The environment of York KAMPground is primarily described as functional rather than scenic. One reviewer notes, "This is definitely not a pretty place to stay but, it's very functional. It is a parking lot with utilities." This suggests a layout that prioritizes ease of access and utility connections over natural aesthetics. The campground is conveniently located near both I-80 and Highway 2, and another reviewer mentions its easy access right off of I-80 and Highway 81. While the proximity to major roadways offers significant convenience, one traveler initially had concerns about road noise from I-80 but found it to be "nearly unnoticeable," indicating that measures may be in place to mitigate noise levels. The entrance to the campground is mentioned as being "a bit bumpy" with some potential for puddles, advising visitors to slow down upon entry. The sites themselves are pull-through, which is a significant advantage for RVers, allowing for easier arrival and departure without the need to back up. Utility connections (electric, sewer, water) are reported to be at every site and easily accessed, with "very good connectivity."
In terms of services, York KAMPground focuses on providing essential amenities for a comfortable and convenient RV stay. Key services and features highlighted in the reviews include:

- Pull-Through Sites: All sites are pull-through, making them exceptionally convenient for RVs of all sizes, especially for overnight stops.
- Easy Highway Access: Its location near I-80 and Highway 2 (and also mentioned as Highway 81) makes it very accessible for travelers.

- Friendly and Helpful Camp Host: One reviewer specifically mentions a "friendly and helpful" camp host, indicating good customer service.
- Good Utility Connectivity: The electric, sewer, and water connections are reported to be easily accessible and reliable.

It's very conveniently located near I80 and not far from 2. The entrance is a bit bumpy and had some puddles, didn't bother us, just slow down.We were concerned about road noise from 80 but, it's nearly unnoticeable. The signs state that check in is required but, the office is unstaffed. The electric, sewer, water connections are at every site and easily accessed. Connectivity is very good.Restrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained. The laundry room is a wonderful feature here.We were just passing through on our continual migration. This is definitely not a pretty place to stay but, it's very functional. It is a parking lot with utilities.
Sep 29, 2024 · Jeff BaileyThis campground is an excellent stopover spot. It is easy to get to, right off of I-80 and Highway 81 in York, NE. The sites are pull-through and you can get FHU or just water/electric. There is a dump station onsite. The campground is clean and the camp host is so friendly and helpful. We have stayed here twice in our way from Joplin, MO to Sidney, NE and have had excellent experiences both times. I highly recommended this campground.
Apr 30, 2025 · Tammy LeemanIt's ok.Pros: Nice staff, right off the highway.Cons: big chunky gravel which was hard to walk on in regular shoes. The Bathhouse was closed for floor resurfacing. We would have appreciated a text or email giving us a heads up instead of walking over to find the code didn't work. That was the most disappointing thing, really. 3 days on the road and we were really looking forward to a shower with elbow room. The sites were level side to side, but there was a hump in the middle which makes leveling a bit more difficult in a motorhome. We managed. Will we be back? Most likely not.
Apr 25, 2025 · Karen ZThe property manager here is the rudest person I have ever met. We arranged to stay at this KAMPground long term. We live down in Oklahoma (we just RECENTLY bought land there). We hadn’t had a chance to change our ID and phone numbers yet because we had to come back to Nebraska for custody court and have to stay until August for it. I was upfront about the fact that we had dogs. My dog was well socialized but she is a German shepherd. So she is very mouthy, but she’s kind. We had 1 dog and 4 of her puppies that we were in the process of finding homes for. They were 8 weeks old. A ton of people there had 3+ dogs when we were there.Aside from that, they told us we could stay long term. Then just out of nowhere she started saying things such as “we only allow contractors to stay here” “well you are from here” … we are NOT from York. My phone number is 2 years old. We were born and raised in Nebraska and all of our family is here in Nebraska. 2+ hours away to be exact, but we do NOT live here. The price is ridiculously high for the very limited amenities they provide and the change machine never works. Save yourself the headache and the money and go a mile down the road to Elks. He’s a kind man and the price is more than fair. These are the conversations between the two of us.
Apr 09, 2025 · Stephanie BrownI stayed for a week. The weekly price was very reasonable. This is a well maintained RV park close to the freeway. The is a Walmart less than a 1/4 mile away and every possible restaurant you could want within walking sistance or a very short drive; i.e. KFC/Taco Bell, Taco John, Wendy's, Arby's, Starbucks, Runza, and you can even get Cinnabon at the gas station at the end of the drive. The campground is gravel and grass. Well maintained. Has a laundry (3 machines of each) and a showers (6) & restroom. Although it's right by the freeway it was very quiet. The spaces are good for rigs up to 70' and are very level, I only had to adjust maybe an inch. There are a number of longterm residents but they're sites are very neat. The only drawback for some might be that there's not a lot of space between sites, maybe 4 to 6 feet. But unless they're full for longer stays they try to leave a space between you and the next RV.
