Naples Mountain view cabin Introduce
For local residents seeking a "camping near me" experience with the allure of mountain views, Naples Mountain View Cabin, located in Springwater, NY 14512, USA, presents a seemingly attractive option. Situated in a region known for its natural beauty, the cabin promises a peaceful retreat. However, a thorough examination of recent customer reviews reveals a stark contrast in experiences, necessitating a cautious and objective introduction for potential local users.
One recent guest recounted a deeply troubling experience involving a complete lack of communication and an abrupt eviction. According to this review, the guests arrived at the unlocked cabin, left their belongings, and returned later in the evening to find their possessions moved onto the porch and the cabin locked. A chalk sign indicated "closed contact vrbo," and attempts to contact the host via messaging and calls were unsuccessful. This left the guests stranded on a 15-degree night, forcing them to find emergency accommodation. The issue was later attributed to the host failing to remove the Airbnb listing despite no longer using the platform, leading to a canceled reservation and a refund facilitated by Airbnb. This incident raises serious concerns about the host's reliability, communication, and basic hospitality standards. The reviewer strongly advises others to "steer clear" due to this negative experience and suggests that there are "too many other better alternatives in the area."
In stark contrast, another recent guest reported a positive experience, describing a "peaceful" four-day stay. This reviewer particularly enjoyed spending time on the back deck, appreciating the "nice view of the mountain in the distance." The cabin was described as "well equipped with all the biggest amenities of home," suggesting a comfortable and convenient stay in terms of provided facilities. This guest also found John, the owner, to be "super nice" and dedicated to ensuring a pleasant stay. This positive feedback highlights the potential for a comfortable and enjoyable experience at the cabin, particularly regarding the natural setting and the amenities provided.
However, this positive review also includes important practical considerations for potential guests. It is noted that a "solid car" is needed to navigate the "strong hills and curves" in the area, indicating that the location might be somewhat remote or have challenging road conditions. Additionally, the reviewer advises guests to "bring water to drink" as the cabin's water source is a well with a noted "sulfur odor," although it is stated to be "safe." These points are crucial for local users to consider when planning their trip, as they might need to ensure their vehicle is suitable for the terrain and plan to bring an adequate supply of drinking water.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment surrounding Naples Mountain View Cabin appears to offer scenic beauty, with mountain views being a key feature. The location in Springwater, NY, suggests a rural setting, potentially characterized by hills and natural landscapes. The presence of a well as the water source indicates a degree of self-sufficiency and connection to the natural environment. The availability of a deck to enjoy the views further enhances the appeal of the setting for those seeking a peaceful outdoor retreat.
In terms of services and features, one positive review mentions that the cabin is "well equipped with all the biggest amenities of home," implying the presence of standard household facilities that would make for a comfortable stay. The large kitchen table mentioned in a different review (from a different property but potentially indicative of the host's general offerings if the same owner was involved) suggests that the cabin might be suitable for small groups or families. The availability of a deck for enjoying the mountain views is a significant feature that could attract those looking for a relaxing outdoor space.
However, the severe negative experience reported by one guest casts a significant shadow over these potential positives. The complete lack of communication and the abrupt eviction raise serious concerns about the reliability and professionalism of the host. This incident suggests a potential disregard for guest welfare and a failure to manage booking platforms effectively. Local users considering this cabin must weigh the potential for a peaceful stay and nice views against the risk of encountering similar issues with the host.
There is no promotional information provided for Naples Mountain View Cabin. Therefore, local users interested in potentially booking a stay would need to inquire directly about availability, pricing, and any specific policies or guarantees. It would be prudent to seek clarification on the host's current booking practices and communication protocols before making a reservation. Asking about the water situation and road conditions would also be advisable based on the information gleaned from the reviews.
In conclusion, Naples Mountain View Cabin offers the potential for a scenic and well-equipped "camping near me" experience in Springwater, NY. The mountain views and the availability of amenities could be appealing to local users seeking a peaceful retreat. However, the serious negative experience reported by one guest, involving a lack of communication and abrupt eviction, cannot be ignored. This incident raises significant concerns about the host's reliability and hospitality. Potential local users should carefully consider these contrasting experiences and proceed with caution, ensuring thorough communication with the host before making any booking. It would be wise to inquire about current booking procedures, communication expectations, and the water and road conditions to make an informed decision.

Naples Mountain view cabin Reviews
Steer clear! We stayed here 10 years ago and clearly John's ability to keep up with hospitality has diminished.Had a terrible experience renting from this host on Airbnb. We arrived and the cabin was unlocked as stated in the post. We dropped off our things around 5 and went out for dinner. Got back around 9:30 at night and all of our belongings were brought out onto the porch and the door was locked, with "closed contact vrbo" on the chalk sign outside the cabin. We received no communication from the host for any reason or warning. Tried messaging and calling the host but got no response whatsoever and wouldn't answer calls. Had to find an emergency place to stay on a 15 degree night at 10pm, and wasn't until I got ahold of someone from Airbnb the next day did to get the reservation canceled on their end so I would get a refund. Apparently the host had stopped listing with airbnb but failed to pull his listing or address the calendar availability. Couldn't seem to bothered to have the decency to explain to us or try to contact us prior to just throwing our stuff outside. There are simply too many other better alternatives in the area
Feb 09, 2025 · Cody LarabyWe spent four peaceful days there, mostly out back on the deck with a nice view of the mount8in the distance. The place was well equipped with all the biggest amenities of home. John, the owner, was super nice and oes his best to try to make his guests' stay as pleasant as possible. You will need a solid car to navigate strong hills and curves. Also, bring water to drink. Their source is a well. It's safe but has a suffer odor.
Jul 06, 2024 · Mark WaltmanHorrible experience staying here through Airbnb. First impression walking through the door was that there are some cosmetic issues (stained rug, old run down couch and tv stand), and that it wasn’t cleaned well aside from surface level stuff. (Surface dust, cobweb hanging across the room from ceiling fan switch to corner). Then we entered the bathroom and it was full of poop… we cleaned that up so we could use it. Then used the shower and it was the strongest sulfur smell I’ve ever smelled in a shower. It was almost unbearable. All of this aside, I was willing to give the owner the benefit of the doubt and leave private feedback for him when I check out. We left quickly to golf and while out on the course received angry messages from the host John, because we didn’t notify him of our arrival on the premises. The main reason we didn’t is because we were busy, but also we weren’t impressed with the place. He claimed that Airbnb has a policy that he has to be on site for check in (Total lie). I informed him that I am a superhost and this is untrue. He proceeded to tell me to cancel. He ended up calling me names and being unprofessional in general. I will attach screen shots of the entire interaction here. Sadly I don’t think I can review on Airbnb since I was given a full refund.
Jun 29, 2024 · Katie HarmerThis is the best cabin i’ve stayed at so far, it was bigger than expected, tons of provided movies. The Owner helped us with getting a fire going. There’s a great view, plenty of room for everyone to sleep. His dog came to visit and was the sweetest. The area is secluded and it’s a great place to get away for a few days. i highly recommend these cabins.
