Manatee Hammock Campground Introduce
For local users in the Titusville, Florida area seeking "camping near me," Manatee Hammock Campground, located at 7275 US-1, Titusville, FL 32780, USA, offers a riverside camping experience with a unique potential perk: views of rocket launches from nearby Cape Canaveral. You can contact them at (321) 264-5083 or +1 321-264-5083 for inquiries and reservations. However, it's important for prospective campers to be aware of the mixed reviews regarding the campground's facilities and noise levels before making a decision.
The environment of Manatee Hammock Campground is defined by its location right on the river. This offers the potential for scenic waterfront views and possibly river-related activities, although the reviews do not specify if direct river access for swimming or boating is readily available from the campsites. For tent campers, being right on the river might lead to some condensation, as mentioned by one reviewer, so bringing a quick-dry towel is advisable. A significant environmental feature, unique to this location, is the "perfectly clear view of the launch pad" at Cape Canaveral. This makes the campground a potentially prime spot for viewing rocket launches, which can be a spectacular experience.
However, the location also presents an environmental drawback. The campground is situated right on US-1, a potentially busy highway. This proximity to a major road results in significant traffic noise, which one reviewer described as "lots of traffic" and a lack of true isolation. While they noted that one can "kinda get used it, sorta like background noise," it's a factor that could detract from the peacefulness of a camping experience for some individuals. Additionally, one negative review likened the noise to sleeping on the highway and at the airport, further exacerbated by a train that reportedly honks three times a night, severely impacting sleep quality.
Services and facilities at Manatee Hammock Campground appear to have received mixed feedback. One positive review mentions "clean facilities and friendly staff," which is a significant plus. However, a starkly contrasting review describes the bathrooms as "DISGUSTING," indicating a potentially severe issue with cleanliness. This discrepancy suggests that the condition of the facilities might be inconsistent or that different campers have vastly different standards or experiences. The positive review also mentions the helpfulness of the initial staff during check-in.
A concerning service issue raised in the negative review involves a refusal to extend a stay due to a conflict regarding the authority of the staff who initially allowed the stay. This suggests potential inconsistencies in management or staff communication, which could lead to frustrating situations for campers. It's important to note that this is just one account, but it highlights a potential risk regarding booking extensions or modifications.
Features of Manatee Hammock Campground, beyond its riverside location and potential rocket launch views, are not extensively detailed. The positive review mentions the proximity to various stores, some restaurants, and the Cape Canaveral/Titusville area, making it a convenient base for exploring local attractions and amenities by car or bike. This suggests that while the immediate campground environment might be noisy, its location offers good access to the surrounding area.
Promotional information is limited to the positive aspects mentioned in one review: the nice campground, clean facilities, friendly staff, riverside location, and excellent view of the launch pad. These points would certainly be attractive to potential campers, especially those interested in space launches or waterfront camping with convenient access to local amenities. However, the strongly negative review serves as a crucial counterpoint, indicating that these positive aspects might not be consistently experienced by all visitors.
For local users in the "camping near me" category considering Manatee Hammock Campground, it is essential to weigh the potential benefits against the reported drawbacks. The opportunity to see rocket launches and camp by the river are significant attractions. The proximity to local stores, restaurants, and the Cape Canaveral area adds to the convenience. However, the serious concerns raised about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the significant noise from the adjacent highway and train are major factors that could negatively impact the camping experience, particularly for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
The conflicting accounts of staff friendliness and the issue with extending a stay also suggest a degree of inconsistency in the management or operation of the campground. Prospective campers might want to inquire specifically about the current condition of the facilities and any policies regarding extending stays before booking. It would also be beneficial to seek more recent reviews from various sources to get a broader and more up-to-date picture of the campground's current state.
In conclusion, Manatee Hammock Campground offers a unique riverside camping experience near Titusville, FL, with the potential for excellent rocket launch views. Its location provides convenient access to local amenities and attractions. However, local users should be aware of the significant concerns raised in one review regarding the cleanliness of the bathrooms and substantial noise from the nearby highway and train. The conflicting reports about staff also warrant consideration. While the positive review highlights clean facilities and friendly staff, the negative review paints a very different picture. Therefore, thorough research and potentially direct communication with the campground are strongly recommended to determine if Manatee Hammock Campground meets your expectations for a local camping getaway.

