Moraine Camplands Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" with a strong sense of community and plenty to do? Consider Moraine Camplands, located at 281 Staff Rd, Slippery Rock, PA 16057, USA. You can reach them at (724) 794-6242 or +1 724-794-6242 for inquiries about visiting or becoming a member.
Based on the available customer reviews, Moraine Camplands presents a mixed impression. One reviewer who visited to inquire about lot sales and membership described an unpleasant encounter with the office staff, stating that the employee was "the rudest person I have ever encountered." This negative experience led the potential member to decide against considering the campground further, despite the website's appealing appearance. This feedback highlights a potential concern regarding customer service at the initial point of contact.
In contrast, another reviewer had a positive experience, describing a "great atmosphere" with "lots of things to do and friendly people." This positive review also mentions "good activities" and a "nice pond," suggesting that Moraine Camplands offers a range of recreational opportunities and a welcoming social environment for those who stay. This indicates that while one visitor had a negative interaction, others have found the campground to be enjoyable and engaging.
Considering these contrasting views, local users looking for "camping near me" at Moraine Camplands might find a community-oriented environment with various activities and a pleasant natural feature like a pond. The positive review emphasizes the social aspect and the availability of things to do, which could be attractive to families or individuals looking for an active camping experience. The mention of friendly people suggests a welcoming atmosphere among the campers themselves.
However, the negative review regarding the rudeness of the office staff is a point that potential visitors should be aware of. While this might have been an isolated incident, it does raise questions about the overall management and customer service ethos of the campground. It's important to consider both positive and negative feedback when making a decision about where to camp.
Given that one reviewer was inquiring about "lots for sale and becoming a member," it suggests that Moraine Camplands operates, at least in part, as a membership-based campground with opportunities for owning property. This model often fosters a strong sense of community among members who return regularly. For local users interested in a more permanent camping arrangement or a community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, the membership aspect of Moraine Camplands could be a significant feature.
The mention of a "nice pond" indicates the presence of a water feature that might be used for activities such as fishing, paddle boating, or simply enjoying the view. Ponds often enhance the natural beauty of a campground and provide a focal point for relaxation and recreation.
The "good activities" mentioned in one review suggest that Moraine Camplands likely organizes events or has facilities for various forms of entertainment. These could range from games and crafts to themed weekends or outdoor sports. A campground with organized activities can be particularly appealing to families with children or those who enjoy a structured social experience while camping.
To get a more balanced perspective on Moraine Camplands as a "camping near me" option, it would be beneficial to seek additional reviews or information. Visiting the campground in person, if feasible, might also provide a better sense of the atmosphere and the quality of the facilities and customer service. The website, as mentioned by the negative reviewer, might showcase the positive aspects, but direct interaction or multiple feedback sources can offer a more comprehensive view.
In conclusion, Moraine Camplands appears to be a campground with a potentially strong community atmosphere and a variety of activities, along with features like a pond. It also seems to offer membership and lot ownership opportunities. However, there is a reported negative experience with the office staff that should be considered. For local users looking for a "camping near me" experience with a social element and things to do, Moraine Camplands is worth investigating further. Contacting them directly at the provided phone numbers might help clarify any questions about membership, visitor policies, activities, and the overall atmosphere.

Moraine Camplands Reviews
Stopped in to get information on lots for sale and becoming a member as I am looking at a few other campgrounds in the area. The girl working in the office was the rudest person I have ever encountered. I can only imagine if she is this rude at the front desk how horrible the rest of this place must be. Unfortunately I will mark this place off of my list. Too bad because the website makes it look really nice. Do better.
Apr 11, 2025 · Moon HowlersGreat atmosphere here. Lots of things to do and friendly people. Good activities nice pond
Apr 08, 2025 · tick tockThis is a members only leave that my family has been part of for almost 30 years now and a place I now take my kids to. There is a lot to do inside the camp grounds such as fishing, swimming in the lake or the pool and just walking around. The A frame has a store for common things as well as place to get cooked food which is very good. The 4th of July fireworks are always amazing and it's just a great family friendly place. They now have wifi but it's pretty bad when the camp has a lot of people but AT&T and T-Mobile have decent coverage and T-Mobile has their Ultra Capacity 5G deployed there and I was downloading at 500Mbps which is faster than my home wifi. Verizon does work but it's not very good. The location is also nice, Jennings Reserve is right next to the camp and Moraine is a short drive away and is a great state park. Slippery rock is also a short drive and Butler is not too far either. This is a great place to build family memories and I look forward to seeing my kids enjoy it and hopefully their kids some day.

Aug 04, 2019 · Tiffany JonesMy family has had a lot here since the 1970s. We really enjoy getting out of the city for a few days to unwind. The lake is calming, the people are friendly, and there's always something fun going on in the summer!
