Lake Reidsville Park Introduce
For local residents seeking "camping near me" in the Reidsville, North Carolina area, Lake Reidsville Park, located at 630 Water Works Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320, USA, offers a lakeside setting with potential for a relaxing outdoor experience. Situated by Lake Reidsville, a significant local water body, the park likely provides opportunities for water-based activities and a natural environment for camping. However, recent customer reviews present a mixed picture, highlighting both positive aspects of the location and significant concerns regarding management and communication.
Environment and Location: The primary draw of Lake Reidsville Park is undoubtedly its location adjacent to Lake Reidsville. Lakes generally offer a serene environment with opportunities for fishing, picnicking, and enjoying waterfront views. One positive review notes the presence of "plenty of fish," suggesting that anglers might find this a desirable "camping near me" spot. The same review also describes the setting as "quiet and relaxing" with "plenty of room between sites," indicating a potentially peaceful and spacious camping experience. The natural sounds of the lake and surrounding environment can indeed provide a welcome escape for those seeking a tranquil retreat close to home.
The park's address on Water Works Road implies that it might be easily accessible for local residents of Reidsville and surrounding areas. A lakeside location often enhances the appeal for families and individuals looking to combine camping with water-based recreation or simply enjoy the natural beauty of a waterfront setting.
Potential Services and Features (Based on General Campground Expectations and Reviews): While specific details about all the services and features are not comprehensively listed, we can infer some based on general campground practices and the limited customer feedback:
- Campsites: It is evident that the park offers camping spots, and one reviewer mentions that they are "uneven" but are in the process of being asphalted to make them even. This suggests that the park is undergoing improvements to its infrastructure. The spaciousness between sites, as noted in a positive review, is a desirable feature for many campers seeking privacy and room to set up.
- Bathhouse Facilities: The mention of a "bath house" in one of the negative reviews indicates the presence of communal restroom and shower facilities. However, this review also details a serious safety concern regarding a shattered mirror in the bathhouse, highlighting a potential issue with the maintenance and safety of these facilities.
- Lake Access: Being a "Lake Reidsville Park," direct access to the lake for fishing and possibly other recreational activities like kayaking or canoeing is highly probable. The positive review mentioning "plenty of fish" supports this.
- Day-Use Area: The positive review suggests that the park is also suitable for day trips, mentioning "a nice afternoon trip or a all day picnic kind-of trip," indicating the potential availability of picnic areas and facilities for visitors who are not camping overnight.
- Camp Hosts: The detailed negative review mentions the presence of two camp hosts, Donna and Kimberly, suggesting that there is some level of on-site management and assistance for campers.
- Maintenance Staff: The involvement of a "maintenance man EDDIE" in one of the negative experiences indicates that there is staff responsible for the upkeep of the campground.
Customer Feedback Analysis: The provided customer reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the management and communication at Lake Reidsville Park. The overwhelmingly negative and detailed review raises serious red flags for potential local users:
- Lack of Communication and Conflicting Information: The reviewer describes significant issues with communication, stating, "NO ONE COMMUNICATES AT THIS PLACE!!!" They received conflicting information regarding the length of their stay from different staff members (Amanda, Donna, and CC), leading to confusion and ultimately a confrontation.
- Unprofessional and Rude Behavior by Staff: The maintenance man, Eddie, is described as "VERY RUDE MAN!!" and "hateful," reportedly telling the campers they had to move their camper immediately on a Sunday when they had planned to move on Monday.
- Unjustified Police Involvement: The most alarming aspect of the negative review is the claim that the maintenance man called the police on the campers for no apparent reason ("WHY CALL THE COPS ON ONE OF UR CAMPERS?? No crime had happened"). This raises serious concerns about the way campers are treated and the potential for unwarranted escalation of situations.
- Safety Hazard in Bathhouse: The incident with the bathroom mirror shattering and potentially endangering children is a critical safety issue that needs immediate attention. This highlights a lack of proper maintenance and poses a significant risk to park visitors.
- Inconsistent Policies and Favoritism (Alleged): The reviewer mentions that while they were told no more nightly reservations were being taken, other campers were allowed in, suggesting potential inconsistencies in policy enforcement.
- Uneven Camping Spots (Being Addressed): While the unevenness of the camping spots is noted as a negative, the reviewer also mentions that they are in the process of being asphalted, indicating an ongoing effort to improve the sites.
In stark contrast, the other review is entirely positive, praising the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, the abundance of fish, the cleanliness of the campground, and the spaciousness of the sites. This suggests that under different circumstances or for different campers, Lake Reidsville Park can offer a pleasant experience focused on nature and relaxation.
