Montgomery Bell Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Burns, Tennessee area and those searching for a well-regarded "camping near me" destination offering a variety of camping options and numerous activities, Montgomery Bell Campground, located at 1020 Jackson Hill Rd, Burns, TN 37029, USA, appears to be an excellent choice. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, this campground within a "well maintained park" promises a memorable outdoor experience for individuals and families alike. The anticipation expressed by a camper who "can't wait to go back" speaks volumes about the positive impressions this location leaves on its visitors.
When considering campgrounds in Tennessee, the availability of different types of campsites is often a key factor. Montgomery Bell Campground seems to cater to a range of preferences, as indicated by a reviewer who mentioned their intention to book "full hookups by the water" for their next visit, while another party thoroughly enjoyed their "tent camping" experience. This suggests that the campground offers both primitive or tent sites and more developed RV sites with full hookups (water, electricity, and sewer), some of which are ideally situated along the waterfront. The option to choose a campsite based on your needs and desired level of convenience is a significant feature for a diverse range of campers.
The environment of Montgomery Bell Campground is clearly a major draw, being part of a larger park that offers "so much to do." While the specific activities are not detailed in the provided reviews, the implication is that there are ample opportunities for recreation beyond just camping. This could include hiking trails, swimming areas (if the waterfront sites are near a lake or river suitable for swimming), fishing, boating, or other outdoor pursuits typically found in a well-maintained state or regional park. The statement that one visitor "didn't get to stay long enough" to experience everything further underscores the variety of attractions available within the park.
For families camping with children, Montgomery Bell Campground appears to be a welcoming destination. One reviewer specifically mentioned having an "absolutely wonderful time" while camping with their son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. This suggests that the park and campground are family-friendly, possibly offering amenities or activities that appeal to a wide age range. The positive experience of tent camping with young children indicates a comfortable and enjoyable environment for families seeking an outdoor adventure together.
While the majority of the feedback is positive, one reviewer did note a minor inconvenience regarding the roads within the camping area, describing them as "a little narrow and twisted." This is a practical consideration for those driving larger RVs or towing trailers. Navigating these roads might require extra caution and patience. It's advisable for campers with larger vehicles to inquire about the layout of the campground and potentially request sites that are more easily accessible.
Another isolated incident mentioned was someone "shooting fireworks off," which caused a temporary disturbance. However, the reviewer noted that this activity eventually stopped. While this suggests that such occurrences might be infrequent and not representative of the typical environment, it's a reminder that noise levels can sometimes be a factor in any campground setting, especially during peak seasons or holidays.
The fact that the park is described as "well maintained" is a significant positive attribute. This suggests that visitors can expect clean facilities, well-kept grounds, and an overall pleasant environment. A well-maintained park contributes greatly to a positive camping experience, ensuring that basic amenities are in good working order and that the natural beauty of the area is preserved.
Given the information available, Montgomery Bell Campground seems to offer a diverse camping experience within a park rich with activities. Whether you prefer the simplicity of tent camping or the convenience of full hookups by the water, there appears to be an option to suit your needs. The positive reviews highlight the enjoyable atmosphere and the abundance of things to do, making it a compelling choice for local users seeking a "camping near me" getaway. The mention of waterfront sites suggests potential access to swimming, fishing, or boating, further enhancing the recreational opportunities.

Montgomery Bell Campground Reviews
Can't wait to go back.Roads a little narrow and twisted in the camping area. The next time we are hopefully going to book full hookups by the water.Well maintained park.So much to do here. Didn't get to stay long enough.
Aug 22, 2023 · Donna MaddoxWent camping with my son.His wife and 2 grand kids.We had an absolutely wonderful time.We were just tent camping but it was great. The only complaint that we would have is that someone was shooting fireworks off but they stopped.
Sep 02, 2024 · Cindy PuckettWe stayed at the campground from December 29th to January 5th. Despite the cold weather we had a great time. Each day we chose one of five of the hiking trails accessible from simply walking from the campground. It was very peaceful and was able to have a fire in the firepit on a couple of occasions. The sites were full hookup, easy backends, and roomy. Would definitely come back.
Jan 07, 2024 · Joseph Newman (volinator25)5 STARS - We stayed at Montgomery Bell State Park over the Veteran’s Day weekend. Fall foliage and cool temps made for a great camping weekend. Our campsite #85 had both water and 50/30 amp electric for $29 per night. The site was adequate size for our 27’ Airstream and truck, however big rigs will not fit on this site. The camp grounds were very clean and well maintained and the park has miles of hiking and mountain biking trails to explore. A very nice campground in a beautiful part of Tennessee.
Nov 21, 2021 · Richard WrightGood campground. Sites of all types available from from tent sites to full hook-ups. Bathhouses good with lots of toilet paper and hot water, even in the sinks. Dumpsters located in one corner which is not the most convenient for all tho. Sites are large and well separated.
