Loop C Campground Introduce
For local users in Ohio specifically seeking a "camping near me" experience tailored for tent camping, Loop C Campground, located in Belmont, OH 43718, USA, offers a unique section dedicated solely to tents. Priced at $32 per night according to one review, Loop C provides a more secluded and nature-immersive camping option compared to other areas of the campground. However, potential visitors should be aware of certain characteristics, including uneven terrain and the distance to some amenities.
The environment of Loop C Campground's tent-only section is described as being situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, offering a sense of privacy as most of the campsites are not directly visible from the main campground area. The layout features a half-circle of sites nestled around the edge of the woods, with a large hill located in the middle of the loop. This arrangement suggests a more natural and potentially quieter setting, ideal for those looking to escape into the woods. The seclusion of the sites could appeal to campers seeking a more intimate connection with nature and a greater sense of being away from other campers. The surrounding woods likely provide shade and contribute to a more rustic camping feel. However, the presence of a central hill might impact the accessibility and layout of some campsites within the loop.
In terms of services and features specific to the tent-only Loop C, there are some notable points to consider. Restroom facilities are available in the form of pit toilets, located on the other side of the parking lot from the tent sites. This proximity might be convenient for some, but it's important to note that these are pit toilets, which are a more basic type of restroom facility. Showers, on the other hand, are located at the beginning of Loop C, near the general store. For campers situated further into the loop, this would entail a "long walk just for a shower," which could be inconvenient, especially for those planning longer stays or valuing easy access to showering facilities. Campers should factor this distance into their planning and consider it based on their personal preferences and needs.
A significant feature and a potential challenge of the tent-only sites in Loop C is that "most of the sites are not level." This requires tent campers to be strategic in their tent placement to find a manageable area. One reviewer noted that while most sites are uneven, it is still possible to camp comfortably if the tent is positioned properly. They also mentioned that site #132, which they had reserved based on pictures, was not level. However, they believed that site #124, located at the top of the hill, was flat but also the furthest from the parking lot. This highlights the importance of utilizing the campground's online reservation system, where campers can "click on the site to see a picture before booking." This feature allows potential visitors to get a visual idea of the terrain of specific campsites and make informed decisions based on their tent setup and preferences for level ground and proximity to parking.
Another important aspect of camping in Loop C, as noted by a visitor who stayed in late July, is the significant "animal activity at night." They strongly advise campers to "put your food in the car or very secure container" due to the presence of wildlife. The reviewer also mentioned hearing "lots of animal calls throughout the night." This indicates that Loop C is situated in an environment with an active wildlife population, which can be a unique and enjoyable aspect for nature lovers. However, campers must take precautions to secure their food and belongings to avoid attracting animals to their campsites. Being prepared for nighttime animal sounds is also advisable for a comfortable sleep.
While the reviewer acknowledged that the "restrooms could use an update," they still found it to be a "nice campground" overall. However, they offered a somewhat contradictory piece of advice, stating, "if your looking for a tent only site avoid the tent only sites. They are not level." This suggests that while Loop C is designated for tent camping, the uneven terrain of many sites might be a significant drawback for some tent campers. Potential visitors should carefully consider this aspect and utilize the online picture preview during booking to select a site that appears more level, such as the mentioned site #124 at the top of the hill, while also considering its distance from the parking area.
Promotional information is limited to the $32 per night price mentioned for the tent-only section. Local users interested in Loop C Campground should likely visit the campground's website or contact the main campground for more detailed information about availability, specific campsite features (including photos), other amenities beyond the pit toilets and distant showers, and any potential discounts or seasonal rates. Given the specific nature of Loop C as a tent-only area with its own set of considerations, it would be beneficial to gather as much information as possible before making a reservation. The address provided, Belmont, OH 43718, USA, is a general location, and finding the specific contact details for Loop C Campground within the larger camping area might require further online search or contacting nearby campgrounds in the Belmont area.
In conclusion, Loop C Campground offers a tent-only camping experience near Belmont, Ohio, characterized by secluded, wooded campsites and active wildlife. The lower visibility from the main campground and the natural setting could appeal to those seeking a more rustic and private escape. However, potential visitors must be prepared for uneven terrain on most campsites and a potentially long walk to the showers located outside the loop. The availability of online pictures for individual sites is a valuable tool for selecting a more suitable location. While the pit toilets are the restroom facility within Loop C, the overall campground is described as nice. Tent campers looking for a more secluded experience in a natural environment with abundant wildlife should consider Loop C, but they should also carefully plan their site selection and be aware of the specific conditions and amenities of this tent-only section.

Loop C Campground Reviews
This review is for Loop C, Tent only section. $32It is at the end of the caltisak. Most of the sites are not visible from the rest of the campground. The sites go in a half circle around the edge of the woods and in the middle is a large hill. Restroom (pit toilets) is on the other side of the parking lot and showers are at the beginning of loop c by the general store, it'd be a long walk just for a shower....Most of the sites are not level but still manageable if tent is placed properly. The site I reserved in the pictures is #132. I believe 124 is flat the top of the hill but it is furthest from the parking lot. When reserving click on the site to see a picture before booking.I stayed here July 28th and there was a lot of animal activity at night. Put your food in the car or very secure container. Lots of animal calls throughout the night as well.
