Miles Landing Campground Introduce
For local adventurers seeking "camping near me" in the Elberfeld, Indiana area, Miles Landing Campground presents itself as a tranquil and conveniently located option. This veteran-owned and operated campground offers a variety of accommodation choices, catering to different camping styles, including RV enthusiasts, tent campers, and those looking for a more rustic experience in their onsite primitive cabin. With its promise of reasonable rates and a straightforward reservation process, Miles Landing Campground aims to provide a pleasant and hassle-free outdoor experience for local users.
Miles Landing Campground offers a range of camping environments to suit various preferences. For RV travelers, the campground features pull-thru sites equipped with full hookups, including both 30 and 50 amp electrical service. One reviewer specifically noted the level nature and generous length of these sites, easily accommodating larger travel trailers and tow vehicles. These full hookup sites provide the convenience of electricity, water, and sewer connections, making them ideal for longer stays or those who prefer the comforts of their RV. In addition to RV sites, Miles Landing Campground also accommodates tent campers, although specific details about the tent camping environment, such as designated areas or amenities specific to tent sites, are not elaborated upon in the provided information. For a more unique experience, the campground also offers a primitive cabin, suggesting a step up from tent camping while still maintaining a rustic charm. Local users interested in tent camping or the primitive cabin should contact the campground directly for more details on these options.
The services and features at Miles Landing Campground are designed to enhance the camping experience. The availability of firewood on-site, conveniently located near the entrance, adds to the traditional camping atmosphere and allows for campfires and cooking. Trash bins are also located in the entrance area, along with a dump station, which is a crucial amenity for RV campers as it allows for the proper disposal of wastewater. The campground is also pet-friendly, making it a suitable choice for local campers who wish to bring their animal companions along on their outdoor excursions. Notably, just past the entrance of the campground is the Milestone Event Center, which can be reserved for various functions such as receptions and parties. While not directly a camping service, its proximity could be a feature of interest for local users looking to combine a camping trip with an event or for those needing event space for other occasions.
One of the highlighted features of Miles Landing Campground is its veteran ownership and operation, which often implies a commitment to service and attention to detail. The positive review praised the pleasant and helpful owner, suggesting a welcoming and well-managed environment. The online reservation system, which allows campers to choose their specific spot and prepay, adds a layer of convenience and ensures a smooth arrival process. This feature is particularly beneficial for local users who may want to plan their camping trip in advance and avoid any check-in hassles upon arrival.
Promotional aspects of Miles Landing Campground, based on the provided information, include its reasonable rates, although specific pricing details are not mentioned. The availability of different types of camping – RV with full hookups, tent camping, and a primitive cabin – caters to a broader range of local camping needs. The positive testimonials, particularly the detailed review praising the level pull-thru sites, full hookups, fire ring, picnic table, and the helpful owner, serve as strong word-of-mouth promotion. The mention of its tranquil atmosphere suggests a peaceful retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The pet-friendly policy also acts as a promotion to a significant segment of the local camping community.
However, it is essential to present a balanced view, and one of the provided reviews expresses significant dissatisfaction, particularly for long-term stays during colder weather. This review mentions issues with the campground roads having "big holes" that became problematic after rain. The primary complaint, however, revolves around a specific rule regarding RV underpinning for winter stays. The reviewer was informed that they needed to either have a professional company install underpinning at a significant cost or use painted black insulation board. The lack of prior notification about this rule before moving to the campground was a major point of contention. While this negative experience seems to be specific to a long-term winter stay and might not reflect the experience of short-term or warmer-weather campers, it is crucial for local users considering longer stays, especially during winter, to inquire about any specific regulations or requirements beforehand.
In conclusion, Miles Landing Campground offers a potentially tranquil and convenient camping experience for local users in the Elberfeld, Indiana area. Its veteran ownership, variety of camping options (RV with full hookups, tent camping, and a primitive cabin), and amenities like level pull-thru sites, online reservations, fire rings, picnic tables, firewood, and a dump station are attractive features. The pet-friendly policy and the presence of the Milestone Event Center nearby add further appeal. However, local users, especially those considering longer stays or camping during the winter months, should be aware of the potential road conditions and the specific rules regarding RV underpinning, as highlighted in one of the reviews. For short-term stays and those camping in warmer seasons, Miles Landing Campground appears to be a reasonably priced and well-equipped option within the "camping near me" category, offering a pleasant outdoor getaway managed by a helpful owner. It is recommended that local users contact Miles Landing Campground directly at (812) 457-6447 or +1 812-457-6447 to inquire about specific site availability, pricing, and any regulations that may affect their stay, ensuring a well-informed and enjoyable camping experience.

Miles Landing Campground Reviews
Veteran owned and operated, Miles Landing Campground is a tranquil place to RV, to tent camp, or to stay in their onsite primitive cabin. With reasonable rates, too. We reserved and chose our spot by visiting their website. Prepaid, too, so you don't have to do anything but arrive and go straight to your selected spot. We chose pull thru 30/50 amp full hookup site 26, which was level and quite a bit longer than our travel trailer and tow vehicle. It also had a fire ring and a picnic table. Firewood is available from a lean-to closer to the entrance of the campground. Trash bins as well as a dump station is in that area, too. Just past the entrance is Milestone Event Center which can be reserved for receptions, parties, or other functions. Pet friendly. Very pleasant, helpful owner. Thank you!
Apr 29, 2025 · Theresa EI would have rather given them no stars. When we got there it of course was freezing and the man in front of us his water was frozen. So we put our underpin that we use for the winter up. It’s grey tarp and we use clips to hold it to our rv and we use 2x4 and roll the excess around the 2x4 to hold it down and it doesn’t look bad. Wellllllll the owner comes by and tells us we have to have a company come out and put tthis underpinning on and it cost @ $4,000.00 or you can get insulation board up but you have to paint it black. So I felt as if they had these types of rules they should have been mentioned before we moved there. Also the park has big holes all throughout the roads. It rained and oh what a mess it was. If your staying a night or two probably not a bad place but I would NOT Recommend a month. Especially in the winter!!!!!
Dec 22, 2024 · sherry evansBeautiful property. The grass was always mowed. The grounds were clean. They have dumpsters and a dump station , Water and electric hook ups, bathrooms with a shower. once I stayed there the bathroom was filthy. The next time I stayed there the bathroom was spotless.( there was an event taking place.) There are zero activities/amenities. It would be great if they would put in a coin laundry, and some snacks and beverages for purchase . It’s a bit of a drive to get to a store . The plus side of that is it’s a quiet, peaceful location away from traffic.
Aug 11, 2024 · Jocelyn GarmanNo amenities in terms of playgrounds, pools. There is a large pond that i think one may fish. Very large bathouse. No frills but clean. It appears this park is growing the number of sites. We were in No. 26 at the end. Good water pressure. Good value for the rate
Mar 26, 2025 · rick mayberryI stayed here 5 years ago and liked it....but i stayed during the eclipse and LOVED it. Man, has this family done a lot of work to make it a destination campground! They have updated and renovated the shower houses/restrooms and it was immaculate and inviting. They have built an entertainment venue and while we were there they were sealing the new floors, which were beautiful. The huge patio overlooking a wooded lot is accessed by a series of garage doors (very popular and shabby chic.)There is plenty of property to roam around and the spots are very nice. I'm so excited for their future.By the way, for the eclipse they offered guest parking outside of the campsites, they had a food truck and they handed out eclipse viewing glasses. Class act.