Promotional Information and Call to Action for Local Users (Proceeding with Caution): Lake Reidsville Park offers a lakeside setting in Reidsville, NC, potentially providing a tranquil "camping near me" experience with opportunities for fishing and enjoying nature. According to one reviewer, the park boasts a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with spacious campsites and is ideal for a peaceful getaway or a day trip for a picnic by the lake. The presence of camp hosts suggests some level of on-site assistance.
However, it is crucial for potential local users to be aware of the significant concerns raised in another recent review regarding communication issues, unprofessional staff behavior, alleged unjustified involvement of law enforcement, and a serious safety incident in the bathhouse. While the park appears to be undergoing some improvements to the campsites, these serious allegations warrant careful consideration and potentially direct inquiry with the park management before making a reservation.
If you are considering Lake Reidsville Park for your "camping near me" destination, it would be prudent to contact them directly at (336) 349-4738 to inquire about the current management practices, the status of the bathhouse facilities, and the policies regarding guest interactions. While the lakeside environment and potential for a quiet retreat might be appealing, addressing the serious issues raised in the negative review is paramount for a positive and safe camping experience. Please exercise caution and seek further clarification before planning your visit.

Lake Reidsville Park Reviews
WHY CALL THE COPS ON ONE OF UR CAMPERS?? No crime had happened……..We will NEVER COME BACK HERE! NO ONE COMMUNICATES AT THIS PLACE!!!‼️PLEASE READ WHOLE REVIEW‼️I came back to edit this review!!AFTER I POSTED THIS REVIEW (before we left the campground) Donna approached my husband coming outta the bath house and ask wasn’t we leaving this evening (not yet even 5:30pm) and he said yes my wife told you (and I did but she was counting change and on the computer, this morning and not really paying me attention) we would leave when I got off work, and she said also she just wanted to chk on us bc the maintenance man EDDIE IS THE ONE WHO CALLED THE COPS OUT HERE, but they never came back to my camper) ‼️After saying they couldn’t take anymore reservations not even nightly they allowed a camper in then today they let another one‼️There’s two camp host in the campground, Donna is one and so is Kimberly (very sweet lady, Donna is too)! We live in our 18ft Rockwood camper (temporarily) with our 2 boys. We came to this campground to stay here for a couple months. When we arrived they told us, they’re getting ready to start renovating the campsite and couldn’t take monthly reservations so we paid for a week and then day by day (talked to Amanda). We called others but all were booked so after talking to Donna she allowed us to stay til Dec7th (but no one ever told us a date we had to leave by) I called the office (talked to CC) dec 7th (Saturday) and she said we was suppose to leave that day but was fine to stay and pay on Monday. Well the maintenance man EDDIE, (and that’s all he is) came Sunday and told us we had to have our camper moved that day. VERY RUDE MAN!! He’s even hateful to the camp host here! We’re freaking out cause we can’t move the camper til Monday bc of no where to go til then. The other camp host told me to go talk to Donna Monday morning at 8:00 (I was there at 7:50am) talked to her told her we wld be moving this afternoon, she said ok! No problem. I’ve been sick so after taking my kids to school I came back and went to sleep. Woke up to a man (didn’t kno who at the time) beating on the door but he left before I could wake up open the door. My husband called Eddie and he said the cops was waiting on us and that’s who was knocking on my door! WHY??? WHY ARE THE COPS KNOCKING ON MY DOOR AT A CAMPGROUND?? Haven’t committed no crimes whatsoever!!Camping spots are so uneven (but they’re asphalting the camp spots to make them even.)I’d make sure this was ur absolute LAST PLACE TO STAY IF YOU HAD TO STAY SOMEWHERE. Now the campers that are her can stay til march cause they’re paid up, 9/10 campers here and what’s our little one gonna hurt being here. Nothing!! Oh also the bathroom mirror shattered all over my 5yo and 10yo when he was wiping off the mirror in the bathhouse, after taking a shower with his dad, the metal old clips wasn’t screwed in all the way! This could’ve easily killed my sons! DO BETTER REIDSVILLE LAKE!!!
Dec 10, 2024 · danyale freedleNice place to visit. Quiet and relaxing. Plenty of fish and the campground is very clean and gives you plenty of room between sites. This is a place if you need a get away and a peaceful nature setting don't miss out going here. Even if you aren't staying to camp. It could be a nice afternoon trip or a all day picnic kind-of trip just to have the relaxing sounds of nature to decompress.
Mar 09, 2024 · Kenneth “GrDSabu” PackGreat place for ur family ,fishing hiking, playground, even a small little store.
Mar 20, 2025 · Lloyd JanneyAwesome get away from work on my lunch break. Just to relax and refresh
Apr 20, 2025 · Ms SmithNice relaxing campground on the lake. Close to home for us, so it is a quick weekend trip. They recently upgraded the sewer and power. They need to do landscaping and clear out some dead trees in the campground. Would have 5 stars if better kept!
