Apr 27, 2025 · Eva CastilloMy husband and I needed a getaway and thought it would be cool to sleep in a tipi. We stayed in the Morning Star which has a king size bed, full size futon, AC unit, and a 2 fans. We were the only people there until later that night, but it was pretty much us the whole 2 nights. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, having a drink, playing with the games that was under the pavilion. The bathhouse was nice and clean. It has 3 full bath and 1 half bat.. I wouldn't have survived with it. Johnny the owner was very nice. We chatted for a while with him our first night there. I would highly recommend this place for a large family or group. We thought it would have been more fun with more people.
Sep 19, 2022 · Foon HFamily vacation for spring break 2023 was almost a busy until The Arrowhead Tipi Resort came up in my search. STUNNING hand painted tipi's with A/C and heating, comfortable beds and very welcoming appearance inside. A beautiful, in site, private stocked pond for fishing, 3 showers that turn your trip from camping to glamping. There is a shared center for all 5 tipi's that offer picnicking, grilling, family fun games, a fire pit and even complimentary smore kits! Absolutely the best quick get-a-way in a long time. Icing on the cake, you're only a few minutes from Lake Tawakoni State Park entrance. See some pictures of this amazing place.
Apr 30, 2023 · Tori GarciaReserved a Tipi for me and my sweetheart for the weekend to get away from our busy lives in dallas. Tipis were nice. Bathrooms are great. Made it in at 7pm on Friday. We're the only ones there that night and it was great. Went for shopping and for lunch Saturday and came back to relax with nature. Saturday evening the host had a birthday party for his young son with friends and family. Around 8 adults and 10 younger children. The quiet solitude then changed into a children's party atmosphere as they took over the camp site with children running around everywhere until late. That being said we were told there would be a small party with a handful of children when we arrived, but didn't think much of it. Was a disappointment. I would not recommend this place if you want to get out in nature and be alone. This is more of a community site like an RV park.
Apr 10, 2022 · russell dayMy family spent three nights here over July 4th weekend. The accommodations and service exceeded expectations in so many ways. We were greeted by the owner, Mr. Johnny, who could not have been more welcoming and friendly or caring about his guests’ experience. In speaking with him, I could tell a lot of thought, love and care went into building this great property for guest and developing policies that are friendly for both his business and his guests. Check in was easy, and everything was ready upon arrival. Our tipi was super clean and had been cooling off. The average temp this week was about 102, and we were comfortable sleeping thanks to the cooling unit and three fans. We even got a little cold some nights! The bed in our tipi was comfortable and included a variety of blankets, etc. for various weather conditions. There was also a convenient power strip to plug in an additional fan and charge devices. A basket of towels and bug repellent spray was provided. Although these tipis are all set up in a wooded area, bugs, etc., are minimal, but the repellent is always a good idea when you are playing in the outdoors. A lock is also provided so you can lock your belongings in the tipi when you are off site. Outside of the tipi, this crew has thoughtfully included just about everything you need facility wise. The common areas included a huge fire pit with ample seating for a number of guests, a covered outdoor kitchen area with several grills, picnic tables and outdoor games. Just bring your food, drinks, cooking utensils and any dishes your need. If you are a coffee fanatic, bring something to make it in. While there, we found guests using common areas did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves, leaving the facilities nice for others. Across from the outdoor cooking/picnic area, there’s a nice little backdrop for all your teens and tweens insta and Snapchat needs. 😂The bathhouse was wonderful as well. There are several full private restrooms which include a shower, vanity and toilet. These were all temperature controlled and clean during our stay. By far better than the bathroom facilities you find within most parks or short term rentals with common facilities. The property is beautiful both day and night, and the venue overall is unique and welcoming. The hosts are super responsive and accessible and do a fantastic job ensuring a great experience. This is a great place to stay for an outdoor experience, just outside the gates of Lake Tawakoni State Park.
