The environment of Lake View City Camp Crescent is consistently praised for its beauty and tranquility. One reviewer described the "nice park around a lake" as a "gem" within a "small, cozy town in Iowa." The serene lake serves as a central feature, providing a peaceful backdrop for various activities and contributing significantly to the campground's charm. The presence of "lots of space to run around and play" indicates that the environment is particularly conducive to families with children, offering ample room for outdoor fun and games.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the campground are also highlighted in the reviews. The same visitor noted that the "place is super clean and well-maintained," which is a crucial factor in ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. This attention to upkeep suggests that the management takes pride in providing a pleasant environment for their guests. The lake further enhances the appeal, offering opportunities for "peaceful picnics or just relaxing" by the water's edge.
One reviewer shared their experiences staying at Lake View City Camp Crescent on two separate occasions in 2021 – once during the busy Labor Day weekend and again in early October. Their experience during the Labor Day weekend indicated that the campground can indeed get "busy & packed" during peak seasons. They were fortunate to secure a spot, although it was "on the very end with not a lot of room." This suggests that while the campground is popular, site sizes might vary, and booking in advance during peak times is highly recommended to secure a preferred location.
Their subsequent stay in October offered a different experience, where they secured a spot "on a cement pad with plenty of space." This suggests that the campground offers different types of campsites, including those with cement pads, which are often favored by RVers for stability and ease of setup. The contrast between the two visits underscores the importance of considering the time of year and potential crowding when planning a stay.
Overall, the reviewer concluded that Lake View City Camp Crescent is a "very nice campground" and their "number one choice when visiting family in the area." This strong endorsement from a repeat visitor speaks volumes about the positive experience the campground offers.

Jul 29, 2024 · Ivan MedranoWe stayed here a couple of times back in 2021. Once over Labor Day weekend & then later at the beginning of October.Of course, when we stayed over Labor Day, it was busy & packed. We were lucky enough to get a spot, but it wasn't the best spot. It was on the very end with not a lot of room. Our next spot we got in October was on a cement pad with plenty of space.Overall, it's a very nice campground and it's our number one choice when visiting family in the area.
Aug 11, 2023 · Adventures with BCThis place is great. Grass sites are the best, near beach, playground, volleyball, and mini golf. City park very close and very big with splash pad, basketball, and large playground with hamster wheel! Nice beach with actual sand, not rocks!
Jul 17, 2021 · JennerJ21We met Nancy and everyone was so nice there… It is a beautiful place… The lake is wonderful and it is just a short walk to town along the beautiful Lake shore.
Aug 10, 2022 · Joseph KerskiThe beach, mini golf, and volleyball court was nice. Most of the spots are very small. Campers are very close together. Some of the information on the website is incorrect. Online we booked a pull through site. When we arrived they told us it was not a pull through. We barely fit in the spot. The bathrooms are old and hard to lock. My girls pinched their fingers multiple times trying to unlock the doors. The showers don't stay on, no place to put hygiene items, the floor is very gross, and the water was not very warm.
