Blue Valley Camping Area

730 S 6th St, Seward, NE 68434, USA

I wanted to like this place based on other reviews, but I had a bad experience. I arrived around 10:00pm while traveling to Fort Collins, CO, payed the fee ($10 for tent camping) at the drop box and returned to my car to set up my tent. While I was pulling my camping backpack out, a female police officer drove up to my car, asking what I was doing here. After pointing out the sign and confirming this spot was for tent camping, she asked me for ID and accused me of being a murder... She never identified herself as a law enforcement officer. The campground itself is nice, clean, and has plenty of flat areas for tents. The bathroom was very clean. Due to my poor experience with what I assume to be a city police officer, I will never return to this city-run campsite or to this city ever again. - David Barton

The availability of flat areas is particularly beneficial for tent campers, ensuring a comfortable and stable pitching surface. While the reviews do not extensively detail the natural surroundings, the mention of cleanliness suggests a focus on maintaining a tidy and presentable campground. One reviewer noted it as "not a bad place to stay and relax," implying a reasonably peaceful environment suitable for unwinding. Notably, the campground provides "fresh water" and an "RV dump station," which are valuable services for RV travelers. This limited number of electrical hookups suggests that RV sites with power are available but might be limited in quantity, so early booking could be advisable for those requiring electricity. While other services such as showers, laundry facilities, or specific recreational amenities are not mentioned in the provided reviews, the availability of fresh water, an RV dump station, and electrical hookups (on some sites) caters to the basic needs of campers. However, it's important to note that specific rules regarding pets (e.g., leash requirements, designated areas) are not detailed in the reviews.

One reviewer specifically mentioned a negative encounter with someone assumed to be a city police officer upon arrival late at night. While this experience is subjective and might not be representative of the typical guest interaction, it is a piece of feedback from a real customer and should be noted. The reviewer praised the campground's cleanliness and flat tent areas but stated they would not return due to this interaction. Conversely, another reviewer found it to be "not a bad place to stay and relax" and recommended it as "Family safe" for a two to three-day base camp for exploring Lincoln.
