Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Lincoln, Nebraska area? Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals offers a straightforward and convenient camping option for those passing through or seeking a quiet, no-frills outdoor stay. Located at W Superior St, Lincoln, NE 68528, USA, this campground provides essential amenities for RV travelers, particularly those prioritizing electric hookups and paved sites. While it may not boast all the bells and whistles of more comprehensive campgrounds, Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals offers a functional and relatively peaceful environment for an overnight stop or a short stay.
The environment at Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals is characterized by its open grassy areas and proximity to Pawnee Lake (though direct lake access and activities aren't explicitly mentioned in the provided information). The reviews suggest a generally quiet atmosphere, making it a potentially appealing option for those seeking a respite from more bustling campgrounds. While the presence of horse corrals is part of the name, customer feedback indicates that these pens may not be in frequent use and can appear overgrown. This suggests that while the name hints at equestrian facilities, the primary offering, based on recent reviews, caters more towards general camping, especially for RVs.
In terms of services and amenities, Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals focuses on the essentials. A significant advantage for RVers is the provision of paved RV pads. This ensures a level and stable surface for parking and setting up camp. Furthermore, each site is equipped with electric hookups, a crucial feature for many modern campers relying on electricity for appliances and comfort. It's important to note that water connections are not available directly at each individual site. However, there is a water source located in the middle of the campground loop. Campers wishing to fill their RV tanks will need to utilize jugs or a very long hose to access this central water supply. This is a key consideration for those planning an extended stay or requiring a significant amount of water.
The facilities at Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals include washrooms, which are identified as pit toilets. It is explicitly mentioned that showers are not available on-site. This is a significant factor for campers who prioritize hygiene facilities and may need to plan accordingly by utilizing onboard RV showers or seeking alternative options elsewhere. For families with children, the campground offers plenty of grassy areas for kids to play. However, it's worth noting that there is no dedicated playground equipment. Therefore, while there is space for outdoor activities, campers may need to bring their own recreational equipment for children.
One of the recurring themes in the customer reviews is the pricing of Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals. As of July 2024, the nightly rate was reported as $30. However, another review mentioned a price of $42. This discrepancy suggests potential fluctuations in pricing or different rates based on the time of year or other factors. The general sentiment in the reviews is that, compared to other campgrounds, the $42 price point might be considered high given the limited amenities, particularly the lack of individual water hookups and showers. However, the campground's proximity to Interstate 80 (I-80) is highlighted as a significant advantage for travelers who are just passing through and need a convenient overnight stop with electric hookups.
For local users searching for "camping near me" who prioritize a quiet location with paved RV sites and electric hookups, Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals presents a viable option, especially for short stays or overnight stops. The absence of water hookups at each site and the lack of showers are important considerations for longer stays or those seeking more comprehensive amenities. The availability of ample grassy space for children to play is a potential benefit for families, although the lack of a playground might be a drawback for some. The pricing, as noted in the reviews, should be carefully considered in relation to the amenities offered and compared to other "camping near me" options in the Lincoln area.
While Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals may not be a destination campground for extended vacations, its strategic location near I-80 makes it a convenient choice for travelers needing a break. The quiet environment, coupled with the paved RV pads and electric hookups, provides a degree of comfort and practicality for those on the road. Local residents seeking a simple overnight camping experience without extensive amenities might also find it suitable. However, it's crucial to be aware of the limitations regarding water and shower facilities.
In summary, Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals offers a no-frills camping experience with a focus on providing paved RV sites and electric hookups. Its quiet environment and proximity to I-80 are key advantages. However, the lack of individual water connections, the presence of pit toilets without showers, and the absence of a playground are factors that potential campers should consider. The pricing, as indicated by customer reviews, may be a point of consideration when comparing it to other "camping near me" options in the region. For local users seeking a basic and quiet RV camping spot with essential electric services, Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals could be a suitable choice, particularly for short stays or as a convenient stopover.

Pawnee Lake Horse Corrals Reviews
Nice campground. Just passing through on way home. $30/night as of July 2024. Electric hookups.
Jul 14, 2024 · Derek BranstromWe’ve stayed here a few times. The RV pads are all paved. You should expect to back into the site. All sites have electric at the site. The sites do not have water connections , though there is water available in the middle of the loop. To use it, you will either need jugs or a long, long length of hose to fill your tanks. The washrooms are pit toilets, no showers. There is plenty of grass for kids to play, but no playground. This campground is generally pretty quiet. I don’t think the horse pens get much use, as they’ve been overgrown with grass and weeds anytime I’ve seen them.Compared to most other campgrounds, it’s not worth the price ($42), but it’s relatively close to I-80.
Sep 28, 2024 · Rik (Rik)Some of the campgrounds are not even plots of land even though you pay the same amount of money. My friends and I were on a small triangle pot while others could fit whole campers.
