Lakeshore RV Park

100 Walnut St, Geneva, NE 68361, USA

4.0
Nice place to get off the road. It is quiet... didn't hear any cars until 0830ish. No lights to keep you awake. Just you and the frogs and crickets. Campsites have spaces in a well maintained mobile home park. Used the GPS to find it and true to form it brought us in on the least desirable route. DON'T TAKE FOURTH STREET it's a trap for the tired and lazy :-). Instead go to first street and make the turn. First street is paved... fourth is not. In addition to the pavement issue the bend between fourth and Wilson is soggy on a dry day. You big rigs are taking chances. It is extremely dark here at night. Mature trees at the back of the sites do don't go back too far. It's actually an attractive little place. It's on my list of places to use in the future. Would consider a long term rental as well. - rangerlee

Lakeshore RV Park Introduce

For local residents and travelers seeking RV camping options in and around Geneva, Nebraska, Lakeshore RV Park, located at 100 Walnut St, presents a potential choice within the "camping near me" category. Situated in the small town of Geneva in Fillmore County, southeastern Nebraska, this RV park offers a location that some reviewers have found to be a quiet respite from the road. However, it's important for prospective visitors to consider the varying perspectives presented in customer feedback to make an informed decision about their stay.

The environment of Lakeshore RV Park, as described by one reviewer, offers a sense of tranquility. The mention of quiet surroundings with minimal traffic noise until the morning suggests a peaceful setting, potentially appealing to those looking for a restful stop. The absence of bright lights at night could also be a draw for those who prefer darker skies for sleeping or stargazing, with the sounds of frogs and crickets providing a natural soundtrack. The reviewer notes that the campsites are located within a well-maintained mobile home park, indicating a somewhat established and potentially landscaped environment with mature trees at the back of some sites. However, it's also mentioned that these mature trees could pose a challenge for larger RVs backing in too far.

Conversely, another reviewer with local ties to Geneva paints a different picture of the environment and upkeep. They state that the park was originally for trailer houses and that the current owners do "very little to improve the property," describing the sites as uneven rock areas with only weeds instead of grass. This discrepancy in descriptions highlights the importance of considering both positive and negative feedback when evaluating a potential camping location.

In terms of services and amenities, the feedback is quite contrasting. One reviewer found it to be a "nice place to get off the road," implying that it met their basic needs for an overnight stop. The mention of a well-maintained mobile home park might suggest the presence of basic utilities at the RV sites, such as water and electrical hookups, although this is not explicitly stated. However, the second reviewer is quite critical, stating that there are "No Ammenities," which is a significant concern for those expecting facilities like restrooms, showers, laundry, or recreational areas typically found in dedicated RV parks. This lack of clarity regarding available amenities is a crucial point for potential visitors to investigate further.

Features of Lakeshore RV Park, based on the reviews, seem to be more about the natural and locational aspects. The quiet atmosphere and dark nights are features appreciated by one reviewer. The presence of mature trees, while potentially challenging for parking, could offer shade and a more established feel to some sites. The location within Geneva provides access to the small-town atmosphere, which some might find charming. However, the uneven rock sites and the presence of weeds instead of grass, as mentioned by another reviewer, could be considered negative features affecting the overall comfort and aesthetic appeal of the park.

One very practical feature mentioned is the navigation to the park. The first reviewer advises against following GPS directions that lead to Fourth Street, describing it as an unpaved "trap" that is also soggy in a bend near Wilson Street, posing a risk for big rigs. Instead, they recommend using First Street for access, which is paved. This local knowledge is valuable for anyone planning to visit Lakeshore RV Park.

Regarding promotional information, there are no specific offers mentioned in the provided reviews. However, one reviewer stated they would consider a long-term rental at Lakeshore RV Park, suggesting that such options might be available. The second reviewer mentioned a weekly rate of $157, which they deemed "ridiculous" given their negative experience. This provides a data point about potential pricing, but it's important to note that rates can vary based on the season, site type, and length of stay. Potential long-term renters would need to inquire directly about availability and pricing.

The stark contrast in the two reviews provided highlights the importance of seeking additional information and potentially recent feedback from other sources before making a decision to stay at Lakeshore RV Park. While one reviewer found it to be a quiet and attractive stop suitable for future use and even long-term rental consideration, the other, with local knowledge, expressed significant dissatisfaction with the lack of amenities, management, and site conditions, strongly recommending to avoid the park.

For local users searching for "camping near me" in Geneva, Nebraska, Lakeshore RV Park presents a mixed picture based on the available reviews. The potential for a quiet overnight stop might appeal to some, while the reported lack of amenities and issues with site conditions and management could be deterrents for others. The advice regarding the best route to access the park (using First Street instead of Fourth Street) is a valuable piece of local knowledge for those who do choose to visit.

In conclusion, Lakeshore RV Park in Geneva, Nebraska, offers a location that some find quiet and potentially suitable for a stopover or even a long-term rental. However, concerns have been raised regarding the lack of amenities, uneven site conditions, and customer service. Local users and travelers should weigh these contrasting perspectives and seek further information to determine if Lakeshore RV Park meets their specific needs and expectations for a "camping near me" experience. Direct contact with the park management is recommended to clarify the availability of amenities, current rates, and site conditions before making a reservation.
