Ham Lake Resort Introduce
For local users seeking a relaxing camping experience with unique features in the "camping near me" category, Ham Lake Resort, located at 2400 Constance Blvd NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304, USA, presents an interesting option. This campground appears to offer a blend of natural beauty, opportunities for recreation, and a welcoming atmosphere, although it also has certain characteristics that potential visitors should be aware of. If you're looking for a local escape where you can unwind, enjoy fishing, and even interact with animals, Ham Lake Resort might be worth considering.
Several reviewers express positive sentiments about the environment of Ham Lake Resort. One visitor was "in awe of how beautiful this place is," suggesting that the campground boasts an attractive natural setting. This could include scenic views, pleasant landscaping, or proximity to natural features that enhance the overall camping experience. For local users seeking a visually appealing and tranquil environment for their getaway, this positive feedback is encouraging. The opportunity to relax in a beautiful setting is often a primary motivation for choosing a campground.
A significant highlight mentioned by multiple reviewers is the friendly and loving nature of the staff. One guest specifically noted that "the people that work there is so loving and friendly" and that they "welcome u with open arms." This emphasis on hospitality can greatly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel comfortable and valued. The staff's willingness to answer questions with a smile further contributes to a positive and supportive atmosphere. For local campers who appreciate a warm and welcoming environment, Ham Lake Resort seems to prioritize customer service.
Ham Lake Resort also offers specific features that might appeal to certain local users. The presence of goats on-site is described as "awesome" by one reviewer, suggesting a unique opportunity for animal encounters, which could be particularly enjoyable for families with children. Additionally, the campground has a "nice playground area," providing a dedicated space for kids to play and stay entertained. These family-friendly features make Ham Lake Resort a potential destination for local families seeking a camping experience with activities for children.
For those interested in water activities, Ham Lake Resort offers canoe rentals on any day except Sunday. This provides an opportunity to explore any water bodies within or near the resort, adding a recreational element to the camping trip. However, one reviewer mentioned that while kayaks are claimed to be available, they had not seen any at the rental area during their visits. Local users specifically interested in kayaking might want to verify their availability with the resort beforehand. The Sunday restriction on canoe rentals is an unusual detail that potential visitors should note when planning their activities.
In terms of practical services, Ham Lake Resort does offer the convenience of firewood delivery directly to your campsite after purchase. This is a thoughtful service that can save campers time and effort in obtaining firewood for campfires, a quintessential part of the camping experience. This small but significant service adds to the overall convenience of staying at the resort.
However, some reviews also point out certain aspects of Ham Lake Resort that local users should consider. One recurring concern is the proximity of the campsites to each other. Multiple reviewers noted that "the camping spots are close together" and "the sites are right on top of each other," leading to a lack of privacy. For campers who value seclusion and a sense of personal space at their campsite, this could be a significant drawback. If you prefer a more private camping experience, Ham Lake Resort might not fully meet your needs in this regard.
Another point of concern raised by a reviewer relates to the electric and water hookups in a specific area of the campground. They mentioned that odd-numbered sites shared these utilities with even-numbered sites, which resulted in an inconvenient arrangement where the reviewer had to walk around their hookups. While acknowledged as "not the end of the world," it was also described as "not ideal." Local users who require electric and water hookups should inquire about the specific layout and sharing arrangements of these utilities at their assigned site to avoid potential inconveniences.
One crucial piece of information is that Ham Lake Resort operates as a "membership only campground." One reviewer mentioned trying it out on a "free offer" and being unsure if they were "sold" on the membership aspect. This membership requirement is a significant factor for local users to consider. You would likely need to become a member to camp at Ham Lake Resort, which may involve an initial fee and/or annual dues. If you are not interested in a membership-based campground, this resort might not be suitable for you. It would be essential to inquire about the membership details, costs, and benefits before planning a stay.
Finally, one reviewer shared a negative experience with a staff member who yelled at them while they were backing in their camper. While other staff members were described as friendly, this incident suggests a potential inconsistency in customer service. First-time RV users or those with larger rigs might be particularly sensitive to such interactions. It's important to note that this seems to be an isolated incident, but it's a piece of feedback that potential visitors should be aware of.
In conclusion, Ham Lake Resort offers local users a campground with a beautiful environment, a friendly and loving staff (with a noted exception), and unique features like on-site goats, a playground, and canoe rentals. The convenience of firewood delivery is also a plus. However, potential visitors should be aware of the close proximity of campsites, potential inconveniences with shared utility hookups in certain areas, and, most importantly, the fact that it is a membership-only campground. Local users interested in experiencing Ham Lake Resort should contact them at (763) 434-5337 or +1 763-434-5337 to inquire about membership details, campsite availability, specific amenities, and any other questions they may have to determine if this local camping option aligns with their preferences and needs.

Ham Lake Resort Reviews
Best campsite to go to if u wanna relax, fish and visit with the animals. We showed up and were in awe of how beautiful this place is the people that work there is so loving and friendly. The camping spots are close together but it never really affected us. Everyone is quiet at a certain time so no need to worry about loud noise or rude neighbors. They welcome u with open arms and I love that about this campground they are very nice and happy to answer any questions u have with a smile. Love it so much we are going again this weekend but this time we are bringing our family
Sep 26, 2024 · Jenny HaessigIt's clean. The staff seem friendly enough except one lady who guided me to my site and then yelled at me four times telling me I'm backing my camper in wrong. I got it in. First time with this rig, and I got it in four. I've owned two other campers before. I'm not new to this. They do deliver the firewood you purchase, so that's nice. The sites are right on too of each other. No privacy.Odd number sites in the area I was in had the electric and water shared with even number sites, but I had to walk around my electric and water hookups the whole time. Not the end of the world, but not ideal. It's a membership only campground. Trying it on a free offer. Not sure I'm sold. They do have goats on site. So that's awesome. They have a nice playground area. You can rent canoes on any day but Sunday. Jesus walked on water, so maybe that's their thinking behind that. They claim to have kayaks, but we haven't seen one on any visit to the rental area.
Jun 17, 2024 · Keith VHam Lake Campground is my familys favorite campground during the summer months. The staff, the events, food trucks, camp sites, cleanliness, and just everything about our multiple stays every year for last few years is just top notch. Cldnt ask for or expect anything better! The other guests/members, staff, and just about everyone you meet while there makes you feel like you belong and just want everyone to enjoy their time there. Im not rating membership with MOR or now TRA just the Ham Lake Campground Location itself and the on site experiences we had had.
May 06, 2024 · Faith HuntThe people here were friendly & respectful, but special shout out to Patty & Dwight who went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. The landscaping was great, & the campground was quiet. I remember camping here when my children were young, (over 20 years ago) it was nice to revisit an old friend. We'll definitely be returning with the grandkids.
Sep 28, 2020 · Ashanti DixonThis place is great! Me and some friends got a camp site right on the lake we rented a boat for 6 hour for the price of 15 bucks.. Amazing value! Ignore the Winey Mike guy who reviewed. He doesn't even know how to set up a tent. Your not in swamp water, the staff are great people and the community is very nice. Love ham lake.
