Quiet and unassuming, this campground offers a nice contrast, as you have plenty of trees around you and can walk across the street to town for anything you want. The spots can be tight, so check ahead of time to see if your trailer will fit. Some sites were only big enough for trailers, while others could hold several cars. It is also tight navigating through some parts of the campground. The hosts were friendly and keep the campground in good order. There is a dump station on premises that you can use and freshwater fill up as well.

I brought two families with boys to spot #88. It was easy distance from a lot of tourist/site-seeing destinations. The spot allowed for 6 people. The site had plenty of places to pitch tents, a bear box, one picnic table, and a large fire ring with flip over grill. The site was relatively flat and kinda in a valley so it had shade most of the day... except when the sun was directly overhead. There were flushing toilets at an easy walking distance, potable water faucet was right by the site, and bear safe trash cans and recycling boxes were by the bathrooms. The trash's bear proof door needed to be pushed a little extra to ensure it was closed. The top of the recycling boxes had small round holes, but if you opened the lower door, you could place larger plastic bottles directly into the recycle bin. They even provide buckets at the potable water stations so you can douse your fires for safety. The driveway at #88 is slanted so make sure to put the trailer tires up on blocks. The length of the driveway fit a 22 foot trailer and the pull vehicle just fine. Our main issues were the lack of showers, firewood, distance of picnic table from bear box, and the dump station. If you want to shower, you need to go to the RV park across the road, only between the hours of 10am and 5pm to buy a $10 shower ticket and if their line was too long and you arrive at the desk at 5:10pm, then you cannot shower. If the campground has flushing toilets, they should have paid showers somewhere between the three adjoined campgrounds... maybe up by the entrance. Firewood bundles were sold for $9-11 and you cannot bring your own wood to prevent the spread of insects and disease... you are allowed to harvest fallen pinecones and wood to use, but most was too green and smoked terribly. The worst thing for us about site #88 was that the picnic table was not next to the bear box but like 20 feet away. So every time you had trash or needed a supply or wanted an ingredient, you have to walk 20 feet to it. This got old very fast especially when you had hiked all day and were exhausted & sore. They should move the picnic table to beside the bear box. Now, I will talk about the dump station, which was ridiculous. You pay $10 for 1 minute of dumping. You have to be 100% ready before paying and pray all the stuff comes out in less than 45 seconds as it counts down. It was so stressful and unreasonable. I don't know a single trailer who can drain fast enough for a 1 minute limit. We should have found somewhere else to dump. Overall, I would come back here for a vacation, but would rely more on a propane stove to cook than the fire pit, would bring extra money to take one shower during the trip, would make sure we arrived to the showers early, and would find somewhere to dumping station that did not have a 1 minute timer beeping at you!

Dire as a hiking base.. the grounds are just off the main 2x2 road so noise is constant from 6am onward, though ar a moderate level. Many spots are just so uneven and slanted that setting a large tent is a real challenge.Worse is that there are no showers. You are told you can use those at the RV park opposite but in fact.. not after 5pm, which is a serious constraint to organise your hiking day !We're booked for 4 nights but we're trying to find a spot somewhere else.

Big spacious sites. Plenty of space in between campsites. Lots of trees in the campground which was nice. However, they will be doing a tree thinning project. Lots of trees were marked to be removed which is unfortunately. The only negative is the bathroom had no soap or paper towels. Make sure you keep your food and trash in the bear box. A bear went through the campground and was finding things.