Manatee Hammock Campground Reviews
the worst campground i have ever been to. The first ladies were nice, checked our car and gave us our parking lot. But the blonde haired "karen" refusee to let us extend our stay because in her words " the other ladies do not work here that often and shouldn't have allowed us to stay here in the first place". The bathrooms are DISGUSTING - you feel as if you're sleeping on the highway oh and at the airport too - the train will honk 3 times a night so have fun getting sleep. Not coming back ever again.
Apr 29, 2025 · Eliz TelliNice campground with clean facilities and friendly staff. Right on the river so if you’re tent camping like me be prepared for a little condensation (bring a quick dry towel). Beautiful perfectly clear view of the launch pad so if there’s rockets going up you’re all set.The location itself is good not great (lots of traffic from US1) so you’re not really isolated but you kinda get used it, sorta like background noise.Close to drive or bike to various stores, some restaurants and of course Cape Canaveral / Titusville area. I would definitely stay again.
Mar 19, 2025 · Dave WittGreat place to camp. There is a pool, laundry facilities, a fishing pier, and a boat launch for nonmotorized boats. Beautiful water view. Great spot for viewing space launches. There is a Pickleball court. Lots of trees and shade. Sites are large enough for camper and a tent or canopy. There is also a tent section that allows 2 tents per site. There are no grills or fire pits or rings provided. Full hookups available at most sites. Office has a camp store for camping related items. Unless you have kids, don't camp near the pool especially on the weekend as it is usually packs full of kids and loud. There is also a fenced in large dog park that is clean and maintained. The sites are clean with very few bugs and ants. They have on site night security that responds quickly when called and that is from personal experience.
Apr 26, 2025 · Georgia HeathWhen we arrived I was handed a 2 page list of rules along with a handful of verbal rules that weren’t on the list, such as not being allowed to sleep in your car at night and that security would be coming around to check. What if you aren’t properly prepared for the weather or your gear fails? It was stated we’d be escorted from the property by security if we did. Rules are plastered on every surface around the campgrounds. The bathrooms have 2 pages with about 20 “fun facts” each, all of which are rules. 😂 Tent sites are really small and sandy so tent stakes don’t stay anchored. We were woken up by loud train horns 3x in a single night, one of which went on for about a minute. Car, plane, boat and train traffic are clearly audible from the whole campground along with police sirens and construction noise. Heard several gunshots throughout the night. I have videos of the noise at night but can only upload photos for reviews. I thought I had booked for 2 nights but mistakenly only booked one, which is absolutely my fault for not double checking. However, I missed a call from the office and called back within 30 minutes. The lady who answered was very rude and short with us. I never received a confirmation email so I couldn’t verify but we were honestly just relieved to be leaving this campground. Went to a hotel instead.
Mar 09, 2025 · Mariah PesnellThe only thing going for this campground is the view and the ability to watch launches. Upon arrival, you get 2 pages of rules, many of which don't seem to apply to everyone. If you arrive early, you are greeted with a scolding, and reminded that check in is at 2 p.m. However, once you are there you realize that there is really no reason because they do nothing to your campsite between guests. Our campsite was not groomed in any way. We noted that some guests were allowed to stay in their cars in the RV site in front of us. But just days before, they kicked out another camper who wanted to sleep in his car. Some campers were re-assigned to different sites because their set up did not meet their size requirements. Meanwhile, the campground was no where near full and it wouldn't have hurt a thing to let them be. In the same breath, we noted tiny campers in the big rig sections. Rules not consistently enforced. I personally saw a tent camper discharge their gray water thru a short garden hose into the drainage ditch, right in front of our campsite. I did report that, and they came out and never even checked that camper, they checked their neighbor instead. They continued to discharge gray water their entire stay. During the day and early evening, anyone is allowed to come into the campground unchecked. The neighboring trailer courts come through in their golf carts and cruise the streets. I reported that too, and was told, yea, they do that. Meanwhile, they have "security" at night making rounds. Their gate does not lock at night. Their laundry room is filthy. I did not use the showers or restroom. They were spending some time planting some flowers, but the campground itself needed mowed and trimmed badly. Campsites are tight, some nicely spaced, but most are not.
