Newton / Des Moines East KOA Journey Reviews
Great Journey campground with lots of space for big rigs. Alta House is a beautiful wedding venue. We went to Thirsty Thursday and listened to some very gifted musicians young and older! They featured appetizers and open bar. We had a great time. Would definitely stop again.
Apr 25, 2025 · Lisa MorganwalkerNice place. Off season, we stopped one night. Lots of open sites, beautiful little river along with mature trees, kid friendly and pet area. Love the patio sites with great Adirondack chairs and fire pit with brick so it isn't muddy when it rains. Cute store with a few essentials/ wine. The sites are pretty tight and close together. Womans' showers/bathrooms were just fixed/tile, so we had to use the men's. If we were warned beforehand, it might have been better.
Apr 13, 2025 · S7Wa GBest KOA I have stayed at. The staff incredibly friendly especially the front desk gentleman and his wife. The spaces are good, very family friendly. Clean bathrooms and showers. If you are looking for family friendly spot this is it
Apr 23, 2025 · Joe ANice campground only spent one night we were on our journey back home, little further out than I expected no big deal. Very close to the interstate so it was quite noisy. They have very high water pressure so make sure you have a regulator. Women's restrooms and showers were out of order
Apr 16, 2025 · Don BerreLittle loud but quiet enjoy able, love this place. The person who runs this place knows what she’s doing. Always clean, don’t understand why lower bathroom is locked up. Still would never leave a bad review. Would love to die in this location if I was going to go 😂. I love KOA. Have found some wonderful artifacts. This is a whole other experience only artifact hunters would understand. Bathrooms are always clean and smells fresh. Everyone works hard to keep it clean. Ripped off 3:00 dollars machine , still better than driving ten miles.
