Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey Introduce
For local residents in the Maple Grove, Minnesota area seeking "camping near me," the Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey, located at 10410 Brockton Ln N, Maple Grove, MN 55311, USA, presents a well-known option under the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) brand. KOA campgrounds are often recognized for providing a range of amenities and services for various types of campers. Based on recent customer feedback, the Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey appears to offer some commendable aspects, such as clean restrooms and showers, as well as friendly staff who provide a welcoming experience. However, it's important to note that some reviewers have also highlighted significant concerns regarding waterlogged campsites, mosquito issues, and the overall condition of the facilities. Therefore, local users should consider both the positive and negative feedback when evaluating this campground for their next camping adventure.
The environment of the Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey, according to one positive review, is described as "beautiful and clean." This suggests that the general upkeep of the property, outside of the individual campsites in some instances, is well-maintained. The positive reviewer specifically praised the cleanliness of the restrooms and showers, which can be a significant factor for many campers. However, another, more critical review paints a different picture of the campsite environment, reporting "inches of water" across their campsite for the entire duration of their stay. This waterlogging was accompanied by "huge swarms of mosquitos" and muddy conditions with "ruts and pits everywhere." This stark contrast in environmental descriptions suggests that the condition of individual campsites might vary significantly, and potential water drainage issues could be a concern, particularly during or after periods of rain. The surrounding area of Maple Grove is suburban, so while the KOA might offer a green space for camping, it's likely not a remote wilderness experience. The mention of the property being "beautiful" by one reviewer still suggests an effort to maintain an aesthetically pleasing overall environment.
The services at Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey seem to include standard KOA offerings. The positive review highlighted "amazing customer service" and a welcoming atmosphere, indicating that the staff is a strong point. The availability of "restrooms and showers" is mentioned by both reviewers, with the positive one emphasizing their cleanliness, while the negative one did not directly comment on their cleanliness but focused on the campsite conditions and dated facilities. KOA campgrounds typically offer a range of amenities, which might include laundry facilities, a camp store for supplies, Wi-Fi access (though its reliability isn't mentioned in these reviews), and possibly recreational areas or activities. The negative review mentioned paying extra for their kids, which might suggest additional charges for certain amenities or activities offered at the campground. However, the core services appear to include basic camping infrastructure, restroom and shower facilities, and staff assistance. The discrepancy in campsite conditions reported by the reviews suggests that the quality of individual services or sites might vary.
The features of Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey are typical of a KOA Journey campground, which usually caters to both short-term and longer-term stays, offering a mix of RV sites, tent sites, and potentially cabin rentals (though cabins are not explicitly mentioned in these reviews). A significant feature highlighted by the positive review is the cleanliness of the restrooms and showers, which is often a key factor for camper comfort. The friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere also stand out as positive features. However, the negative review points out some significant drawbacks, including campsites that were severely waterlogged with mud ruts and pits, and a pervasive mosquito problem. The reviewer also described the facilities as "very dated and/or in need of repair," suggesting that the overall infrastructure might be showing its age. The lack of gravel to address the water and mud issues was also noted as a deficiency. These contrasting viewpoints indicate that while the campground might offer some desirable features like clean facilities and friendly service, potential issues with campsite conditions and the age of the amenities could detract from the overall experience. Local users should weigh these potential features and drawbacks based on their individual priorities and camping needs.
The provided customer reviews do not contain any specific information about promotional offers or discounts for Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey. For local users seeking "camping near me" and interested in potential special rates or seasonal promotions, it is recommended to contact the campground directly at (763) 420-2255 or +1 763-420-2255. As part of the KOA network, it's also worth checking the official KOA website (www.koa.com) for any nationwide promotions, loyalty programs (like KOA Rewards), or seasonal discounts that might be applicable to this specific location. KOA often offers various ways to save on camping, such as member discounts, extended stay rates, or special offers during certain times of the year. Given the mixed reviews regarding campsite conditions, it might also be prudent to inquire about the specific site you are booking and whether any recent improvements or remediation efforts have been made to address the water and mud issues reported by a reviewer. Checking for online deals or calling the campground directly will provide the most up-to-date information on pricing and any available promotions.
In conclusion, for local residents in the Maple Grove area considering "camping near me," the Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey offers a location with friendly staff and reportedly clean restrooms and showers. However, potential campers should be aware of concerns raised by other reviewers regarding waterlogged campsites, significant mosquito issues, and dated facilities in need of repair. The environment of the campground seems to be generally clean, but the condition of individual campsites might vary. While the services include standard KOA offerings and friendly staff, the potential for problematic campsite conditions is a significant factor to consider. The features are typical of a KOA Journey, but the age and maintenance of the facilities appear to be areas of concern for some. To inquire about current pricing and any promotional offers, local users should contact the campground directly or check the official KOA website. It is advisable to seek the most recent information and possibly inquire about the specific campsite you are interested in to ensure it meets your expectations, especially regarding potential water and mosquito issues.

Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey Reviews
First time ever going to a KOA. This is absolutely perfect. We are so happy that we booked with them. We are looking forward to our next stay and many more. The property is beautiful and clean. I have been at other camp sites and the restroom and showers were nasty. I was not expecting this to be so clean. The customer service was amazing. We felt really welcomed.
Sep 07, 2024 · Autumn StaubStaff was friendly and location good, but it stops there. Our campsite was under inches of water the entire time we were there with huge swarms of mosquitos and mud ruts and pits everywhere. It was an absolute joke to think we paid good money and even extra for our kids for this place to be stuck inside the entire time. Everything was very dated and/or need of repair. This place needs a lot of work and gravel to repair the water/mud issues. Sorry, won't be back ever again.
Jun 03, 2024 · Beverly KacenaStayed June 1-June 2, 2023 in our Class A 40ft (towing pickup for a total of 60 ft) on a 50amp electric/water site. Dumping station was easy to access when leaving. There are full service but we didn't feel it was necessary for one night. Very friendly staff and always nice to have someone escort you to your site on the best route when you've got a large rig. We detached but found we hadn't needed to. Pool was chilly but felt great during the heat wave (31C). Site was grassy and decent space between neighbours, although they were set up so each unit alternated which way they faced so you didn't have privacy from your neighbour. All around a good stay for the night.
Jul 13, 2023 · Taking the SEAnic routeWe were very happy with our stay at the KOA. It’s evident the owners take pride in their campground. The park is clean with many amenities to keep children busy. There’s not a ton of privacy but some more secluded campsites near the rear of the park. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are hot!! What more could you ask for?
Jul 10, 2023 · Kristal PhilippThis KOA was amazing! The hosts and Gary truly care about their guests. They were helpful, professional, friendly and courteous. The entire property was well maintained and immaculate, including the showers. Hard to believe it's right in the city. We couldn't have been happier. We'll be back for sure.
