DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect "camping near me" in the Asheboro, North Carolina area? Look no further than DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK, conveniently located at 814 McDowell Country Trail. This campground and RV park offers a welcoming atmosphere and a range of amenities, making it an excellent choice for both short-term and potentially long-term stays. With a dedicated phone number, (336) 629-4069 or mobile at +1 336-629-4069, reaching out for inquiries and reservations is easy.
Based on feedback from actual campers, DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK appears to prioritize a friendly and helpful environment. One reviewer specifically mentioned that "Everyone here is super friendly & the owner is so polite," and another noted being "greeted by staff to make sure if help was needed they could." This emphasis on customer service suggests that you can expect a welcoming and supportive experience during your stay.
The campground offers both RV sites and presumably tent camping areas, catering to a variety of camping preferences. One reviewer staying at spot #9 noted that the area had "all the rocks," which might be a consideration for families with young children who need open play spaces in that particular location. However, this same reviewer still described it as "such a nice campground," indicating that the overall positive aspects outweighed this specific concern.
For RV travelers, DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK boasts "pull through sites," a significant convenience that simplifies the setup and departure process for larger vehicles. However, one guest with a 27ft travel trailer on site 7 found it "a little to tight...to pull through when leaving," but also highlighted that "it really wasn’t any concern because there was plenty of room to back out." This suggests that while the pull-through feature is present, the tightness might vary between sites, and maneuvering space is available.
Several appealing amenities are available at DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK. The presence of a "washer and dryer" is explicitly mentioned as a "nice amenity," particularly beneficial for longer stays or those who prefer to travel light. Furthermore, "picnic tables and fireplaces at every site" enhance the camping experience, providing dedicated spaces for outdoor dining and enjoying campfires. The reviewer who rated the park 10/10 also mentioned that "The amenities were cool," indicating a range of well-maintained facilities that contribute positively to the overall stay.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities, DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK offers "trails" that were described as "a lot of fun." This suggests opportunities for hiking, walking, or exploring the natural surroundings of the campground. The specific nature and length of these trails aren't detailed, but their presence adds to the appeal for nature enthusiasts.
One unique characteristic of DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK is the presence of "a lot of workers on it," resulting in "diesel trucks leaving at 4am." While this might be a concern for light sleepers, one reviewer with a one-year-old noted that it "doesn’t bother her." The overall noise level seems to be manageable, with the campground being "pretty quiet all day until around 4pm" when workers start returning. Even then, it remains "still pretty quiet," suggesting that the early morning activity is the most noticeable noise factor.
DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK appears to cater to both short-term campers and those seeking longer-term accommodations. One reviewer mentioned a monthly rate of "$1,100," which they considered reasonable compared to a previous site with fewer amenities. This indicates that long-term stays are an option, and the price point is perceived as competitive given the available facilities and services. For local users considering an extended "camping near me" experience, this could be a viable option to explore.
To summarize the environment of DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK based on the reviews, it seems to be a well-maintained and friendly location. While some areas might have rocky terrain, the overall atmosphere is positive. The presence of workers and their early morning departures are a unique environmental factor to consider. The availability of picnic tables and fireplaces at each site encourages outdoor living and enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
In terms of services, you can likely expect friendly and helpful staff, pull-through RV sites (with potential tightness on some), access to laundry facilities (washer and dryer), and potentially other standard campground services such as water and electrical hookups for RVs (though not explicitly stated). The availability of trails suggests an effort to provide recreational opportunities for guests.

- Friendly and polite owners and staff.
- Pull-through RV sites.
- Washer and dryer facilities.
- Picnic tables at each site.

DEEP RIVER CAMPGROUND & RV PARK Reviews
We are staying at spot #9 and there isn’t much place for my daughter to play due to all the rocks. But it is such a nice campground. The only noise you hear is the diesel trucks leaving at 4am but I have a 1 year old and it doesn’t bother her. Everyone here is super friendly & the owner is so polite. I definitely recommend Deep River. The washer and dryer are also such a nice amenity.
Nov 13, 2024 · Taylor ThomasIt’s was a great site. We got there and were greeted by staff to make sure if help was needed they could. It’s pull through sites, we were on site 7 and it was a little to tight in our 27ft travel trailer to pull through when leaving but it really wasn’t any concern because there was plenty of room to back out. The sites in that area are close together but everyone was super friendly. There were picnic tables and fireplaces at every site. The amenities were cool and the trails were a lot of fun. It’s a site that has a lot of workers on it so all the diesel trucks leave early in the morning and it’s pretty quiet all day until around 4pm then everyone starts getting home. Even after everyone is home is still pretty quiet. It’s $1,100 monthly which seems expensive but we came from a site that had zero amenities and was a long term and they were charging $1600 per month so we didn’t think this price was all that bad for the amount of things to get to do on the site. 10/10 would defiantly recommend.

Apr 23, 2025 · Crystal LynnVThis campground turned out to be an incredibly positive surprise! We needed a place to stay so we could attend an event in the next town. When I called for a last-minute reservation, the owner, Scott was very accommodating. Not only did he fit us in, he gave us a fabulous site next to the pond! It’s very quiet and peaceful here, and we certainly enjoyed our stay!
