Meadowbrook Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Adirondack region of New York, Meadowbrook Campground, located at 1174 NY-86, Ray Brook, NY 12977, USA, presents a small and potentially convenient option. Situated in Ray Brook, this campground offers proximity to local amenities and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding Adirondack attractions. However, it's important for prospective campers to be aware of both the positive and negative feedback regarding the campground's environment and noise levels.
One of the frequently highlighted positive aspects of Meadowbrook Campground is its friendly and accommodating staff. According to one reviewer, the staff is described as "so friendly, easy going and honestly just a delight to be around." This positive interaction with the campground staff can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, creating a welcoming and helpful atmosphere. Their easy-going nature suggests a relaxed environment that some campers may find appealing.
Cleanliness is another area where Meadowbrook Campground receives positive feedback. The campground is noted to be "very clean," and the reviewer specifically mentions that the "bathroom and showers" are "excellent for camping." Maintaining clean and well-kept facilities is crucial for a comfortable camping experience, and Meadowbrook Campground appears to prioritize this aspect. This can be a significant draw for campers who value hygiene and well-maintained amenities.
The size of Meadowbrook Campground is described as "small," which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on individual preferences. A smaller campground might offer a more intimate and cozy atmosphere, potentially fostering a greater sense of community among campers. It could also mean fewer amenities compared to larger campgrounds. The reviewer who found it great described it as "cute and cozy," suggesting that its size contributes to its charm.
The location of Meadowbrook Campground is described as being "right in the center of the city" by one reviewer. While Ray Brook is a smaller community within the Adirondack region and not typically considered a large city, this statement implies that the campground is conveniently located near local services, shops, and possibly restaurants. This accessibility to urban amenities can be a significant advantage for campers who want to easily access supplies or enjoy local dining options during their stay.
However, a significant concern raised by another reviewer pertains to the noise levels at Meadowbrook Campground. This review states that the campground is located "directly on a busy main road with a lot of traffic sounds constantly." This constant noise from passing vehicles could be disruptive for campers seeking a peaceful and quiet natural retreat. The reviewer found the traffic noise to be a major drawback.
Furthermore, the same reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the enforcement of quiet hours. They reported that the "10pm quiet hour is not enforced" and that "teenagers/children have been heard yelling and shouting at all hours of the night every night I’ve been here (3 nights)." This lack of enforcement of quiet hours can significantly impact the camping experience for those who value a peaceful night's sleep. The reviewer described this noise from other campers as "obnoxious and rude," particularly for those using the campground as a base for early morning activities.
Based on this feedback, it's crucial for local users considering Meadowbrook Campground to weigh the positives, such as the friendly staff and cleanliness, against the potential negatives, particularly the noise from traffic and other campers due to the lack of enforced quiet hours. If you are sensitive to noise or prioritize a tranquil camping environment, Meadowbrook Campground might not be the ideal choice.
The conflicting reviews highlight the importance of considering individual preferences and priorities when choosing a campground. While some may appreciate the friendly staff and convenient location despite the noise, others may find the constant disturbances unacceptable. The description of the grounds themselves as "fine" suggests that the physical environment of the campsites is adequate, but the external and internal noise factors appear to be significant drawbacks for some visitors.
The provided information does not include any details about specific services or features beyond the bathrooms and showers. It also lacks any mention of promotional offers or pricing. In conclusion, Meadowbrook Campground in Ray Brook, NY, offers a small and clean camping option with a friendly staff and a convenient location near local amenities and Adirondack activities. However, potential campers should be aware of the significant concerns raised regarding constant traffic noise from its location on a busy main road and the reported lack of enforcement of quiet hours, leading to noise disturbances from other campers. If a quiet and peaceful camping experience is a top priority, it would be wise to consider these factors carefully before making a reservation at Meadowbrook Campground.

Meadowbrook Campground Reviews
This is a small campground but it's a great one. The staff is so friendly, easy going and honestly just a delight to be around. The campground is very clean. Along with the bathroom and showers being excellent for camping. If you are looking for a cute and cozy campground right in the center of the city then come on by.
Aug 06, 2024 · Jenna WryeDirectly on a busy main road with a lot of traffic sounds constantly. The grounds themselves are fine but the 10pm quiet hour is not enforced and teenagers/children have been heard yelling and shouting at all hours of the night every night I’ve been here (3 nights). It’s obnoxious and rude for those of us just utilizing the grounds as a place nearby to activities we’re trying to do early in the am. Would not recommend this campground unless you’re ok with A LOT of noise from cars, trucks, and other campers.
Jun 28, 2024 · CThe campground itself is cute. They clean frequently. Staff is great. I saw online that the road was noises so I picked rhe plot furtherst away from the road. But it was still very loud. Not only that, it's next to a lumber yard and that is also very loud in the morning. You likely won't be sleeping in lol
Aug 21, 2024 · Karena WitherowThis is a good campground for travellers. This is not backcountry or quiet off the grid camping. It’s fairly noisy during the day and busy, but not in a bad way. First night I was worried about all the noise and by 10pm it was essentially silent. Traffic on the road dies down and the restaurant next door closes and the campground is very quiet. The facilities were always super clean and nice to use. The staff were friendly and approachable and the campsites were nice. Second night I had to move over along the fence by the lumber yard and there was some lights, but honestly they were not that bad. This is a perfect spot to camp for a few days and explore Lake Placid and surrounding area.
Sep 01, 2023 · J HauberWe booked late for the Ironman. We ended up on site 57, plenty of space for our travel trailer and a tent. Staff were all wonderful. Great value for the price. We enjoyed our stay.
