Lid Creek Campground Introduce
For local residents of Martin City, Montana, and those in the surrounding Flathead Valley seeking a serene "camping near me" experience, Lid Creek Campground, located in Martin City, MT 59926, USA, offers a tranquil retreat. Situated in a location that provides "easy walk to the reservoir," this campground appeals to those looking for a peaceful escape with opportunities for water-related activities. While visitor reviews highlight the quiet and calm atmosphere and the cleanliness of the facilities, they also point out some important considerations for potential campers.
The environment surrounding Lid Creek Campground is characterized by its proximity to a reservoir, suggesting potential for activities such as fishing, boating (if permitted), and enjoying the lakeside scenery. The reviews consistently emphasize the quiet and calm nature of the campground, making it an attractive destination for those seeking a relaxing getaway away from more bustling areas. Martin City is located in a beautiful region of Montana, close to the stunning landscapes of Glacier National Park and the Flathead National Forest, indicating that campers can likely expect picturesque natural surroundings, including forests and potentially mountain views in the distance. The easy access to the reservoir further enhances the appeal for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
In terms of services and facilities, Lid Creek Campground appears to prioritize cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere. Multiple reviewers specifically commend the camp host for being "friendly" and for keeping the "bathroom so clean and tidy." This positive feedback regarding the restroom facilities is a significant plus for any campground. However, a crucial point to note, mentioned by a reviewer, is that "there was no water available at site so bring your own to put out your fire." This indicates that campers must be self-sufficient in providing their own water for all needs, including cooking, drinking, and fire safety. This is an essential piece of information for local users planning a stay at Lid Creek Campground.
The campground seems to offer individual campsites suitable for tents. However, one reviewer noted that "the spot for the tent was really bumpy and uneven," which led them to set up their tent on the parking spot behind their car. This suggests that while the campsites are designated, the terrain of some sites might be uneven, requiring campers to carefully choose their tent location or potentially adapt their setup. It would be beneficial for local users to inquire about the specific characteristics of individual campsites when making a reservation, if possible.
One reviewer mentioned that "there’s not a lot to do which is probably the point" of Lid Creek Campground. This reinforces the idea that this campground is geared towards those seeking a quiet and relaxing experience in nature, rather than a destination with numerous organized activities or extensive amenities. The primary draws appear to be the peaceful environment, the proximity to the reservoir, and the opportunity to unwind in a natural setting. The mention of "Lid creek campground site number six is a winner!" suggests that some campsites may be particularly desirable due to their location or features, although specifics are not provided.
Considering the platform category of "camping near me," Lid Creek Campground offers a local option for those prioritizing tranquility and access to a reservoir. The clean bathroom facilities and friendly camp host contribute to a positive camping experience. However, the lack of water at individual campsites is a significant factor that local users must be prepared for. The potential for uneven tent sites is another aspect to keep in mind when choosing a location within the campground.
Promotional information for Lid Creek Campground, aimed at local users, would likely emphasize its quiet and calm atmosphere, making it an ideal escape from the stresses of daily life. The easy walk to the reservoir and the friendly camp host could also be highlighted as key benefits. Given the positive feedback about the clean bathrooms, this is another feature that could be promoted to attract campers who value hygiene. To manage expectations regarding the lack of on-site water, any promotional material should clearly state that campers need to bring their own water supply.
To obtain more detailed information about Lid Creek Campground, local users can contact the provided phone numbers: (406) 646-1012 or +1 406-646-1012. Inquiries should focus on campsite availability, fees, regulations regarding campfires and reservoir access, and any specific recommendations for preparing for the lack of on-site water. It might also be helpful to ask about the terrain of different campsites to choose the most suitable location for tent setup. Information about the operating season of the campground would also be essential for planning a trip.
In conclusion, Lid Creek Campground near Martin City, Montana, offers a peaceful "camping near me" experience with easy access to a reservoir. The campground is praised for its quiet and calm environment, clean bathroom facilities, and friendly camp host. However, local users must be aware that there is no water available at individual campsites and should come prepared with their own supply. Additionally, some tent sites may have uneven terrain. For those seeking a tranquil retreat in nature with proximity to water, Lid Creek Campground could be a great option, provided they are prepared for the self-sufficiency required regarding water.

Lid Creek Campground Reviews
Campsite was nice and quiet with an easy walk to the reservoir. Bathroom was clean. There was no water available at site so bring your own to put out your fire. Camp host was friendly. The spot for the tent was really bumpy and uneven so we ended up putting the tent on the parking spot behind the car.
Sep 11, 2024 · Shauna NielsonWe loved camping out here. It is so quiet and calm. There’s not a lot to do which is probably the point. Lid creek campground site number six is a winner! A big thank you to the host of this campground who kept the bathroom so clean and tidy.
Aug 22, 2024 · LS SheldonThis campground is off the beaten path and that's exactly what it should be. The hosts were really nice and even helped us get situated. The negatives are things I'm fine with but you might not be; bathrooms less than stellar, no potable water, not much level ground for big tents. HOWEVER, I don't care. The lake was great, and it was beautiful and quiet. Score!
Aug 17, 2019 · Sal GianiStayed in spot 21. Excellent little location, beautiful trees, little creek running through down to lake. (Camped while a tad colder so no mosquito issue, or else this spot would likely have mosquitoes. We were private only due to off season, if it was busy, we'd be able to view two other campsites from this spot. Has vault bathrooms, picnic tables, and fire ring with moving grill rack. Most spots cater to RV, as there is not much room to place a tent. Except spot 21 😊. Quick walk to the water.
