a swimming lake makes Lake Cody particularly attractive to families and individuals looking for more than just a place to park their RV or pitch a tent.
Adding to the recreational opportunities is a "biking/running path" that circles the small lake. This provides guests with a dedicated space for exercise and leisurely strolls or bike rides, all within the scenic surroundings of the campground. This thoughtful amenity caters to those who enjoy staying active while camping and enhances the overall appeal of Lake Cody as a well-rounded outdoor destination.
In terms of campsite infrastructure, Lake Cody offers "easy pull-through sites." This is particularly beneficial for RV owners, as pull-through sites eliminate the need for backing up, making parking and departure much simpler and less stressful, especially for larger rigs or less experienced drivers. However, one reviewer noted that "the signage was a bit unclear what to do when arriving," leading to a minor inconvenience. Local campers should be aware of this potential issue upon arrival and might benefit from having a campground map or clear instructions readily available.
A significant positive aspect of Lake Cody is the presence of the owner living on-site. The reviewer described the owner as "super nice," which suggests a personal touch in the management and a greater likelihood of attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere. Having the owner readily available can also be beneficial for addressing any questions or concerns that guests might have during their stay.
While the reviews provide valuable insights into the environment, some services, and features of Lake Cody, they do not include any specific promotional information. Lake Cody Reviews
I love this Campground! It is a quiet, peaceful place to stay. There are many full timers here, but they are very nice and keep their sites nice. The grounds are well kept. I would love to stay here again if I am in the area
Jul 03, 2023 · Rebecca AcquistapaceOf all the 1-night stops I've made crossing the country a few times, this was one of my favorites. It's immediately off the freeway but you don't hear freeway noise. Clean, not too large of a property. A small lake for swimming circled by a biking/running path.Easy pull-through sites although the signage was a bit unclear what to do when arriving so I did have to do a three-point turn with my trailer. The owner is super nice and lives on-site.
Jun 25, 2018 · Jessica FosterWe stayed here overnight, they have mostly long term guests many in old neglected rigs. There are 5 pull thru spots for transients which are wonderful, long enough that we didn't have to unhook, wide space between and perfectly level, full hook ups with city water. There's a lake and beach and stuff for kids to do if you need that, lots of kids and even a basket ball team. Over-all a great place easy access off hwy 30. Owners super friendly and welcoming.
Apr 26, 2021 · larry rensNice camp ground, the bathroom facilities are laking. Outhouse (it stinks) and a boxed shower house. So if you're looking for a nice shower house and bathrooms, hopefully you have them in your camper.
Jul 27, 2024 · Denny Purdy110v/30A/50A FHU, Looking into getting WiFi they told me.. Very well kept park. Quiet as far as noise from the nearby highway "been here 2.5weeks and never heard highway noise".Huge pond with very fun and large inflatables in there plus a lifeguard. Playground, showerhouses "unfortunately its got timer knobs so every 30 seceond you have to turn the water back on" Picnic area, a HUGE yard ,Fire rings are provided for all sites. There is a Shell Gas station just outside of the campground that has A LOT of amenities gasoline/Diesel, Propane, beer and wine, firewood and hand dipped icecream also a hot food menu. It does get a bit louder on the weekend. Most not all ppl. riding on golfcarts are respectful, but there is at least one person that apparently THINKS he is cool riding driving a golfcart playing rap music loud enough I hear him when I am outside from 10 sites down. Dont get me wrong I have very loud subwoofers in my car but no one knows that because I respect residential areas and ppl sleep all different hours...
