Suncook River Campground Reviews
We had an excellent stay at Suncook River Campground this weekend. The location was so convenient for us to get away from Boston (only an hour drive) and there were so many close by stores, restaurants, hiking trails, and other attractions. The campground itself is beautiful, with campsites located right along the river. We were in one of the glamping units which was exactly as advertised and very comfortable. The bathrooms were the best I have ever seen at a campground. Lastly, the front desk greeted us for easy check-in and escorted us to our site. 10/10 on service, maintenance, and overall camping experience. We had so much fun and will be returning annually!
Sep 29, 2024 · Amber TaylorOne of the best places to camp in the area, especially if you're coming up from Boston and don't want to drive for more than an hour or so.The retro camper I rented was beyond cozy and charming with a perfect view of the river less than 10 feet away. It's ideal if you'd like to fish, hike or just hang out by the campfire. As a bonus, the bathrooms (with indoor showers for people plus an outdoor dog washing station) were clean & completely bug - free.Staff were great too - the new management is fantastic from what I experienced. We will be returning with more friends next season.
Oct 01, 2024 · Malcolm DowleyI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Suncook River Campground in Allenstown, NH, with a group of old friends this fall, and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed in three of the campground's rental RVs, which were comfortable, clean, and perfect for our weekend getaway. The scenery was stunning—vibrant fall foliage surrounded the campground, making it a perfect spot to soak in the autumn colors. The management went all out with the seasonal decorations, filling the grounds with festive mums, pumpkins, cornstalks, and even spooky ghosts for Halloween. This made the whole place feel inviting and festive, adding to the fall charm and enhancing our stay. One of the highlights of our trip was the nearby Head’s Pond Trail. Located just a couple of miles away, the trail offered a gorgeous hike through more fall beauty, with scenic views that made every step worthwhile. The campground itself provided a great base for exploring the area and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Whether we were sitting around a campfire or taking a stroll along the river, the Suncook River Campground gave us the perfect place to reconnect with nature and each other. It’s a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, scenic fall camping experience.
Sep 29, 2024 · Phoebe FarberWe took one last fall camping weekend for the season and couldn’t be happier with our decision to check out Suncook River Camp. Very family and dog friendly, and despite an after dark arrival the first night the staff was so kind and helpful, including one of the new owners helping my fiancé back in our camper instead of me to ensure a great first night. The halloween decorations were a big hit with my daughter, as was the playground and bounce house. Waking up right on the river was amazing, and with the foliage it was extra magical. Everything was clean and everyone was friendly. We can’t wait to come back next summer when we can float the river too. My dogs loved it too!
Oct 16, 2024 · Kristin CostelloWe had a great trip! This was a first camping trip for our small kids so we stayed in one of the campers. It was amazingly comfortable (especially when we got some rain!) and was well appointed with pots, pans, a coffee press and cozy sheets and towels. We were right on the river and got to wake up and see it flowing peacefully by in the morning. 10/10 recommend this place if you’re looking for a “glamping” experience! Next time we’ll try our tent or even one of their new deck tents on the river! We canoed down the Suncook and the kids loved seeing the turtles, birds, and water lilies. While we made dinner, the kids played with other kids in the bouncy castle and playground. All in all, such a great family trip!
