Lake Williams Campground Association, Inc. Introduce
For local residents in Connecticut seeking a peaceful and welcoming "camping near me" experience, the Lake Williams Campground Association, Inc., located at 1742 Exeter Rd, Lebanon, CT 06249, USA, offers a promising destination. Based on the available customer reviews, this campground is characterized by its tranquility, friendly atmosphere, and reasonable rates, making it an attractive option for individuals and families looking to enjoy the outdoors without breaking the bank.
The environment at Lake Williams Campground is described as "nice quiet," suggesting a serene setting where campers can relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without excessive noise or disruption. This emphasis on tranquility is a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. While the reviews don't explicitly detail the landscape, the presence of "Lake Williams" in the name implies proximity to a lake, which could offer opportunities for scenic views, leisurely walks along the shore, and potentially water-based activities, although this is not confirmed in the provided information.
One of the notable features mentioned in the reviews is the friendly atmosphere of the campground. The description of "friendly camping" indicates that visitors can expect a welcoming environment and potentially a sense of community among fellow campers and staff. This can greatly enhance the overall camping experience, making it more enjoyable and comfortable, especially for those who appreciate a social and supportive atmosphere.
In terms of services, Lake Williams Campground offers "reasonable rates," making it an accessible option for budget-conscious campers. The availability of "partial hookups" is also mentioned, which typically includes electricity and water connections at the campsites. This is a significant convenience for RV owners and those who prefer some level of modern amenities while camping. Additionally, the presence of a "dump site" is noted, which is an essential facility for RVs to safely and hygienically dispose of waste.
One reviewer provided a detailed account of their experience as guests, offering insights into the facilities. Although they were the only tent campers during their visit, their positive feedback regarding the bathhouse and showers is noteworthy. They specifically highlighted the surprisingly effective shower system, where a modest fee of 25 cents provided "enough perfectly temperatured water" for a thorough wash, even for someone with long hair. This suggests that despite being a smaller or perhaps less amenity-heavy campground, the essential facilities are well-maintained and functional.
The same reviewer also praised the cleanliness of the bathhouse. They had anticipated needing to clean it themselves due to being the sole users but were pleasantly surprised to find that it had been "swept/mopped/refilled paper towel" by someone they affectionately referred to as a "wonderful elf." This speaks volumes about the level of care and maintenance provided at Lake Williams Campground, ensuring a clean and comfortable experience for all guests, even those in less frequently used facilities.
While specific promotional information such as discounts, special offers, or seasonal events is not included in the provided text, the positive aspects highlighted in the reviews serve as strong indirect promotion. The combination of reasonable rates, partial hookups, a dump site, a quiet and friendly atmosphere, and clean, functional facilities makes Lake Williams Campground an appealing choice for local campers seeking a straightforward and enjoyable experience. Nice quite, friendly camping. Reasonable rates with partial hookups and dump site
Sep 19, 2024 · Dan FritzellWe visited as guests of campsite owners who graciously got permission from their neighbors to allow us to tent camp nearby. As we were the only tent campers in the entire facility, we also were the only ones using the bath-house and showers. I have to glow-up the showering situation, for 25¢, much to my surprise, we got enough perfectly temperatured water to wash body and my long fussy curly girlie hair. We expected to have to clean the bath-house ourselves because we were the only ones using it, but were surprised in a happy way to find that some wonderful elf had come in and swept/mopped/refilled paper towel when we weren't noticing.
Aug 16, 2021 · Jenni LevenbookThe bathrooms were terrible. It's a country bumpkin place no doubt. Yet, if you're looking for some quiet time on a lake or quiet country roads the this will do. I'd not tent here but if you are self contained i.e. RV and don't mind using your own facilities then this is a good place. It's quiet and right on the lake, good place for small kids to catch Sunfish and enjoy the lake, great views of the country and if you cycle then Route 207 is a good route, decent shoulders and challenging hills. Again, if you use your own facilities this is a good place, if you need to use theirs don't come here.
Jun 16, 2015 · KOEKAGreat place to camp with access to a lake. Not open to casual camping unless you are friends or family of residents. This is a cooperative community and sites are available to own or to rent on a seasonal basis. There are only a few sites still available for sale
Apr 27, 2024 · Paul CoteDue to new management the camp has transformed over the past 6 years. Customer service has improved greatly, the park is always tended to (gravel being put down on roads, trees trimmed, electrical wires fixed), and there are now many fun-filled events on weekends. We highly welcome both newcomers and anyone in the past who may have had a sub par experience to join us for a weekend and discover the place you soon will be calling, your home away from home
