Lazy River Camping Area Introduce
For local users seeking a relaxed and enjoyable camping experience under the "camping near me" category, Lazy River Camping Area, located at 427 Goboro Rd, Epsom, NH 03234, USA, presents an appealing option. Reachable by phone at (603) 798-5900 or +1 603-798-5900, this campground has garnered positive feedback for its friendly staff, nice amenities, and a generally peaceful atmosphere, making it a potential favorite for those looking to unwind in nature.
The environment at Lazy River Camping Area is clearly defined by its proximity to a river, as suggested by its name and a customer review mentioning a tent site "down near the river." This riverfront location likely offers a serene ambiance and the potential for river-related activities, although one reviewer noted that the river was "really low" during their stay, which was "a bummer." Despite this natural fluctuation, the allure of camping near a river often includes the soothing sounds of flowing water and the opportunity for wildlife observation. One reviewer who stayed at a tent site near the river appreciated the seclusion, noting "absolutely no one nearby the entire time," which could be a significant draw for those seeking privacy and a more immersive natural experience. However, it's worth noting that some riverbank erosion has led to sites 2 and 3 being unavailable.
The services and amenities at Lazy River Camping Area appear to cater to both tent and RV campers. One reviewer at a tent site mentioned the "nice added bonus" of "water and electricity hookup," which is a valuable convenience for charging devices and washing dishes, even at a more traditional tent site. This suggests that even some of the more rustic options might offer unexpected comforts. The campground also features a "nice pool," providing a recreational option for guests to cool off and relax during their stay. Adjacent to the pool are "horseshoe pits," offering another opportunity for outdoor fun and friendly competition.
For indoor recreation, the campground has a "nice pool table on the second floor of building where the office is." This provides an alternative activity, especially during inclement weather or for evening entertainment. The presence of an office building suggests that staff are readily available for check-in and assistance. The positive remarks about the "friendly staff" indicate that guests can expect a welcoming and helpful reception, contributing to a pleasant overall experience.
A unique aspect of Lazy River Camping Area, as highlighted by one reviewer, is that "they treat you like an adult and do not bother you if you’re not trouble/an idiot lol." This suggests a laid-back and non-intrusive management style, which might appeal to campers who prefer a more independent and less regimented camping experience. The fact that a guest has "been there multiple times and will be back again next year" speaks volumes about the positive and recurring experiences at this campground.
One potential drawback mentioned by a reviewer was that "the showers were only on the upper portion of the campground." This could be a consideration for those with campsites located further away, such as the tent sites down by the river. Local users with specific needs regarding shower access might want to inquire about the proximity of their chosen site to the shower facilities when booking.
While the majority of the feedback is positive, one cautionary note was raised regarding the purchase of firewood within the park: "Warning - do not buy camp wood from the girl that drives around the park in a grey silver pickup truck - its still wet (not seasoned) and will not burn." This is valuable information for local users to be aware of, suggesting that it might be advisable to bring seasoned firewood from an outside source or inquire about reliable firewood vendors upon arrival.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at Lazy River Camping Area should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about seasonal rates, potential discounts for local residents, or any special offers. Given its appealing riverside location, friendly staff, and amenities like a pool and recreational games, it likely offers a good value for a relaxing camping getaway in the Epsom, NH area. Inquiring about the best campsite options based on individual preferences (e.g., proximity to the river, hookups, shower access) is also recommended when booking.
In conclusion, Lazy River Camping Area in Epsom, NH, offers local users a promising "camping near me" option with a focus on a relaxed atmosphere and natural beauty. Its riverfront location provides a tranquil setting, while amenities like a pool and recreational games offer opportunities for fun. The friendly staff and the laid-back management style contribute to a positive guest experience, as evidenced by repeat visitors. While there are a few considerations, such as the location of showers and a warning about unseasoned firewood sold on-site, the overall sentiment suggests a pleasant and worthwhile camping destination. Local residents are encouraged to contact Lazy River Camping Area directly to learn more about availability and any potential special offers for a refreshing escape by the river.

Jul 22, 2024 · james galvinStayed here from Monday through Thursday. Had tent site #1 down near the river with absolutely no one nearby the entire time we were here, only because they don't rent out sites 2 or 3 because of riverbank erosion. Other than the road being close by, across the river, this place has been great. Not the campground's fault but the river was really low which was a bummer but my dog, my gf and I still enjoyed it. A nice added bonus was the water and electricity hookup which was nice for charging and washing dishes. Possibly the only downside was the fact that he showers were only on the upper portion of the campground. I'd give this place a 4.5 but Google only allows 4 or 5 stars.
Aug 16, 2022 · Michael RyanIt's a no frills easy going kind of place. I've been here a handful of times and the management is always great, and hands off. No fire Nazis coming around at night telling you to put the fire out, or to quiet down. They have a playground and a pool, and also offer activities. Go here and check it out.
