The environment of Greensboro KOA Journey is described by guests as "simple and clean," prioritizing functionality and comfort for travelers. While one review notes its proximity to the highway and the associated noise from trucks at night, the overall impression is of a well-maintained and organized campground. The landscaping and general upkeep contribute to a pleasant atmosphere, ensuring a comfortable stay. The availability of hookups for campers is a primary feature, providing essential utilities for RVs to ensure a comfortable and self-sufficient stay. Guests have specifically mentioned the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms, which is a crucial aspect of any campground facility. The presence of a laundry room, although not used by one reviewer, indicates an additional convenience for travelers who may need to do laundry during their trip. The provision of a picnic table and fire pit at each site, as mentioned by a satisfied guest, enhances the camping experience, offering dedicated spaces for outdoor meals and enjoying campfires.
The staff at Greensboro KOA Journey consistently receive high praise for their friendliness and helpfulness. One reviewer recounted a positive initial phone call where a staff member provided information about site availability and even offered recommendations for local places to visit, such as the Greensboro Science Center, which the family thoroughly enjoyed. This proactive approach to customer service creates a welcoming first impression and demonstrates a commitment to ensuring guests have a positive experience beyond just the campground itself. The thoughtful touch of a "Happy Camper" sticker on the check-in envelope is also mentioned as a small detail that makes guests feel welcomed and valued. The easy after-hours check-in process further adds to the convenience for travelers arriving late.

The recommendation of the Greensboro Science Center by the staff is a testament to their knowledge of the local area and their willingness to help guests make the most of their visit.
The only significant negative feedback in the provided reviews is the proximity to the highway and the resulting noise from trucks at night. This is an important consideration for light sleepers or those particularly sensitive to noise. However, for many travelers, the convenience of the location and the other positive aspects of the campground may outweigh this drawback, especially for overnight stays or those focused on exploring the local area during the day.
As part of the KOA Journey brand, Greensboro KOA likely offers a range of standard KOA amenities and services. These often include clean restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi access (though the reliability may vary based on location within the park), a camp store for essentials, and potentially recreational areas. Given the mention of a dog park, pet owners can expect a designated space for their animals. While specific promotional information is not provided in the reviews, KOA often has various programs and discounts available, such as KOA Rewards, which offers members savings and benefits. Local users should inquire about these when booking.
To get the most up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and any current promotions, local users should contact Greensboro KOA Journey directly via phone. It is also advisable to check the official KOA website or other booking platforms for any special offers or seasonal rates. Given the positive feedback regarding the staff and cleanliness, it is likely a popular choice for travelers in the Greensboro area, so booking in advance, especially during peak travel times, is recommended.
In conclusion, Greensboro KOA Journey offers a convenient, clean, and welcoming 'camping near me' experience for local users and travelers passing through Greensboro, North Carolina. The friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, and amenities like a dog park, picnic tables, and fire pits contribute to a comfortable stay. Greensboro KOA Journey Reviews
Really enjoyed our stay. Even from the first phone call to find out about the different sites available, the gentleman was super friendly and even gave us some information where to find local places to visit. We are so glad he did, we ended up spending an afternoon at the Greensboro Science Center and the kids had an awesome time exploring! When we arrived after hours it was very easy to grab our packet that was waiting for us and continue on to our site. Our check in envelope had cute little stickers on it and one said Happy Camper, such a sweet welcome. Little things like that do not go unnoticed and make you feel welcomed. Our site was fine with a picnic table and fire pit and exactly what we needed after a long drive. The KOA was also very clean and had a cute dog park for our fur baby to run and play. We felt very safe and had three great nights of sleep. All in all, a great stay, safe, slept great, clean area, felt welcomed and you really can’t put a price on that!
Apr 07, 2025 · Denise “Niecie T”Simple and clean. KOA is a great place if you just need somewhere to hook up your camper and get some rest. The showers and bathrooms were clean. The laundry room was nice but we didn't use it. The staff was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay overall. There are lots of local attractions and activities in Greensboro that are closeby. Only negative was being so close to the highway, the trucks are loud at night.
Feb 28, 2025 · Jessica SpellmanI'm a KOA member and based on the snarky, unprofessional responses to reviews by the owner, I would never stay here. Owner- take some responsibility for your poor quality and management, and learn some customer service skills.
May 02, 2025 · Mary PWe had a reservation came in after hours and there was no check in info left on night registration. Bathrooms and laundry were locked and with no paperwork we could not use them. We advised the koa at the time we reserved that we had a camper van. Needless to say we could not use the bathroom. We called the manager’s number listed they didn’t return our call which would have solved the problem. Read reviews before reserving here. We did see a person with a yellow shirt who did finally give us the code but was not nice and said trainee did.
Nov 08, 2024 · Sunrise Side RVWe stayed here for an overnight stop in August 2024. The park is okay. It is overpriced for what it is, but it's acceptable for an overnight stay. One nice touch is they give out a goody bag of treats upon arrival, which was appreciated. When we arrived, the pool was not working, but we received no notification in advance that it was not functional. The park is borderline not big rig friendly, since there are several tight turns within the park on pavement, which is not good for your axles. They should be better rounded out for modern big rigs. There is a nice (small) dog park, and a playground. There appears to be a trail into the woods as well.
