The environment at Odetah Camping Resort is designed to cater to different preferences. Its large size allows guests to choose between more private spots nestled in the hills or campsites closer to the activity facilities. The presence of a lake adds to the natural beauty of the resort, providing a scenic backdrop for relaxation and recreation.
Odetah Camping Resort boasts a comprehensive list of services and features aimed at enhancing the guest experience. For those traveling in RVs, the resort offers excellent RV sites with the necessary hookups. A standout feature mentioned by reviewers is the well-maintained hot tub, providing a relaxing way to unwind after a day of activities. Families with young children will appreciate the amazing pool and splash pad area, which, as one reviewer noted, can feel like having the place to yourselves, especially during the mid-week or off-season.
For those seeking more structured accommodation, the premier cabins at Odetah Camping Resort offer a fantastic option. These cabins are equipped with air conditioning, a private shower and toilet, and cooking capabilities, including an indoor stove top and an outside grill. The provision of immaculate silverware, pots, pans, and dishware, along with a practically brand-new outdoor grill, adds to the convenience and comfort of staying in these cabins. The availability of these well-equipped cabins makes Odetah an attractive option for families, as it provides a comfortable base for enjoying the outdoor activities.
The resort also offers a variety of recreational activities to keep guests of all ages entertained. A beautiful lake provides opportunities for boating, although specific details on rentals were not mentioned in the provided reviews. Mini golf and a playground are also available, offering additional fun for families. Notably, Odetah Camping Resort is known for hosting themed weekends, which can add a unique and engaging element to your camping experience. While one reviewer stayed during the off-season when some amenities were not yet open, they expressed excitement about returning when the full range of offerings would be available.
The staff at Odetah Camping Resort is frequently commended for their friendly and helpful service. Guests have reported that the front desk staff are super helpful with any questions, contributing to a positive and stress-free stay. The resort also provides practical services such as trash pick-up throughout the day, although one reviewer suggested that a single pick-up time might be more efficient in preventing potential issues with animals overnight.
While the majority of feedback is positive, some minor drawbacks have been noted. The resort has a significant number of rules, which contribute to the cleanliness and quiet atmosphere but might be something to consider for those seeking a more laid-back environment. The main bathhouses can be a bit of a walk for those staying in more remote sites, and one reviewer suggested the addition of smaller bathrooms without showers for better coverage. It's also worth noting that golf carts are generally not permitted unless there is a disability, which means that getting around the large resort may involve a fair amount of walking or driving your own vehicle to access facilities like the pool. Parking at the pool area can be limited, with closer spots restricted to 15 minutes.
Despite these minor points, Odetah Camping Resort receives high praise for its overall quality and the amenities it offers that many other campgrounds do not. The presence of a nice store adds to the convenience, and the clean facilities and great layout contribute to a pleasant stay. The combination of diverse accommodation options, numerous activities, and a generally well-maintained environment makes Odetah a strong contender for local users searching for a top-tier "camping near me" experience.
In conclusion, Odetah Camping Resort in Bozrah, CT, offers a comprehensive and enjoyable camping experience for local users. Whether you prefer the traditional RV camping experience or the comfort of a premier cabin, you'll find well-maintained facilities and a range of amenities to suit your needs. The pool, splash pad, lake, mini golf, and themed weekends provide ample entertainment, especially for families. While the size of the resort may require some walking, and there are specific rules in place, the overall cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and friendly staff contribute to a highly rated camping destination. Odetah Camping Resort Reviews
Excellent RV resort in CT with hot tub and well maintained facilities. Lots of rules but the place was largely clean, quiet and comfortable. The place is big, so you can find a more private spot or closer to the activity facilities. We opted for a quiet site in the hills. The only drawback is this bath has only 2 main bathhouses which can be a bit of a walk. I think they should add a couple of small bathrooms without showers to provide better coverage. There is no golf carts unless there is a disability. Nice that there is less golf cart traffic, but there is a fair amount of walking required if your site is not near the facilities. We drove our car to the pool (parking was limited and closer restricted to 15 minutes only). They pick up trash throughout the day (it may be better if they pick just 1 time to limit trash being missed and eaten by animals over night). A few things could make this place even better, but it is still 5 stars for a lot of good reasons: nice store, clean facilities, great layout, lots of amenities other campgrounds do not offer. See you all there in the future.
Jul 17, 2024 · Scott DowlerMy wife and I stayed here with our 1 and a half year old recently for what was supposed to be a two night stay but we were having a good time and enjoying ourselves, so we decided to stay for one more night. We booked one of the premier cabins which includes AC, shower/toilet and cooking capabilities with indoor stove top and outside grill. This was mainly because of our little guy and we wanted him to enjoy himself which in turn would allow us to relax and have a good time as well. The cabin was super clean inside and out. silverware, pots and pans and dishware provided were all immaculate. Grill outside was practically brand new. Pool and splash pad were amazing (basically had the place to ourselves, we stayed mid week so the place wasn't too crowded). The lake was beautiful. The staff at the front desk were friendly and super helpful with any questions we had. We stayed off season so some of the offered amenities were not open yet, but we look forward to staying again when they are available. There are a lot of things to do for kids (boats, mini golf, playground and themed weekends). Overall we thought the place was great and can't wait to be back!
Jun 12, 2024 · Kyle GriffithsPlace is beautiful and well kept. Not many sites with sewer and the dump station location was not well thought out You will wait hours at the end of a weekend if you want to pump out. They need more and not all located at the entrance/exit. Electricity was sketchy but I think that may have been isolated to my site. Maintenance response was “nothing I can do” so we could not use our A/C or water heater for the weekend. One of the nicest campground pool areas I’ve ever seen.
Sep 02, 2024 · B WFirst.....This is a superb place for families! The pool and hot tub are spectacular along with the beautiful lake for kids. We chose a site way too far in the woods thinking it was the only one a big rig would fit but we should have taken one to back into because it made the distance too far for older folks (us) to walk to anything. Many/most of the best sites are lower in the campground and taken by seasonal campers. Con: no sewer hook ups in the upper woods or very few other spots. READ the rules first, they are not guest friendly which didn't bother us at all!
Jun 17, 2024 · darlene riceIt had been a few years since we had camped at Odetah. We were looking forward to seeing any improvements that were made. The campground has various amenities. Lake with rentals. Lakeside restaurant that will also deliver to your site. Mini golf. Ice cream stand. And a new pool with a splash pad for children. A well stocked camp store and plenty of friendly and helpful employees. Unfortunately our site (F) was terribly unlevel and the sewer connection was on a hill making it difficult to drain the tanks. Also the sites of the section that I was in all needed to have the grass cut. The worst issue was the cost of the site was over $100 a night for a weeknight. I expect more for that price.
