The environment at Conestoga Lake Campground is described as "quiet" and "scenic," suggesting a peaceful natural setting that allows campers to relax and unwind. The campground's proximity to Conestoga Lake is a significant environmental feature, likely offering opportunities for lake-related activities, although the reviews do not explicitly detail these. The presence of "plenty of trail to walk" indicates that the area is conducive to hiking and enjoying the natural surroundings on foot. One reviewer mentioned that during a late October visit, the area was "pretty much to ourselves due to the cold snap and the time of year," suggesting that the campground offers a more secluded experience during the off-season. The campsites themselves are noted to be gravel-based but level, which is a positive feature for both tent and RV campers, providing a stable and even surface.
In terms of services and features, Conestoga Lake Campground offers a range of amenities to accommodate different camping preferences. While full hookups (water, sewer, and electricity at the site) are not available, there are sites with electric hookups, catering to RVs and those who require power. Water spigots are located around the campground, providing access to water, although individual dedicated water hookups at each site are not offered. A dump station is available for RV users to dispose of wastewater, although one reviewer noted that the water at the dump site was turned off during a late October visit, likely due to seasonal considerations. The availability of vault toilets is mentioned, and a reviewer expressed a wish for better toilet facilities, indicating that these are the primary restroom option. The gravel campsites are a notable feature, appreciated for being level and, in some cases, long enough to accommodate larger RVs with towed vehicles. The presence of hiking trails is another significant feature, providing recreational opportunities for campers.
The features of Conestoga Lake Campground seem to cater to both tent and RV campers looking for a more relaxed and nature-oriented experience. The level gravel campsites are a practical feature, ensuring stability for various camping setups. The availability of electric hookups is a plus for RVers, enhancing comfort and convenience. While the absence of full hookups might be a consideration for some RV travelers, the presence of a dump station is a valuable amenity. The provision of water spigots throughout the campground ensures access to water, albeit not directly at each site. The hiking trails offer a way to explore the scenic surroundings and engage in physical activity. The quiet and scenic environment, particularly noted during the off-season, suggests a peaceful retreat away from more crowded campgrounds. The campground's proximity to Denton also offers the convenience of being relatively close to a town for supplies or in case of forgotten items.

Conestoga Lake Campground Reviews
This is a fun and chill place to camp. We like it for an easy getaway location that's still close enough to run back home for things we forget. It's like a good warmup/first camp for the season.I do wish that they had better toilets - only vault toilets are available. Also, no full hookups. There are sites with electric, and there are spigots around, but no sites with dedicated water spigots and sewage dump.
Apr 27, 2025 · Warren KittlerWhat a nice campground! Sites are gravel, but, level and some are long enough for our RV and "toad". Had power, no septic or water at our site but, dump was available. We were camping late in October so the water at the dump site was off. Bu no worries for us.Quiet, scenic area, that we had pretty much to ourselves due to the cold snap and the time of year.Plenty of trail to walk. We'd love to come back!
Oct 31, 2023 · Gina LandonTook my new camper there for its maiden voyage and had a great time with family. Quiet and great weather the whole time. Did some fishing with kids and enjoyed the lake.
Sep 07, 2024 · Mark SneedCan't use live fish bait - everybody was anyway. Some were catching bluegill, only to cut them up for bait.People were setting fireworks.Dogs not on chains or leashes. It seemed like a free for all for some people.Little to no NG&P presence. Was there Thursday through Sunday and one NG&P pickup drive by.Mosquito's were a huge problem. I used a fogger often and applied bug spray more often.Nice area for fishingCamper pad was not level, tough to level camper. It was an ok stay, I probably not come back. The lack of NG&P presence and all the other BS was disappointing for $25 per night.
