Recharge Lake Introduce
For local users in the York, Nebraska area, searching for "camping near me," Recharge Lake, located at 1114 Recharge Rd, York, NE 68467, USA, presents a highly affordable and well-regarded option for a camping getaway. Based on feedback from actual campers, Recharge Lake stands out for its cleanliness and low cost, priced at just $15 per night. This makes it an exceptionally budget-friendly choice for those looking to enjoy the outdoors without breaking the bank.
The environment of Recharge Lake is centered around a "nice lake," suggesting opportunities for lakeside relaxation and possibly water-related activities, although the specifics of these activities (like swimming or fishing) are not detailed in the provided reviews. The presence of a lake typically enhances the scenic beauty of a campground and provides a focal point for recreation. Additionally, the campground features a "playground," making it potentially appealing for families with children who would appreciate having a dedicated space for play.
In terms of services, Recharge Lake offers practical and appreciated amenities. Campers have access to "flush toilets" and a "dump station," which are significant conveniences, especially for those with RVs or those who prefer more comfort than primitive camping offers. Furthermore, "electric at trailer sites" is available, catering to the needs of RV campers who require power for their appliances and comfort systems. These amenities contribute to a more comfortable and convenient camping experience at a very reasonable price.
The features of Recharge Lake, as gleaned from the reviews, include the nice lake itself, the playground for children, the availability of flush toilets, a dump station for waste disposal, and electric hookups at the trailer sites. These features collectively make Recharge Lake a well-equipped campground, especially considering its affordability. The combination of natural elements (the lake) and practical amenities makes it a versatile option for different types of campers.
However, the reviews also mention a notable environmental factor to be aware of: "frequent train horn blasts about a half mile away." One reviewer considered this the "only negative," while another, presumably more accustomed to such sounds from the Midwest, noted that "if you are from the Midwest you're used to that" and still indicated they "would definitely return." This suggests that while the train noise might be noticeable, it may not be a deterrent for all campers, particularly those from the region. If you are sensitive to noise, this is something to consider when planning your stay.
The overall sentiment from the reviewers is positive, especially given the value for money. The campground is described as "very clean" and "quiet" (despite the train), further adding to its appeal. The willingness of a reviewer to "definitely return" speaks volumes about the positive experience despite the occasional train horns.
Since no specific promotional information is provided, we cannot detail any discounts or special offers that Recharge Lake might have. However, the consistently mentioned price of $15 per night is itself a significant draw, highlighting its affordability compared to many other campgrounds. For local users seeking an inexpensive "camping near me" option without sacrificing essential amenities, Recharge Lake appears to be an excellent choice.
In summary, Recharge Lake near York, Nebraska, offers a clean and very affordable camping experience at $15 per night. Its features include a nice lake, a playground, flush toilets, a dump station, and electric hookups at trailer sites. While the sound of train horns from a nearby train line is a factor to be aware of, many campers find the overall value and amenities compelling enough for a return visit. For local users looking for an inexpensive and well-equipped "camping near me," Recharge Lake is definitely worth considering.
To get the most up-to-date information on availability, any specific rules or regulations, and to confirm the amenities, it would be advisable to contact Recharge Lake directly, although a phone number is not provided in the information. Recharge Lake Reviews
Very clean and inexpensive, $15 a night. Flush toilets and dump station, nice lake and playground. Electric at trailer sites. Only negative for us was frequent train horn blasts about a half mile away.
Jun 29, 2024 · Kim Gossett$15 for electric in a quiet Campground. Train is a ways over, but if you are from the Midwest you're used to that. Would definitely return.
Sep 15, 2024 · jennifer elmoreBeautiful lake to stay at, fishing isn't the best, out of area people staying here were so friendly but the locals were completely rude. Locals acted like they owned the place and would block in your camping pad when their friends would stop to see them. This place does not take reservations for camp sites but when I pulled in a spot I sure caught grief because they had a friend coming out that didn't show up until much much later.
Jul 23, 2023 · Cody MeredithI was looking for a stopover point traveling from Minnesota to Colorado on 5/5/2021, and did a search on camping in the York area and was intrigued by this campground. I arrived at sundown not knowing exactly what I would find, and was delighted. This campground is very pleasant and extremely well-maintained. It is not very large at 19 sites, and is first-come/first-served only, which worked out fine for me at this time of the year. It has many facilities, including the small lake, a swimming area, a fishing pier, a boat launch, picnic tables and shelters, trails, and both RV and tent camping at very reasonable prices. There is a modern restroom (no showers) and a pit toilet, both very clean. I enclosed a photo interior of the pit toilet building, which is in the tent area. I was looking specificlly for tent camping. The tent camping area is an open grassy area surrounded by pines, with a water spigot and individual fire rings. I spent a windy night in my tent admiring the clear view of the stars above. I didn't put my rain fly on because no rain was forecast. But it had rained earlier in the day and things were still pretty wet from that, I ended up setting my tent in the bed of my truck in the tent area parking lot. I was the only tent camper there, so this worked out fine. There were lot of birds around and they were singing cheerfully in the morning. This location has an interesting history and I commend those who decided to utilize this space for a recreation area. The only significant downside to this facility is its proximity to a railroad track and a busy road, both visible from the tent campground. They were maybe a mile or so away. These are both quite busy and generate a lot of noise, especially the trains. This is most evident at night -- I highly recommend ear plugs, especially if you're in a tent or RV with thin walls. I slept OK wearing mine. Because of that, I am giving the campground 4 rather than 5 stars. It's a location situation, the campground itself is great!
May 07, 2021 · Dan KaufeldI have no clue what everyone is seeing…this place is terrible in every way. Have used everything imaginable for fishing and I think anything that was in here is now definitely dead. Trash everywhere. Trails are arranged awful. Think the deepest part of the lake is about 3 feet. Absolutely terrible spot do not ever think of coming here and save your time.
